We had originally intended to stay at number 21 in the summer, but due to COVID-19 we were unable to go. We were given the option by Ian and Jan to re-book or have  a refund.  we chose to re-book having stayed at number 21 last year and had a lovely time.
Obviously this trip was going to be somewhat different as Northumberland was under extra restrictions when we visited. We were reassured immediately by all the extra precautions in place; hand sanitizers, UV and Ozone cleaning etc. Even though all guests needed to be aware of the necessary new Governmental rules  it hardly impacted on our holiday. Our hosts were determined to ensure we had a good time.
In spite of needing to wear PPE our hosts were able to maintain their usual warm welcome and we still felt at home straight away.  Every effort was made to accommodate our extra needs (Vegan food for instance) and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts every morning. In fact they set us up for the day.  Back to toast tomorrow for us!
Thanks to both for a wonderful stay this year has been tough for all of us, but we are both very grateful that you still welcomed us into your home :)

Long weekend in New Biggin at number 21

From the moment we stepped through the front door we were made to feel very welcome. Both Ian and Jan are observing the guidelines around Covid-19 so we also felt very safe. Ian was most informative about the things to see and do in the town and where the best restaurants were to be found, all of which is only a short stroll along the sea front. The room was larger than we thought it would be, the bed was very clean and was comfortable. Good size bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast was fantastic and all freshly made to order. Thank you Ian and Jan for a lovely stay.

Lovely B&B

Lovely two nights spent at No.21 which we really enjoyed in this outstanding seaside town which is totally unspoilt.Thank you Ian and Jan for making us so welcome in your beautiful clean and comfortable hotel that we could not fault,and for making us feel so safe.

Newbiggin weekend break

We stayed for 2 nights during the Great North Run. Lovely room, very comfortable bed and en-suite. Tea and coffee making facility.  Delicious breakfasts and nothing too much trouble. Also very near the sea and well worth a walk along the promenade. We would highly recommend!

Warm friendly welcome  very clean comfortable room  delicious freshly cooked breakfast  great value for money few minutes walk to sea front 
would definitely recommend to friends and family when visiting Newbiggin

Overnight stay

The host was super at looking after our bikes and made our trip very enjoyable.The room was spotless and had a lovely attached bathroom. He gave us lots of advice of places to visit for food, there really were only two places. A freshly made breakfast was on hand and the whole place was really homely

Amazing place to stay

We had a massive room with a settee and 2 chairs. A very large comfortable bed with lots of nice pillows.  The whole place was spotlessly clean.  It was very central.  The breakfast was amazing, full English  fresley cooked. Jan and Ian the couple who own it are lovely and cant do enough for you.

Fabulous B & B

Went to stay at Number 21 for a few nights whilst looking for a property to buy.
Ian & Jan were fantastic hosts very knowledgeable about the area, the B & B was lovely, the bedroom was massive the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great (good bacon and sausage not the cheap stuff).
Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.


Brilliant 

Don’t be put off by the external photos / appearance of No 21 …. They do the property an injustice.

Externally the building looks drab and uninspiring – internally it is anything but.

The great experience begins with the friendly welcome from Ian and Jan who immediately make you feel at home.

The room is anything but drab and dreary. First of all it’s large, fresh, bright and airy, the sort of room you could happily stay in all day if it was lashing down with rain outside.

The bed was comfortable and there was a comfortable sofa if you just wanted to kick your shoes off and watch TV.

The B&B is close to the seafront but in a quiet location. Approaching the promenade from the B&B you do a double take as you come down the steps – I’ll say no more as I don’t want to spoil the effect.

The B&B is also a short walk from the town centre where there are several restaurants.

When we thought it could not get any better we came for breakfast. Many B&B’s let themselves down by going for the cheapest ingredients – not so here – we both agreed this is the best cooked breakfast we’ve had in a long time, cooked to order by Ian, using premium ingredients – no value sausages here thankfully.

Newbiggin is a good base for exploring the delights of Northumbria and when we return to the area we will definitely be booking in here again.
