A very clean room. Very comfortable bed with nice pillows. Plenty of tea, coffee and sugar in the room. Hosts John and Kay went above and beyond for us. They were a lovely couple and advised us on places to go. We are already talking about going again. Thank you both for a great weekend. Rachel and Darren Berry.

Excellent hotel

Left stranded at 9pm at night over 250 miles from home after the hotel cancelled my booking because we were stuck in 8 hours of traffic through no fault of our own.

Refused to extend check in, told us it was our own fault and cancelled the full booking (while keeping our money) rather than allow us to sleep in our car and arrive the next day during check in hours for the final 2 nights.

I understand T&Cs but where is politeness, hospitality and flexibility?
I have never known anyone so rude...and to cancel our booking and keep our money so they could also benefit from inflated bank holiday prices is disgusting.

Book with caution...get your lawyers to check the T&Cs and don't expect any support, flexibility or kindness if anything out of your control happens.

Extremely disappointed by the commercial greed of this property...thank goodness we didnt have children with us.

Rude host, cancelled our booking but kept our money, leaving us stranded. Beware when booking.

Clean room but outdated, small bathroom. First day asked what we would like for breakfast, but after that took for granted that we would have the same each time. Buttering my toast when my full English was brought out so felt rushed. As for host John he was unpresentable wearing dirty tops. Only had two biscuits on tray for 4 day stay. Bins were not emptied till friend asked if they could empty hers, and she was told to leave bin outside room so they could change bin bag. Had to give £100 per room up front for damage or if you marked bath mat or towels. Playing a card game when John the host came in and said he usually sets up table for breakfast but would do it in morning. Then came back later saying he thought we had gone which it was only 9.15pm so we finished game as we felt unwelcome. Also had his wife Karen watching us from a bedroom window. The only person who was nice was Donna who we met on our last day.

Didn't feel welcome in they Bnb Felt like we were the naughty school kids. And John was the head master

We would definitely stay at the Blue Haven Guest House again.
John and Kay were extremely friendly and certainly made our Breakfast fun.

Everything was clean and tidy and nothing was to much trouble. 
The bed was really comfortable and the room was fine.

We would just like to say to John "  Beans "

A Wonderful stay

Breakfast had lots of choice and they were happy to change things to suit. The owners and staff couldn’t have been more helpfully and pleasant. They were always smily, friendly and chaty. Location was very good and close to beach. Off road parking which is a godsend. The room had everything we needed, bathroom a little small but completely adequate. Bed was comfy. Couldn’t fault anything. We will be back as soon as possible. It was perfect week. Thank you so much Małgorzata with hubby and girls😘😘😘

My wife booked accommodation for end of May 2021 , paying for one unsuite room for 2 adults at Blue Haven Guest House. During the booking process, my wife didn't manage to add our 7 yrs old daughter on same booking to sleep with us the parents - our daughter usually sleep at home with us in the same bed, we enjoy co-sleeping since she was little. In all holidays we booked so far in England and outside, we have been allowed to have our little daughter to co-sleep with us in same bed, never been charged extra for this, also always we have been prepared to pay extra as needed. 

Subsequently I have contacted Blue Haven via email asking permission to bring our little daughter, asking permission for her to sleep with us her parents in same bed, and I offered to pay extra for breakfast for her. We have been told by Blue Haven's admin person that they not able to accommodate our request, Blue Haven has a "strict T&C in place due to safety reasons", they suggested to book 2nd room with them - and I have explained politely that our little daughter doesn't sleep on her own in separate rooms as she is afraid to sleep on her own. Therefore I have asked for a full re-found to be able to book alternative accommodation somewhere else, but Blue haven admin said they don't to any re-founds at all, again have a "strict policy with no re-found" if service not needed any more!

We found Blue Haven admin person on the phone very abrupt and rude, being is very inflexible with our needs as customers, not valuing us as customers. I am not happy with Blue haven refusing to re-found us for a service we have not used. I will make further complains to recover our money as per normal, any customer have the right to get his money back if change his mind and doesn't want to use any more a service or a good.

Awful customer service and experience

All ways a warm  well come from john and Kay the rooms are always fresh and very clean that are working very hard to keep on top of the virus  at the moment  and all ways a good breakfast to set you up for the day

Lovely stay at Blue Haven. Spotlessly clean with comfortable rooms. 20 minute walk to town and situated in a quiet area. Lovely breakfast to set you up for the day with nice hosts. Would recommend a stay here 😁

Pertect

Very small b&b, rooms adequate for coming and going, 30 minute walk into Newquay town, room itself was ok, bathroom was very small. Breakfast was nice. Parking is a good. 

Unfortunately the let down for us and the reason for the low rating is was having my card charged £20 a week later with NO notification from the b&b for the marks on the bath mat (that to our knowledge didn’t get changed during our stay) and the towels (although our own towels were used) 

Small suggestion of contacting guests when taking money from their bank account.

3 night stay

We arrived at the Blue Haven on a cold and wet blustery June evening and were heartened that the owners (John & Kay) had very thoughtfully put the heating on in our room. We couldn't have asked for more from this Guest House as it was welcoming and friendly. The room - while not over large - was sufficient for our 2 night stay - and the en suite bathroom with electric shower was "compact" but functional!
Breakfast was a delight with choices of cereals, fruit juices and the obligatory "Full English" with toast, tea & coffee. 
Our hosts couldn't have been more cheerful and friendly  - so much so that we will return again when we next visit Cornwall . Thank you John & Kay - we'll maybe try the hot tub next time!
