An Oasis in the culinary wilderness that is March in the Cambridgeshire fens.

Huge pub but divided in to pleasing rooms and spaces so has a homely personable feel.

Came for lunch on an unremarkable Monday and the place was busy. Lovely welcome and friendly bar staff.

Sizeable menu and my choice of chicken salad did not disappoint. Near instant delivery (inc friends scampi, peas & chips - which was appreciated and impressive).

The salad was 100% fresh, tasty and jam packed with different ingredients and extremely generous tender chicken.

Deeply envious of the locals to have this establishment on their doorstep.

All credit to the hard working and friendly staff - A winning formula indeed.

A Culinary Oasis

We initially booked for Friday and Saturday night but decided to come up a day before. We booked the extra day and made our journey to March. On arrival we were told we would've to change rooms the next day but the assistant manager rejigged a few things and made it so we didn't have to.  
We were warned about the late music Saturday night but we could hardly hear it in our room (we were in room 7). Ear plugs were supplied but completely unnecessary lol. 
The room was nice and warm and clean.  Tea and coffee facilities and a TV. Room was ensuite.  All in all pretty good. We won't hesitate to stay again.  We also had the carvery on Sunday which was excellent value and very nice. We had an elderly friend with us and the staff got us a table right next to the carvery counter. We'll done and thanks to all the staff and management

Great service and hospitality, felt really at home especially with Natalia’s great service ! Made me feel really at home would definitely visit again, the food was great and quick service, the rooms were tidy and kept clean, would definitely return!

Fabulous Wednesday night carvery. Fantastic service by the always cheerful Charlie who gave me plenty of meat and roast potatoes!
Eva was a delight on the bar and helped me choose the carvery and what to have to drink
Introduced me to the Mixr App which seems a really good addition. You sign up and use it as a rewards card. Receive points for every purchase and even get a drink for free for signing up

Wonderful food, service and new app feature to save you money

Lovely place, atmosphere is great and the staff are super friendly. Never had a problem with food, quick and reliable service and a great selection of drinks to choose from, there is so many different wines, gins and vodkas!! First choice for a breakfast in the morning or a drink at the weekend

Lovely place

Fabulous place to stay and eat.
The rooms were spotless and the bed was so comfortable.
Food in the restaurant was good value and tasty.
The staff were all friendly and helpful
Well done to you all for making my visit so good

A gem of a hotel

We went to the ye olde griffin pub for a short visit  to march cambs, I would highly recommend  the hotel to any one the price was reasonable , very clean and a warm welcoming when we arrived, the dinner and breakfast we had was great very friendly staff, car parking behind plenty of spaces ,parking was free. Room was big plenty of light and very clean, en suit bathroom was reall nice.  Entertainment down stairs in the pub the drinks we reasonably priced . In the middle of town  plenty of shops , on bus route if you want.we couldn’t fault any of our visit we went to Ely just a short journey down the road , where we visited Ely cathedral, we had an whole day there very nice .

Short break

Nice friendly staff, good food and a great atmosphere. Probably the best value pub in March if you value atmosphere over an ultra cheap pint, if you don't go to weatherspoons lol! Large car park too and outside area

Great place

Couldn't fault this place & would definitely return. Room amenities better than 4 star hotels we've stayed in. Good food, didn't make breakfast as bit early for us but had snacks & evening meal. Drink prices reasonable & all made for a really good weekend, especially the delightfully funny Ryan

Weekend getaway

There is so much that is great about this place - the customer service was brilliant and every staff member we met was really welcoming.  

The food in the restaurant was really nice and very well priced, they were really busy but it came out quicker than we were warned.  

The room was great.  Very spacious, clean and good facilities.  

Up until now we’re definitely 5/5. 

However, after booking I received an email to say they have entertainment on a weekend and you might be able to hear this in the room.   It wasn’t the entertainment that was the actual problem, you could hear the music but could have slept through it…instead it was the noise from outside that was the real problem.  The room faced on to the high street which was very noisy with people and traffic and directly above the entrance to the pub.  The noise finally died down at 230am in the morning.  

Earplugs would definitely have helped a good nights sleep.  

Great staff, great facilities but an unfortunate location so I wouldn’t return.
