A warm welcome by the hosts on my arrival, really pleasant and chatty. Great location, my room looked straight on to the beach. Local to amenities.  Bed was so comfy, best 3 nights sleep I have had in ages. Would stay again

Lovely Hotel

Just spent a wonderful 5 nights at the Captain’s Lodge. The double room with sea view was superb and the sea view was absolutely stunning. Kathy was lovely, welcoming and friendly and a font of knowledge on local history and things to do in the area. The room was spacious and very clean and freshly stocked each day with tea, coffee and biscuits. The optional breakfast was amazing and well worth the money. Thank you Kathy for a great stay!

Great stay - superb host

Brilliant stay here. Cath the host was amazing went above and beyond for us. Nice little chats with Cath. Brilliant place and friendly, amazing sea view from room was nice to sit and chill and watch the Sea and the world go by. Lovely breakfast great price for it too well worth the money. Brilliant and nice base to go explore Northumberland. In future if we decide to go to Northumberland will definitely stay at Captains Lodge in Newbiggin By the Sea.  Thanks again Cath. Fantastic 

 Were on a cycling tour  My husband booked the Captain's Lodge for two nights as a treat and a luxurious change from camping. We had a safe place for our bikes. We were right on the seafront and overlooked the famous couple statue. Our room was immaculate and the sound of the sea lulled us to sleep. Kath provided an excellent breakfast each morning.

Rest Day at Newbiggin

We recently stayed for a 2 night break at the Captains Lodge B & B.
This place is so homely, our room had a  four poster bed and a fantastic sea view, looking out to the couple statue, the first time  you see it you would swear  the people are real.
Kathy the owner made the best breakfast on our trip around Scotland and Northumberland  and we loved your breakfast room,it was so cosy, you don't  want to leave.
Thanks for  a lovely stay.
Will definitely  return.

Superb Seaview room

We're just back from a five night stay at the Captain's Lodge. The location was perfect for exploring Northumberland, and we enjoyed a nightly stroll along the promenade, which was right outside the front door.
Our room was spotlessly clean and well stocked with tea & coffee. The four poster bed was comfortable, with good quality linen, and the bathroom was small but with a great shower and beautifully soft towels. The decor in the room was beautiful and it had plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.
The breakfast room was lovely too and the breakfasts were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for our host Kathy. She even got me a jar of the homemade marmalade that I'd been enjoying so much.
We loved that part of Northumberland and would love to go back, and we'd have no hesitation in staying with Kathy again. She was so welcoming and friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and really added to our enjoyment of our holiday.

Lovely guesthouse with a wonderful host

We had a sea view double room it was spotless and just what we wanted with wonderful sea views. Kathy the owner was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast well it was wonderful lots of choice. We will definitely go again. It also has a lovely garden to sit and watch the waves.

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay.  The room was lovely with a gorgeous view.  The breakfast was excellent.  
We also enjoyed sitting in the garden.

Katherine is an excellent host, she even found some chimney pots for me.

Excellent break

We had a lovely couple of days at this bed and breakfast, the view from our room was beautiful and we even managed to spot dolphins with the binoculars that were provided.
Kathy was friendly, helpful and a very pleasant host. The breakfast was extra at  £5 each but worth every penny .
We really enjoyed exploring the area and would definitely stay at the Captain’s Lodge again.

Wonderful sea view from bedroom

The owner, Kathy is just a gem. Helpful, caring, professional...and she has a great sense of humour. Her knowledge of the local community was just what we needed to help us with our family tree fact finding. Within a hour of arriving Kathy had sourced a local historian friend and set up for us to meet her. Thankyou again, Kathy for your help.

Everything at the Captain's Lodge was spotless . Our room and en suite was clean, airy, well decorated and obviously very well maintained. There is very safe and secure parking spot and all the shops, pubs and other eateries are within a 5 minute walk. Breakfast is optional which was fine with us as we tend to eat later in the day and all the tea, coffee and biscuits and fresh milk in little cartons were to hand on our room and topped up daily. As everything is so nearby getting a takeaway is easy and we were made welcome to use her dining room.

We are planning a return visit in the very near future and look for to staying with her again.
