The hotel was in a convenient location opposite the seafront and the West Somerset Railway. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Our room was lovely- and clean. The cooked breakfast was superb. We managed to leave a coat and a shirt hanging in the wardrobe - and only noticed we had forgotten them 24 hours later ! A quick phone call and everything was taken care of by Matthew in reception- who very kindly posted our missing items to us free of charge ! 
I would highly recommend this hotel and its staff to anyone staying in the area.

Great value and fantastic staff !

We loved this place! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay so relaxing. We visited with our puppy and were all made to feel so welcome. Very clean and cosy and has everything you need. Thank you, we will see you again! 

Great staff 

Having stayed here previously with my Therapy Dog I took a chance at having a room just for one night as I couldn't bear going home alone. Sadly, I had  just come from the vets having my pet put to sleep.
I was met with sympathy by a lovely gentleman, possibly the manager? I was given a lovely warm room and was able to regather myself overnight, helped along by watching a beautiful sunset over the sea from the bay window in my room. Comfy bed, hot water, cleansing shower, fresh milk and a healing sleep. Thanks to All at The Beach. Will be back.

Sympathy in my Sadness

I visited here today (25/11/23) with a friend for lunch, and thought the restaurant/pub was welcoming and cosy. The staff were friendly and immediately let us know that the kitchen is an apprentice kitchen, and so food may take a little while, up to 30 minutes - this was reiterated to us 3 different times, and each time the staff member checked we were happy with this. The drinks we ordered arrived quickly, and the food wasn’t far behind. Overall the food was tasty and big portions, which is always welcome - and fairly priced in my opinion! I would definitely recommend the venue for a lunch, the menu has plenty of options. I can’t comment on the hotel itself, as I didn’t stay overnight here. 

What I would like to comment on is an incident with another customer that has shocked me, and I must stress not because of the way the staff responded - how they dealt with it was perfectly. But on the off chance that the vile excuse of a man or any of his party are reading this with the intention of making their own review, read on. The man in question was sat at a table with 6 other of his party, they all received their food and had clearly gone through a few drinks as empty glasses littered the table. They accepted their food happily enough, no grumbles could be heard. However about 10 mins into their meal, when most of this party had scarfed down their food I might add, big man decided he had an issue with how long they’d waited for their food, and preceded to shout and bellow at the kitchen staff and waiting staff about his annoyance at this. Apparently they’d booked a table for 12.30 and had been seated promptly, but had waited quite some time for their food. Presumably they had been given the same warning about food taking a while as my table had, but evidently decided they weren’t happy with this. What ensued during this out rust is nothing short of embarrassing for this individual. He continued to shout and scream at the staff, refusing to accept apology or restrain himself. He leapt out of his seat, swearing and shouting and refusing to pay for his meal. His family/the rest of his party followed suit, and grabbed their jackets at all walked out. How shameful. If you are reading this, you should be utterly ashamed and embarrassed about how you conducted yourself today. I have no doubt you are a bully and a narcissist at home and I pity your family and friends that have to deal with you, if that’s how you treat complete strangers. What a pathetic way to act. Being unhappy about slow service and having a bit of a grumble is one thing, but to launch into a completely unprovoked tirade of verbal abuse and shouting is frankly unhinged. Well done to the staff who dealt with it and moved on with their day, it’s unacceptable that you should have to put up with such abuse in your place of work.

Great lunch in the restaurant

Very good value for money staff were excellent , would definitely recommend this hotel and dog friendly hotel . Right on the beach front . Breakfast was lovely and we were able to take our dogs down with us . 

Great break

This is a walk in a dine operation Simple good service but the real star is the food a great choice of 3 roasts pork beef & the garden so refreshing to see no meat substitutes just great veggies & hummus I think it a YMCA run hotel for apprentice cooks and servers who were all brilliant and we could see chef instructor talking and explaining all during lunch what theatre top notch worth the visits great work YMCA

Stay for 1 night to attend Dunster Christmas Fair. Excellent position of hotel. Had room with sea view, very comfortable, slept well. Cold outside, but warm inside. Staff were very good and helpful. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Railway just across road, and easy flat walk into town. Free car parking. Recomend.

Good hotel on sea front

We stayed here as part of a family reunion. Lesso learnt that Booking.Com do not transfer the names for each room so it's worth if booking multiple rooms to let the hotel know the names for each room. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and the food was great - I had steak pie. The breakfast offer was really good. The room was amazing with fantastic sea view and whilst the hotel is on the main road we had a peaceful night even with the window open. A really lovely stay and the staff were fantastic. Well done (Great Wifi too!)

Excellent location and lovely rooms

We had a friendly welcome, the room was ready early too. We were shown to our room which was Bossington Bay I think. It had sea views, very clean, comfortable and spacious, breakfast was great too. Only stayed 1 night but would prefer to of stayed the week rather than in butlins which was run down and dirty. Would stay again.

Should of stayed longer!

A great stay with friendly staff, our room was lovely and clean and had a lovely sea view and there was plenty of tea and coffee and we were given an ice bucket with water and fresh milk, perfectly located for town and the harbour. unfortunately the kitchen had a power outage so didn’t get a cooked breakfast but wasn’t the end of the world they were very apologetic ( this was totally out of their control) an excellent hotel and will definitely visit again and recommend
