I arrived and no one was at the front desk. I rang the bell and waited for a while before a  young man came down. He gave me my key but did not direct me to my room or take me there. It took a little while to find as I was outside separate to the main hotel.
    I’d  had a busy journey traveling from England, I had been in the car for eight hours. 
  The amenities were basic and definitely need of a re-Ferb. I’ve stayed in a few hotels in Nairn over the past two months and this I have to say for the price you pay was very disappointing. 
 At 11 o’clock at night I was woken by three or four Indian  staff members shouting and being very loud and raucous right outside my window. They were smoking marijuana and my window was open. My room was filled with smoke as I was on ground floor accommodation . I suffer from asthma. 
I asked them to stop they did not do so immediately. And only on my second time of asking and being irate did they then go?
 I was then really worried that my car would  be damaged as they had my numberplate and could not get to sleep from thinking about this. 
I definitely wouldn’t go back there again when there’s so many other hotels of a much higher standard . No one was on the front desk in the morning to take my complaint . Disappointing 

Drug smoking staff 

My Wife and I, and another couple stayed in the Clubhouse Hotel for a weekend visit to Nairn. We had a great stay and really enjoyed the Hotel. Our friends were given a room outside in the recently added "extension" to the hotel. This was fine for them as they had their dog with them. We had Dinner in the hotel on two evenings and had no complaints about the food, although a Prawn Cocktail served on kale was a bit weird! The bar was nice and the staff were all friendly and helpful, Monica the barmaid was great and we had some laughs with her, hopefully she is settling into her job more easily every day after starting work at the Hotel quite recently.  We have no complaints about the hotel and had a great stay. Will stay again if visiting Nairn.

Lovely stay at the Clubhouse.

Lovely hotel, amazing, friendly staff. Restaurant food is delicious. I stay here regularly on business and always disappointed if no rooms left and need to stay elsewhere. 5 min walk to beach. Highly recommend

Avoid at all cost  !!
Arrived an hour before check in, hotel locked up ! Returned around 4pm, no receptionist. Two men quickly turned up to check us in. We had requested a ground floor room due to my friends walking difficulties, no joy  ..  up the stairs  !!
No breakfast available,  5 minute walk to sister hotel for that !
Asked where the bar was  .. bar closed today !!
Asked where the restaurant was  .. no food available today.
Apparently this "establishment" is up for sale  ... please don't bother booking !!
On the positive side, one of the men gave me the number of another hotel close by, The Invernairne, what an absolute dream ..  review of this hotel posted later. 

Avoid at all costs  . .

Avoid! Room 14 is in an annexe which isn’t fit for purpose. We didn’t have our towels changed or toilet rolls replaced until we complained 3 days in. Even then, these were simply dumped on our bed- beds not made up, bins not emptied and room not cleaned at all during our stay. It is in an annexe which is treacherous- unsafe outside due to ongoing building work and no door bar which means leaves and other debris blows in which lands on the floor. Corners of the room really dirty and dusty - could be doing with a thorough clean. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel in case you get this room. It’s like an extension has been added by rogue builders who have half finished the job- the noise from the upstairs loft was horrendous - it sounded as if the people were in the room with us when they got up- not up to standard. Nothing 4 * about this hotel. 

Annexe was terrible- half finished building site which is left out of cleaning and fresh towels schedule 

We stayed there 23 September 2022, as pointed out by Jez S below, the stairs to rooms 7-9 are steep, narrow with very shallow steps, certainly not suitable for elderly and I don't know how Building Control allow such a dangerous access stair.  Second problem was no breakfast is served at the hotel, we had to take a 10 minute walk in pouring rain to West End Hotel and present a breakfast voucher.  Third problem was no 'Dinners', all that was available were fast food bar suppers served in the bar.  We also learned that West End Hotel only serve breakfasts and if you stay there and wasn’t dinner, guess where you have to go ... around the corner to Clubhouse Hotel, for a bar supper!  The one star rating is for the Manageress at The Clubhouse, she seemed to have to do everything, I don't know how she coped.

No Breakfast, No Dinners just bar suppers and Dangerous Stairs to Rooms 7-9

Only two stars are for Kaya on reception. Lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Our twin room on the first floor at the front however was drab and worn, badly in need of updating. Pillow with old blood stains (washed but obviously not removed). Curtains that don't close (just there for show). Ok there were blinds on the windows but why hang curtains that don't move? Sheet of paper as a shower mat. Mixer tap over sink was stiff to the point of barely working. Wi-Fi didn't work. Reception said it 'depended where you were in the hotel'! Reception is only manned for a few hours from 3pm until bar closes at 9. Really weird. Get the feeling this place is just taking the money but putting nothing back in to improve the place. The decor is garish. Lots of mirrors hung in strange places. Badly needs a make-over. Such a shame as it is a lovely old building. We were visiting friends in Nairn so did not eat in the restaurant. We had booked for two nights but left after one. They have a 4-star on the name board outside. This hotel needs to be re-graded as it does not live up to any 4-star hotel we have ever stayed in. If you are looking for 4-star facilities don't stay here.

Shabby

The Clubhouse Hotel was a pleasant surprise.  A boutique hotel on a quiet street with a beautiful, well appointed room with large bathroom with shower and tub, heated towels, great size TV, comfortable bed, sitting area, desk, table.  The restaurant offered great food choices and drinks with quality service.   The staff was always friendly and helpful.  
Parking was plentiful and free, and if you were looking for alternative transport the town bus station is an easy ten minute walk (with bus service every half hour to Inverness) and the train station is only a fifteen minute walk.  
We were given a option of breakfast at a nearby sister property, since the restaurant is not open for breakfast.  
Overall, a great place, and one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland!

What a great little place

This is a modernised hotel with very good facilities plus the rooms are well appointed,
the staff are also friendly and helpful. 
Our evening meal in the restaurant was good and a reasonable price
If you need breakfast it’s a five minute walk to the sister hotel round the corner as they don’t do breakfast the hotel. 
Our only fault was the soap dispenser near the wash hand basin was broken apart from that we enjoy our stay and would go back.

Excellent place to stay

Visited tonight with friends hidden gem, customer service was excellent, was a really busy night, food was awesome thank you to Kaya, Wayne and the young staff you were superb hopefully be back soon ..
