We had a lovely ,afternoon,
drinks and the Meze board,This was really nice.Presented well,

The bar staff,do change,but they are lovely and helpful.
They looked after us yesterday.

I come here often.I am mostly always very happy.

Afternoon with family.

Excellent inn in Melksham, excellent ales, food and smart room with big ensuite. Breakfast included in price was lovely full English and all the staff were friendly and relaxed. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Free parking once logged at bar too.

You can't complain about the quantity only the quality of the cooking!! The menu states the beef would be served pink on a roast, mine wasn't, it was overdone. The whole large carrot on the plate was overcooked. The roast potatoes were massive, & didn't taste fresh. Considering the price of the roast (£18.00) this was not worth it!!! You get loads on the plate, but rather than serving a big slab of beef, maybe slice it thinner, also it was swimming in gravy, why not put it in a jug for people to please them selves?

Quantity over Quality!!

Stayed for a couple of nights with some friends and took our meals in the hotel.Rooms were clean and  comfortable with good facilities.Breakfast menu was extensive,portions large and quality excellent.Dinner menu was relatively small but,again,portions were large and quality excellent.Car parking facilities at the rear of the hotel were good.The staff made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.They made our visit most enjoyable.Would certainly recommend for a mid-price hotel.

A good experience with a Butcombe hotel

It’s an attractive looking pub/hotel In the centre of town with plenty of parking.  The rooms were nicely furnished, clean and comfortable, tea, coffee, water all available.  The staff were lovely; helpful, informative and efficient
B&B was excellent value, good breakfast menu, enjoyed our full English and eggs benedict.  Would definitely stay here again if coming back to the area

What a lovely place to stay it's got everything you need lovely rooms great food and drink. Andy and all of his team were fantastic really helpful and a great sense of customer service and all really nice funny people as well could not fault anything.

We ate a few times in the evening and the food was really good good selection I would have no hesitation in booking this place again.

Room 7 - 17.09 - 4 Nights.

4 Night stay

My wife and I really enjoyed our 2-night stay here.   Very comfortable room and a lovely bed which defied even my well-honed ability to sleep poorly in strange beds. Excellent en-suite bathroom with bath available as well as a shower - quite a rarity in modern-day hotels !  My apologies to Andy for misunderstanding how the water controls worked, lol.   We had lovely breakfasts on both days of our stay, and an excellent evening meal on our first night.  The Butcombe beer was to die for and superbly kept - I knew Butcombe are an excellent brewery before I came but it was lovely to have it confirmed.We particularly enjoyed the Tuesday Quiz Night, and if we stsy again we'll make sure that a Tuesdayis part of our stay.  My only very minor quibble would be that breakfast cereals aren't available, but that really is nitpicking so no issue.

The staff were especially lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special mention must be made of Milly, who was unfailingly cheerful and helpful and always ready to go above and beyond despite our regular "senior moments" - I'm sure she is destined for greater things in future years !

Absolutely Wonderful, Lovely Place & Superb Staff

Passing through stopped for lunch I ordered a ploughman's my husband burger and chips and two drinks the ploughman's if you can call it that had the smallest pieces of cheese you can think of my husband said the burger was awful and tasteless this food is well over priced very small portions for maximum price and the service charge they don't tell you about won't be back 

Waste of money 

A really comfortable night's sleep in a super large bed in this quaint old English Inn, a warm welcome greets you as you arrive and throughout your stay, very pleasant staff. 
A large super clean comfortable room at very reasonable rates. 
Smoked streaky bacon for breakfast and good coffee, this is heaven and I will be back. 
It's great to see a hotel keeping to it's tradition

Excellent Traditional old fashioned values hotel highly recommend 

Room was in need of decorating and the toilet needed a good bleach . It wasn't a cheap hotel . Stopped in a lot better rooms for less money . So was disappointed with it being as it was a wedding anniversary  treat . Staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was excellent.  Evening menu was over priced and limited choice
