Having read the reviews today we agree with them all! It is an old house in a wood with lovely gardens.  Our 2 dogs were made welcome. Inside presents better than outside, with obvious care to refurbishment in many areas. The lack of room TVs is fine if there are no classes eg Wimbledon and Euro Semi Finals! There is wifi although probably, like many rural areas, not good enough for anyone needing it for work work. There is also a laundry room for guest use.
There was a good cooked breakfast, lovely fruit salad, variable bread for self service toast, and limited individual packets of cereal. Dinner was more of a challenge for us. Soup was superb the first night and poor the second. Main course salad was more of a large side salad and was over priced and not a main course, but fish pie was large and OK. Portion sizes were variable and some really quite small. The menu is limited and does not appear to change, and there are no specials. The wine selection was fine and the prices were vert good.
We had booked a room with bath, which was changed to a superior ground floor floor room because of the dogs. However, we were taken to a first floor room with a shower, by the host with whom we had booked! We asked for a bath and then taken to a second floor room. This did have a bath, but it was past its sell by date, with rust around the plug hole and plaster streaks? in the bath. There was though plenty of hot water, and the bath was big and OK if you could look past the defects! Otherwise the room was fine with tea and coffee, but no biscuits!
Overall, there were ups and downs. The hotel is run by a couple who must work very hard, but we did hear some tires/ irritable comments which made us feel a bit uneasy. However, life must be very difficult for everyone in hospitality with covid. For us, reading the reviews, we would say it just depends on how much weight you put on the good/unsatisfactory areas to decide what you think of Ord House.

Curates egg!

Arrive via a winding woodland road to the view of a beautiful old building.Once inside its uniqueness is so relaxing with old world charm.A lovely warm greeting from Eliza and shown to a beautiful room on the ground floor as she had read my request for easy access. The room was clean,warm and very comfortable everything just perfect. The food was exceptional and the cosy bar was so relaxing and the log fire well stocked. The grounds are worth a walk around and the dogs who live at the hotel are part of the charm. An excellent base for touring that part of the country and we will definitely go back.The photo is a side view of the hotel

A hidden gem in Scotland

More of a large guest house than hotel - but in a good way

Nice spacious room but was quite cold

Food was honest home cooked offerings but quite expensive ie restaurant prices in a country guest house 
They seem to have more relaxed Covid rules - staff don't wear masks but keep their distance and a breakfast help yourself buffet of cereals and juice etc which qas surprising in these times
Another guest kept on complaining that staff didn't have masks on and was but she was part of 4 x couples booked in together and mixing as an 8 at dinner / breakfast and in the lounge - hypocrite springs to mind
On the whole an enjoyable overnight  NC500 stay

Old charming house 

We just had a one night stay in an executive double room was awakened at 6am with the boiler outside our window roaring away. The owner was not interested in our complaint about this saying nobody else had complained. Someone else had reviewed it as very old fashioned we would say that it’s passed it’s sell by date. It was shabby no pressure in shower very uncomfortable bed needs updating very overpriced and disappointing

Hugely disappointing Hotel

Booked last minute for an overnight on return from a weeks holiday further up north. Very impressive big house tucked away at the end of a tree lined drive. Had my doubts at first, as it seemed too quiet and lacking in TLC, but, what a welcoming place. The hotel (house) is dated, but in keeping with the character of the place. It is actually full of character and we found it very relaxing. Nothing like the big hotel chains with hustle and bustle and no personality. The staff we met were all lovely and extremely helpful. The food is worth the visit alone, dinner and breakfast were superb. We will definitely be back. If you are looking for quiet relaxation then this is the place to be. The resident labrador dogs were the icing on the cake for us, lovely walks around the grounds and of course the resident chickens and their free range eggs for breakfast. Loved it all.

Hidden gem

Ord House Hotel is a good choice for anyone wanting to be in the countryside but within easy reach of Inverness. The building is crammed with character and is in a great, quiet location.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming.
This is definitely not a modern "chain", so some people may find the decor a little dated but the rooms were clean and well equipped.
I would recommend the breakfast - good portions and simple, traditional fayre.
I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

Off the beaten track but worth searching for

A super, small family run hotel. I had a very comfortable night here. The bar is well stocked, everyone was exceptionally friendly and my stay was finished off with an excellent breakfast. I’ll definitely return here when in the area next year. 

A little gem

This hotel has been described by others as "quaint" and "charming".  It is both of those.  Yes, slightly faded and higgledy-piggledy, but nicely presented in a fabulous, pretty and peaceful location.  Excellent breakfast, menu for dinner could do with a little more work.  Staff excellent, enthusiastic and apparently nothing too much trouble - really nice ambience.  Excellent for what it is and fantastic and charming base from which to explore the area.

Hits the spot

Ord house has an absolute charming atmosphere and is run by a young and attentive couple. 

Ord house has a warm and homely interior with generous lounge space. I especially liked the bar and it's down to earth atmosphere. There is nothing stiff or pretentious about the place. 

The old leather couch in front of the fire place is just as comfortable as you could hope for and the ever so lovingly old house dog Poppy is equally loyal and devoted to every new guest.

Absolutely charming and very cosy.

Just what you expect! Charming environment, pleasant hosts, lovely place settings, fresh tea and house made sweets. The owners aged black lab greeted us and very sedately kept us company throughout.

The home dates to the 17th Century and in the center hall the home’s original stone slab floors are still in use.
