Great nights stay.  The hosts were really lovely  and offered tea and chocolate  cake on arrival.
Beautiful  home set in a picturesque  and quiet village.  
Our bedroom had a king size bed with a view across the pond. Bed very comfortable. 
Breakfast  included juice   fresh fruit salad , cereal,toast with home made jam and marmalade,  and an English cooked breakfast. 
We enjoyed a little walk around  the village and a half in the local pub. 
The hosts were lovely  and we hope they enjoyed the family celebrations  they were planning. 

Great stay in an historic  farmhouse

Booked directly with owners and We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved our stay. The house is easy to find via satnav. Owners were very welcoming and friendly and kindly gave recommendations of local restaurants etc as there are not really any places that serve food in the local village. Double room was very comfortable and clean with kettle for tea making. Rozzie kindly left some milk on the morning just outside bedroom door. Each room has it's own bathroom which is just outside bedroom door (not ensuite). Breakfast was delicious choice of full English with cereals, fruits etc-  Beautifully presented with view facing front lawn, geese and horses. Owners kindly let us use outdoor pool for a few hours to which was a real treat. Lots of surrounding fields for a lovely walk. House gardens are beautiful and very quiet. Short drive into Hungerford or Marlborough. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Delightful Stay

We arrived to this stunning house and were warmly greeted by our hosts; Rozzie & Johnnie. After being shown the house and our room, we asked about the history of this amazing house. It dates back some 700 years and the interior is impressive as the exterior. We were offered tea and Rozzie had baked a delicious chocolate cake. We sat and chatted for a while and another couple joined us, who had also just arrived.
Our room was lovely and breakfast was great. Our hosts were wonderful and the house such a happy one. As we were staying for 2 nights, we had plenty of time to explore. We visited Hungerford, Marlborough and Salisbury. Unfortunately the village pub was closed at the time, but we were invited to join the local residents in the village hall, where they had set up a temporary bar on the Friday evening. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and they were all pleased that the pub was to re-open in about a week. Thank you Rozzie and Johnnie. We will definitely stay again if we visit the area xx

Wonderful place to stay

A last minute booking direct with the owners.  Rozzie and Jonnie have a beautiful period house in an idyllic setting.  Our hosts were full of ideas about places to visit. They also kindly let us use their outdoor pool for a couple of hours each day.  We were spoilt with tea and chocolate cake one afternoon.  Breakfast in the morning was both healthy and satisfying.  A great base for walking in the area and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful B&B in Shalbourne

This was an excellent find - so pleased we did. An absolutely gorgeous house, with a wonderful hostess by the name of Rozzie. Our room had two single very comfortable beds and a really nice bathroom right next door. We arrived to a lovely pot of tea with homemade chocolate cake which was such a nice thought. The breakfast was simply marvellous in the morning....a cooked breakfast as well as orange juice, cereal, choice of bread/toast. Rozzie has thought of everything. 

The house is in the heart of the countryside, so very peaceful and so green. There is a pub just 2 minutes walk away which serves really nice food, where we had dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely B&B. Thank you, Rozzie.

Fantastic place to stay!

We recently spent a few days exploring Shalbourne and the surrounding area which has numerous sights to offer. 
On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown the house and lovely room. We had booked the twin/double room and must say that we were very pleased with it. It was nicely furnished and presented and the bathroom was just around the corner. 
After a good night’s sleep, we were treated to a delicious breakfast. There was a great variety of different fruit, muesli, marmalades and toast. Additionally, the cooked breakfast was super. 
While planning our excursions, Rozzie helped us out with local information and gave us good recommendations and tips. She gave us the feeling of being right at home. The small village pub was only a very short walk away and ideal for an evening out.
All in all, this is a superb B&B, which we can thoroughly recommend.

A great place to stay to explore the surrounding area

Having previously stayed in various places in Hungerford and surrounding area  all of which were now becoming very disappointing we needed to find a place to stay for one night. We are so very pleased to have found Westcourt Farm. Rozzie and Johnny were absolutely charming hosts. The room was very comfortable and the overall feeling was one of a relaxed stay in a family home so much nicer than staying in a hotel. Although we only stayed one night Westcourt Farm would be a great place to stay whilst exploring the local area and with the pub just a 2 minute walk away we felt absolutely at home in Shalbourne.

A lovely place to stay

Booked a two night stay through Booking.com on January 14, 2019.  Six days later - the 20th - I received a text message from the proprietor saying that the room was not available.  I would suggest not booking if you want to avoid disappointment!

Never Did Get There

The Westcourt Farm was the central focus of our visit to England, as Shalbourne is an ancestral site of this reviewer. The Buxton’s were gracious hosts, allowing us to book months in advance, and making us feel welcomed and “at home”. The house and extensive grounds are meticulously maintained, providing an excellent “country estate” setting dating back in-part to 700 years. The exposed oak rafters, and building construction are of particular interest to students of carpentry and other building trades. Our room was of a charming décor and of a good size, and the restroom was of adequate size. The breakfast dining was excellent, served in a charming dining room with lit fireplace, and elegant table setting. It is located within a brief walking distance are the Plough tavern and Post Office / general store. St. Michael and All Angels church (largely of Victorian Gothic Revival design with elements dating to Norman and other eras) is nearby by road or walking path (the walking path allows magnificent vistas of the rolling hill countryside). The villagers were friendly, welcoming, and informative. As we were confined to public transportation, it was four mile taxi ride from Hungerford. Mr. Buxton provided contact with a local driver who took us to Winchester (via in-part a Roman route) along a beautiful scenic route. This is an excellent accommodation for area folk seeking a restful overnight or weekend “get-away”, as well as for an extended visit for area and overseas visitors. The courtesy, kindness, and accommodations made by our hosts made our visit here a most rewarding and memorable experience.
