The whole house was in a perfect setting and the inside decor was even better than we expected.   Jane and Alan were the best hosts ever and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay.  Jane immediately  offered us a cup of tea after our long journey and gave us a slice of her daughter’s home made cake which was delicious.   A perfect stay

Excellent family home

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Jane and Alun could not have been more welcoming or knowledgeable about the local area and its attractions. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely thoughtful touches.

Idyllic short break.

I don’t  usually choose a B&B, in a search came across Throphill it looked so nice I gave it a go. So pleased I did I stayed in Percy a lovely room , ensuite shower & bath , all amenities hair dryer, gowns ,toiletries, soft white towels & tea & coffee. Just outside the room is a fridge with wine to buy & sit outside in the peace & quiet & drink. Breakfast is served beautifully in the library, breakfast is first class can not fault it. Jane & Alun are great hosts & certainly look after you. Their knowledge of the area is great as well
Highly recommend & would definitely return. So much to see in the area. I had a beautiful restful stay. Thank you

Stay you won’t regret it

After 6 months of doing very little, our stay at Throphill Grange was a little bit of normality. I think we were the first visitors of 2021 as well!

Our stay was everything we were looking for in a short break. Jane made us very welcome and her breakfasts were amazing. Great food and lots of it.

Really comfortable room and nice bathroom were just the job - we were out in the evenings so we didn't need anything more.

Jane also helped us with some ideas for our itinerary while we were in Northumberland. As it was our first visit, this was really helpful and her advice was spot on! 

Would highly recommend.

Exceptional

Similar to every previous review it’s a outstanding place to stay. It ticks every box, location, rooms, host hospitality and breakfast to name a few.

Jane is an exceptional host and ensures you’re well looked after. Make sure you spend sometime with Alun his knowledge of the local area is really helpful.

We stayed in Scott, a beautiful room with an amazing bed. 

We came to ride, run and relax and couldn’t have chose a better place to spend four nights, we will be back.

Simply outstanding

My Mum and I stayed at Throphill Grange for two nights whilst visiting family in Morpeth and were so impressed with this beautiful BnB, set in the rolling Northumberland countryside. We stayed in the Percy room which was spotless, comfortable and welcoming, and had been so tastefully decorated with lovely finishing touches. We really appreciated having fresh cold milk available for a cup of tea (in a fridge just outside the room) with the option to buy wine too. Jane was a very welcoming and friendly host. We particularly enjoyed our delicious breakfast in the Weil library - a cosy and attractive nook lined with books - served with very good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. We hope to be back!

A lovely stay at this hidden gem

A luxury B and B in glorious countryside, very tastefully furnished. 
Very welcoming hosts Jane and Alan.
Can’t really add to all the other reviews other than to say it is certainly one of those places that you would want to return to. 
So much to see and do in Northumberland. 
We barely scratched the surface in a couple of days.

It is what it says.

We stayed there for a couple of nights in September and were treated to a fantastic stay from Jane and Alun. The room itself was spacious and had some design and individuality attached to it with some African themes, very comfy pillows and a beautiful glass dolphin in the bathroom. There was plenty of complimentary water and an option to buy wine from a fridge just outside the room. There’s a lovely outside seating area which we used to enjoy a nice bottle of wine whilst looking over at the stunning scenery. Jane is a fantastically friendly, funny and intelligent host who immediately made us feel right at home from the moment we pulled up, whilst Alun kindly provided us with an itinerary for the entire day given we didn’t know the area. It’s a lovely quiet setting and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Northumberland and I’d love to visit again. Special mention of Milo the dog also - loved him!

Fantastic B&B

Stunning property in beautiful location, gorgeous room, amazing breakfast- felt so relaxed there and the host Jane, couldn’t have been any more welcoming. Hoping to make it a yearly break up there just so that we can stay at Throphill Grange again!
