Danny and Anita were both wonderful hosts. They were both friendly and made us feel very welcomed the moment we stepped into their homely guest house.

The location is great - town is within walking distance with various choices of eateries; an easy trail if you fancy a walk at Gallow Hill is just behind the guest house.

The breakfast was also wonderful and filling - they were able to cater for our vegetarian request. If that was not enough, they also offered toasts and cereals to left us full at the end of the meal.

Danny and Anita also travelled a lot, hence is evidenced by the many beautiful ornaments decorated inside the house. I love at how cozy and warm the guest house was decorated.
If only I could stay longer and explore the books at the common lounge.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back again (maybe stay longer).

A Big Stay in a Small Town

The Buchan is ideally situated at the top end of town and is a short stroll to the centre. It is in a quiet road that is ideal for parking but they also have private parking at the rear of the house if you prefer. 

It is a lovely house owned by Anita and Danny who are a lovely, welcoming couple who are originally from near Manchester. Our room (no 3) is roomy, beautifully decorated and furnished, and has a lovely, spacious ensuite with a bath and a separate, very stylish “beam me up Scotty” shower (you’ll know when you see it).

Breakfast is top class and from the buffet you can select from fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, juices etc. We also ordered excellent fruit salads and while my wife enjoyed smoked haddock and poached egg, I had the Full Scottish which fulfilled my three criteria for a perfect cooked breakfast, ie good quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and nicely presented.

Moffat is a lovely place to visit and ideal as a base to explore this beautiful part of Scotland. How great therefore to discover this fabulous B&B which will definitely be our first choice on future visits.

Top class in every respect.

This is a great guest house just 5 minutes walk away from the centre. The hosts are really nice people and the rooms are very clean and comfortable also the breakfast’s are excellent. We only stayed for 1 night but wouldn’t have any problems staying here again and would very much recommend.

Great guest house

We stopped here to break our journey. It was a wonderful home with lots of chinaand artifacts on display. Our roo. Was lovely and there was a lounge next door where you could relax and make a hot drink. There was also facilities in your room. There was private parking g behind the hotel. Outside areas to sit for a while but unfortunately we were not there long enough. Lovely breakfast with many options


Great stopover.

Our hosts Anita and Danny gave us a warm friendly welcome. Our room and the rest of the house was spotless ( I am fussy and notice everything ) . Breakfast was excellent, plenty of well cooked breakfast. Good selection too. We would definitely recommend. Thank you very much Irene and Barry ☺️

Would definitely recommend, spotless and excellent breakfast 

Stopped for one night with my dad on our way back down from the Highlands and we were very impressed. Super clean, very comfy and a perfect location. The couple that run the Buchan were lovely too and the breakfast was superb. The rooms had everything we needed with some extra lovely touches (bottled water, biscuits and mega soft towels). Will definitely stay again!

Excellent!

First class B&B you couldn’t want more.  Lovely owners interesting but not overbearing.  
The building, though large,  was absolutely spotlessly.  Excellent and varied breakfast, something for everyone including vegans.  
Our room, beds and bedding all very comfortable and we had a good hot showers.  
The hospitality tray even had hot chocolate plus Tunnocks biscuits. 
 We would love to be able to come back.

Fantastic Hosts. Lovely rooms and spotlessly clean. Great Breakfasts. Nice Lounge for guests and nice seating area at the front of the guest house. Good position for a walk into the town. Good parking facilities.

Two great stays

Was greeted with very friendly and welcoming owners. They are very helpful . The breakfast was amazing and plenty to choose from. 

Our room was immaculate and a large en-suite. The room we had was spacious and very comfortable. A fabulous nights sleep, quite and peaceful. 

There is a guess lounge where you can read a book have extra tea /coffee and or biscuits Etc. 

We would recommend the guess house to anyone.

Weekend break.

5/10 min walk to centre of Moffat and on a quiet area. Very nice looking house which is very well maintained. Very warm welcome and have us done good recommendations. Nice spacious room which was very cool considering g the heat outside. Comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast was spot on which you order the night before. Highly recommend and book direct on there website for the best rate.
