This was our 2nd stay at this fabulous hotel in Newtonmore. Both times we have experienced great food, great service and a warm welcome from staff. 

The rooms are comfortable and clean and the beds offered a great sleep.

Simply great. Thoroughly recovered.

We decided on Clune House for one night in the Cairngorms and it did not disappoint. 

We stayed in Creag Beag. The room was tastefully decorated, clean and perfect for relaxing in. The coffee machine was a wonderful sight after a long, cold drive. The bed is also nice and firm.

The Wild Mushroom Bruschetta and Full Scottish Breakfast were delicious and cooked to perfection. It's a shame they don't offer lunch and dinner.

Laura and Bryan are the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. Thank you both! The next time we're going up that way, we will definitely visit again. 

Beautiful House and Room, Delicious Food, Great Hosts

We stayed at Clune House for one night en route to Skye. Laura and Bryan were fabulous hosts. They welcomed us to their home and showed us around. We had a beautiful room facing the Main Street. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the coffee machine and homemade tablet. The en-suite was very fresh with an excellent electric shower and fluffy towels. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast - a fantastic selection of freshly made dishes - well done Bryan! This was our first stay and we will certainly return. This is Laura and Bryan’s first season and they have thought of everything. A lovely place to stay with every attention to detail - thank you🙏❤️

5 star BnB !

We stayed here for one night in September and we only wish we had stayed here for longer. 
We had the most fabulous time, comfy room with all the added little extras including a good quality coffee machine, and some Scottish Tablet on arrival. 

Breakfast was the best we had on our Scottish holiday, the smoked salmon was delicious and the full Scottish breakfast was brilliant. 

Owned by a lovely and friendly couple, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We have already been recommending to family and friends to come and stay here. 

Fantastic one night stay - wish we had stayed longer.

Simply: PERFECT B&B! Vey comfortable room with spacious and modern bathroom. THE BEST breakfast I have ever had a chance to be offered in B&B. Plus absolutely WONDERFUL and dedicated couple running it.
The World would be much better and nicer płace to live in once there was more places like this one.


Piece of EXCELLENCE

This place is 1st class.   Very very good value.   Check out the pictures of the food.... yes it is as tasty as it looks... sheet, pillows, bed are wonderful.  Parking is good.... gravel & no mud in parking lot.....  construction and finishing are professional.   I would think that this place would become hard to book the more people find out about it. 

There are many reasons this place is rated exceptional ...  

Lovely bed and breakfast the hosts were so helpful and friendly from carrying my bags to my room to booking a table for dinner. The room was beautiful and I had the best nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious with a selection of fresh fruit and pastries. I treated myself to pancakes the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely stay again. 

Best B&B

The guest house is very pleasant etc BUT to avoid any embarrassment or awkwardness if you arrive by E bike you  will incur and additional charge to charge your E bike battery. We were charge £10 to charge 2 batteries. The host stated this was a nominal charge but in reality a E bike battery cost nothing like that to charge. No where on the booking website or the host’s websites was a mention of additional charges and I felt like I should have informed the host of our method of transport before we arrived. Just something to factor in on the cost of the accommodation if you are travelling by E bike.

Bryan and Laura are lovely hosts and made me feel very welcome on my four day visit to Newtonmore. The whole place is spotlessly clean, and my room had everthing I needed. 

Internet was strong and fast. The bed was very comfy, the bathroom was spacious, and the bedroom had lots of drawers and a good sized closet. There is a mini-fridge, a water kettle and an espresso maker in the room. They replenish the coffees and provide milk for tea.

Breakfast is served in a beautiful light-filled room, and the selections are varied. Along with dishes made to order, they put out a generous assortment of fruits, cheese, meat, pastries and cereal.

The house is centrally located between the Highland Folk Museum (a must-see!) and the Clan MacPherson Museum (only open Mondays). There is a Co-op grocery two doors down, and a bus stop there as well.  The train stops in Newtonmore, and the walk from the station is not bad if you are fit or don't have heavy luggage. 

Newtonmore does not have local transport other than north/south buses and trains, so walking or driving is the way to get around. There's a taxi but it requires booking in advance. 

The Wildcat Experience is a fun challenge for kids (and adults!) and a fundraiser. Over 100 painted wildcat sculptures are hidden all over Newtonmore. Find as many as you can and put them on a map. If you find more than 25, you can get a prize. The kit (£10) comes in a bright blue bag and includes a booklet with pictures of all the cats, a map, and a wildcat pen. If you look carefully you can see one of the wildcats from the upstairs window at Clune House!

Loch Imrich is a very short walk from the house and well worth it. It's cool and pretty and there are lots of happy ducks - and a wildcat on the lake. 

Restaurants tend to fill up early for dinner, so make reservations as soon as you arrive.  Newtonmore is a lovely place to visit with lots of local history, beautiful scenery, and friendly people, and Clune House is the perfect home base.


Reasonably priced elegance

Good location, ample parking. Comfortable en-suite room, well equipped, small fridge, nespresso machine & even a safe in the wardrobe.  Excellent breakfast & very friendly hosts. High standards of cleanliness & lovely decor - but we were too tired after a long journey to spend time in the spacious lounge downstairs. 
We are used to a higher tog duvet & could have asked for an extra blanket but didn’t. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay & we highly recommend.
