We stumbled across this little gem by accident. It’s no longer a hotel, and although they aren’t serving food at the moment, there are plans to do so in the near future, but it is still worth a visit. 
Brian and Dina, who run the pub, are absolutely lovely, and made us more than welcome each time we visited. 
Don’t be put off by the exterior, the adjoining house and conservatory are being renovated, the pub is the small attached building on the right, and has recently been very nicely updated.

This is now open again and it’s a brilliant little pub compared to the old cold dump it once was , well worth a visit, 
Close to Sunderland point and great for walks around the coast, great fishing and bird watching all within local area,

We visited this little pub last night, do not judge a book by its cover, what a wonderful way to spend an evening! The pub is lovely as are the people who own it, the locals are very friendly and welcoming, we visited last night with friends and their two husky’s, The Globe is very dog and people friendly, definitely worth a visit, we will be back soon!

This Hotel/pub .came under new ownership in 2220.
 after being closed for a number of years. The new owners ,
are working hard to build this business, and at the moment 
it only operates as a public house. A welcomed  return to
the  village pub scene along  with the ship inn, a hourly bus serves 
the  village until early evening

Keep away it's the dirtiest place in the country to stay in i'm sure and the photo's included prove it. Good job we were local as we've never been treated to such bad treatment !! The food was disgusting and no wonder we were the only ones eating there all day soggy scampi and an 8oz sirloin steak that was more like a 2oz lorne  sausage !! (Square steak ?? ) so thats the food that was rubbish oh and the bar maid had to run between cooking our food and serving behind the bar it was laughable . The drinks were also overpriced even for a village pub. 
So we'd booked to stay over beforehand so  here's the worst( see the pics !) The bath was a mess, the shower head disgusting ,half the lights didn't work ,needed binoculars to see the mini tv and the fusty smell oh and cobwebs everywhere. No point complaining to the management they're never there and of you do find them they're the most unfriendly people you can meet.

Keep away if you value your health !!! 

What a dump !!

Went in here for a laugh to see how bad it was. The manager was miserable but the girl behind the bar was friendly and cheerful, the ale and food was great and the pub big and airy. A great find , i will return.

What should you expect from a local country inn? A warm welcome from the jolly landlord? Good wholesome food? Happy, friendly service? Clean and pleasant surroundings? A fine range of beers to quench the thirst and delight your tastebuds?

"A pint of your finest IPA please, mi' good man" you might say....

DON'T BE SO NAIVE YOU FOOL!

This is the Globe at Overton, formerly a very good establishment where the above expectations would be met and often exceeded but now sadly fails in every department. The jolly landlord has morphed into a surly, miserable fellow with people skills that are more akin to Rudolph Hess. The 'food' is just plain awful, it was just about edible and it stopped me feeling hungry, that is all. Cleanliness is in short supply, everything is sticky and there's a strange smell about the place, imagine a mixture of moth balls, Grandma's house and yesterday's soup and you'll be close. I noticed Rudolph getting even more miserable when he spotted a small dog in a family party, I imagine that hygiene concerns were the reason for this, however I think that the small dog in question could probably do a better job than the obviously broken Hoover by eating any discarded chips etc on the floor.

We ending up laughing it was so bad. This place is hilarious!

The 2 ladies manning the bar were very pleasant if truth be told so Rudolph, if you're reading this please don't blame them for this review because the book stops with you.

I read with interest once that approximately 30 pubs close each week in Britain and that this is a source of much concern among various communities around the country. People of Overton, be very concerned.

So bad that we were laughing!

After a bracing afternoon in Morecambe we went for a late lunch, we've been several time's in the past to the globe, noticed the buildings up for sale looks very tired from the  outside and needs a good decorating inside We got a nice welcome once inside, we ordered a large pot of tea and fish & chips didn't wait very long to be served the foods plain and simple hot taste and filling.

Saturday lunch

The hotel is very nicely located in a very rural area. But the rooms are already very crowded, the bed was trembling, the lamps on the bed were off. By 7:00 p.m. there was nothing left to eat. The light in the bathroom was very dark, everything went down a bit. However, we were there shortly after the great flood.
