I have travelled the world (mostly with my wife) and stayed in many hotels from luxurious to dirt cheap. I stayed at Littlestones last months so that I could experience the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. Littlestones is far from "posh" but staying there was certainly by far the most enjoyable experience I have ever had in a hotel. It started with my phone call tp ask for accommodation. All I was asked for was my first name and told "Just call me 15 minutes before you arrive" (I was driving). He could tell from my voice that I was a senior so he gave me a room on the bottom floor. Very spacious (even a walk-in closet) with a large comfortable bed (and some cooking facilities akin to North American motels).
The basement floor was just a few steps down with three sofas and a big-screen TV (there are also TVs in the rooms of course).
Parking is free and right in front of the hotel. Breakfast is not included but available across the street at the train station. I spent some very pleasant time with two permanent residents and one night there were a bunch of us watching sports in the basement room.A most-enjoyable experience.Now I come to a must-experiencepart of the review. It is right across the street from the main station of the railway. The previously-mentioned railway is the world's smallest regularly-scheduled railway. The steam engines stand about 4 feet high and are dead-on copies of full-sized steam engines. They pull up to about 30 passenger cars. This is no fairground ride. Riding from one end to the other takes about 2 hours (look for Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch on the south-east coast of England on a map). At one end is the Dungeness Lighthouse (say Hi to ticket-taker June for me) Climb to the top and get the view outside. One good plan is riding the train from main-station Romney to that end and have breakfast in the End-of-the-Line Restaurant, than catch another train back. After visiting the Lighthouse of course 
The train station at Romney (actually New Romney) has a model railroad exhibit building with some working layouts.

My most enjoyable Hotel experience ever! And What a Train-ride!

The property is tired and needs updating. Website is 7 yrs old and misleading photos.
Room was basic, no breakfast included and for £108 for 1 night was steep. I would not of booked the hotel normally but was an emergency unplanned stop over. Everything done via txt  which is a little annoying.  Would not stay again.

Not value for money

Enjoyed my stay at littlestone hotel. Clean comfortable room. And everything  l needed.  10 minute walk to the beach.  And a lovely village to visit.  Highly recommend and am going back very soon myself. .....

Great place to visit and stay.

We walked in and walked straight back out again.  This a a tired, run down establishment that operates mostly as a Boarding House.  The rooms and their content are tired and run down, bedding and mattresses old and worn and not even sure that the bottom sheet had been laundered.  No wardrobe or chest of drawers in the room we were given. One bottle of hand gel on a table in what could loosely be described as the reception area.  We were paying £97 per night; owner only agreed to refund one night.  Much, much better small hotels and guest houses to stay in than this one and more competitively priced.  Astounded at the good reviews this hotel has had - can't understand it.  I'm not unreasonable, but this was truly awful. Definitely would NOT recommend.

Boarding House not a Hotel

Just come back from 5 nights at Littlestone Hotel. Had room 16 which is on ground floor with view of car park, room was a little small but very good value for money. Located near the beach ( 10 mins walk) also next to Romney steam railway, nice chip shop and also kebab shop. Parking was a little tight on driveway but you can use railway parking if needed. Parking was free. Sainsburys nearby too. Dino the manager/ owner was very friendly and his housekeeper was nice too. This is a very reasonable priced accommodation so squeaky floorboards and a bit of dust here and there are to be expected. Surprisingly quiet at night as pub/ hotel ,chip shops nearby. I spent a lot of time on Kent coast as I live in East London so 90 mins away. I would definitely return. If you are a very fussy person then I would advise you find somewhere else. For me is was good.

Dino The Manager is extremely helpful always there to help with anything.
Clean safe covid compliant hotel.
The cleaner Josephine is also great.
Very good shower plenty of hot water, hotel is only ten minutes from the beach, ten minutes from Sainsbury's and an Indian, Chinese,Fish and Chips, and Kebab shop all minutes away.

Dino and Jose were very friendly and helpful owners, were there when needed. Rooms were nice with decent space and good en-suite. Shared kitchen was very spacious with plenty of refrigerator space also.

Littlestone Hotel Experience

I stayed for a few weeks at Littlestone Hotel. My room was perfect for myself and children. The place is always tidy and well kept with en suite and kitchenette. Dino is by far the best hotel owner I have ever met, he is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure his guests are as happy as can be. He is genuinely a rare gem. I'm very happy to have stayed at the Littlestone hotel and will always be my first choice in the New Romney area. I went in a guest and left with a friend for life.

My Home from Home.

We booked 20 minutes before we arrived after realising how disgusting Pontins was. On arrival we had a friendly greeting, all the help we needed and our room was ready. Lovely comfy, quiet nights sleep, great little kitchenette and bathroom, plus more shared cooking facilities and laundry available (although we were only here two days). Staff are very friendly and helpful, just had a lovely holiday and saved our little break! 

Perfect! 

Great stay. Very clean, welcoming rooms. Great for family’s. There were 9 of us!!! 
We were visiting family for an 18th Birthday party 🥳 
My brother in-law recommended this place and I’m glad he did. 
As a plus the next morning as we were leaving. We realised the Romney Marsh steam railway was just over the road. So we popped in there too. 😊
