We were given check in information via email prior to arrival - no sign of hosts throughout whole stay. The room may have been the biggest, however it felt incredibly cramped as there were bunk beds right next to the double. Very little room for storage. The fridge was filthy and had mould inside. Paper cups were provided for coffee and tea. The room was clean and the location was perfect, but there was no option for breakfast and no parking. Won't be returning. 

Disappointing

Worst place you could ever want to stay at.
The room was very small and it was dirty not cleaned properly.
The fridge is small and don’t work properly and 
The tv is from the 70s with bad picture and sound 
I was surprised it was still in working order to be honest.
I would not recommend and would avoid at all costs!

Cheap and Nasty

My family and i had a fab 4 days in newquay. Andrew and judith excellent hosts. Very wecoming and very helpful. I booked 2 double rooms which had on suite showers/toilets. 
Breafast was excellent . Cooked breakfast every day with a different extra each day. Helped ourselves to cereals to if u wanted them.  B and b situated very close to the beach and town and shops. My boys loved the beach and the arcades. I recommend this place. Yes it's small but fantastic hosptality and quiet.   Thank you. Andrew and judith.

Family week away in newquay

Our room and ensuite were "compact" at best, room name "The Mousehole" clearly describes it. The room was clean but bed linen was "offwhite". Towels were not changed during our four nights stay. Parking is tight - we have an Astra, anything bigger could be a problem. We thought the breakfasts were quite good; fresh fruit, cereal and varied hot dish each day. Location is good with many restaurants and pubs in easy walking distance. We stayed four nights at an average cost of 55 pounds/night + parking. In our opinion that is reasonable value for money.

Rating rescued by the breakfast

On arrival we were greeted by Judy it was all a little clumsy but had been given the basic details of breakfast times, choices, etc 

the room was very dated and old fashioned and needs a revamp but everything you need provides towels, hot drinks, fridge, tv, a few bottles of water in the fridge would be a nice touch for someone who doesn't drink tea or coffee 
The hand soap is watered down so be careful as it shoots out on use 

The breakfast room is small and houses all guests , good selection of cereals and spreads and cooked breakfast offered - only basic Aldi brands though 

Me and my friend came with our sons age 8 and 5 they were not tolerated very well at all despite being well behaved children - even other guests commented on how rude Judy was with them at breakfast each morning ( see their own review next one down ) I do not believe it's her place to tell our children to be quiet when only talking to each other 
They were holding the table name place cards and Judy came over and took them off them and said " don't touch them they are for other guests" which I thought was very rude when they were only holding them !!!!!
We were so annoyed by the belittling of the children we didn't say goodbye on leaving and left the keys at the door to avoid conflict 

The parking is very poor and difficult , too tight to fit 3 large cars easily 

The guesthouse is close to the centre and local amenities which is a positive as you can walk to all local  shops easily 

I would not stop here again and £70 a night is too high for what's provided - the guests lounge was out of use during our stay it was full of art materials, paints, fabrics etc from the owners 



Old fashioned and not a place for children 

On arrival we were greeted by the homeowners who were very welcoming and helpful.
The Guest House itself is extremely dated and could do with a revamp. However, it was very clean and tidy. 
Breakfast was enjoyable and a good variety of cereals and teas etc were also available for those not keen on a full English. 
I found Judy to be not so tolerant of the younger guests... often scolding them when not necessary in the breakfast room, which made myself and other guests feel uncomfortable!
I think they charge slightly too much for what you get, but if you're looking for a clean place to rest your head and central to Newquay then I would recommend.... if you have young children you may want to stay somewhere else.

Could be improved....

The room was perfectly adequate with all standard needs, including the shower en-suite.  The full breakfast was well cooked good for the day to follow.  Off road parking was provided but limited.  Staff were always friendly and helpful from arrival to checking out.  If you wanted a short stay, a week or even two weeks the I could recommend this B&B.  It is also only just off the high street ( a bonus) with all its food and shops.  Who needs Hotels with their fancy prices?  The Silver Jubilee B&B is Highly Recommended.
