Wefound the welcome, warmth and comfort of the Dower House - and the fabulous attention we received from hosts Lynda and Eric - contributed to a great stay in Newtonmore. The breakfasts ate the best we’ve ever had in a bnb - thank you very much x

A fab stay at the Dower House

Staying 3 nights and don’t want to leave. 
Very friendly and welcoming  hosts. The accommodation is very nicely furnished to a high standard. Absolutely everything you need. 
Lovely home baking awaits you on arrival and the breakfasts are amazing. Beautifully cooked and presented. 
We love this area and now that we have discovered the Dower House we won’t be staying anywhere else.

Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast - choices include pancakes and other hot options like eggs and salmon, as well as freshly baked bread. The location is quiet and on the outskirts of the village, but a short walk to cafes and shops. Excellent. Will return. 

Comfortable, welcoming, great food. A place to return to. 

We enjoyed our one night stay here; even had home-made touches and extras in our room. 
Location is  convenient for both the station and Newtonmore's main street (we enjoyed finding some of the wildcat artistic work as we walked the latter).
A very Covid-sensitive B&B.

We stayed at Dower House during a busy holiday period and feel very lucky to have been able to find a room there. Lynda and Eric are exemplary hosts, serving delicious breakfasts (with loads of choice), offering invaluable advice for activities, plus lots of laughter to go with it all.

The property was also kept very Covid safe and is in a great location for walks and drives. 

Highly recommended!

Top hospitality and gorgeous accommodation

This was our first visit to The Dower House.   Warm welcome from Lynda.     Offered complimentary afternoon tea in the garden was a nice touch.   She is very covid aware which means you feel very safe.   We stayed in Truim which is nearly a suite.  Huge amazing shower room with nice toiletries and nice fluffy towels.
Nice bedroom with large comfortable bed and pllows.  Lynda provided lovely home baking to have with your tea and coffee in room. Eric also provided delicious tablet. Good wifi but no TV.  We never switch on TV when away from home as we wish to escape from such distractions.   Will be TV in lounge but not something of interest .as we prefer reading our Telegraph.
Breakfast was special and served from 7.30 which we loved as early risers.  You chose the night before but the selection is immense and huge variety.  Portions are large so be warned!   Lynda is a talented cook and so many homemade things on offer and Eric makes delicious marmalade and jams.
We did not realise that Lynda does evening meals. Hope to return and will definitely chose to eat at the Dower House next time.

Lovely overnight in scenic area

Really fab 2 nights at the Dower house , lovely homemade food , breakfast best we had all trip and excellent hosts . Would definitely stay if in the area again . And for Eric the pie was a proper pie as they should be 👏

Excellent stay after the speyside way walk

A wonderful weekend in a beautiful location with top accommodation.  Dower House is like a home from home, with the added benefits of fabulous food (that you've not had to cook yourself), comfortable bedrooms and lounge area and added extras such as the delicious cake in a tin which once consumed miraculously refills itself each day!  We also benefitted from evening meals which included the most amazing pavlova and roast lamb which along with the home made marmalades and jams at breakfast made this stay truly outstanding and a pleasure to recommend.

Outstanding accommodation

Stayed here  on a work trip, simply cannot fault the place. Lynda & Eric are tremendous hosts - the COVID regulations are great, the rooms are excellent, the food is perfect. Everything has been thought of & the fresh baking is divine. I’ll definitely return!

Just perfect!

Such a lovely stay for the weekend in a beautiful part of Scotland. Room was well equipped, nice decor, very clean and nice touchs such as an electric blanket for a warm cosy bed and scrummy homemade Brownies and 'tablet' (like fudge) to enjoy with a cuppa. Hosts Linda and Eric were very friendly & attentive and served some lovely evening meals. I recommend Erics homemade pies, good quality ingredients and packed full of filling, delicious! Really handy to have a petrol station with a Co-op a stone's throw away too. All in all, a fab stay, just remember to pack your slippers as there is a no shoes policy.
