Beautiful hotel, great location, out of the way of everything so no noise
Stayed as an impromptu stop over so didn't know what to expect but would come back with out hesitation
Disappointed the chef was ill on the evening of our visit but the lady running the bar/reception in the evening (Bev I think) whipped up some cooked food for us

Christmas Day lunch was beautiful. 

Just want to say thank you for a lovely Christmas Day meal. The food was outstanding, more than any one person could ever eat. Quality of food high and served by attentive staff. Ambiance just right, cosy and warm. Tables set out at good distance, background music so you could talk and hear each other throughout. 
The cheese and fruit etc after meal was a lovely touch only wish I could eat more.
Hoping you provide the same opportunity to enjoy next Christmas, as a family of x6 we would love to come back again for 2024. 

Thank you all staff and owners for your hard work. As an NHS worker and visiting today after my  Christmas Eve night shift I know the sacrifices staff give to serve and personally want to say thank you for making my Christmas day that much easier not having to cook, we all thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal xxxxxx keep up the good work xxxxx

Christmas Day lunch 2023 

Here 1 night, one of two guests but in a room that overlooks a roof, not one that takes advantage of the lovely countryside. Steak rare not medium rare. Overcharged compared to web prices. Not a great experience.

Poor

The location was a lovely rural setting. The building had some charm about it. The proprietors were willing to facilitate a late arrival, as the ferry didn’t get into Fishguard until 21:30. I was allocated Room 1 which is directly above the lobby. It was a pleasantly furnished room, but unfortunately the soundproofing was really poor and I could hear the front door downstairs slamming shut and conversations were audible too. I did get some rest and the breakfast was included in the price. They were reasonably accommodating of vegetarian diets, but I have to say it wasn’t the best hotel breakfast I had experienced. Shrink wrapped croissants rather than freshly baked ones are not great!

Nice location and quaint property, but poorly soundproofed room

The best carvery around. Amazing quality and flavours. Hope it returns in October as planned. Have been numerous times since they started it and always incredibly tasty. Cauliflower cheese is a favourite.

Sunday lunch

What a pleasant place to stay!

Absolutely spotlessly clean and friendly welcoming staff. Having stayed in places all over the world, I wish all places had the same attitude as this place. You’d be hard pressed to find a speck of dust in the place. 

The hotel is in a lovely peaceful spot. Lovely breakfast and a well stocked bar. 

I will be returning when I find myself in this part of the country again and I would strongly advise others to consider this place too

Perfect place to stay

A secluded hotel in nice surroundings with plenty of parking availability and wifi.
Staff friendly with easy check-in and information on breakfast and meal times.
The hotel does need some modernisation, we had a family room which was a reasonable size.
There was a strong alcahol/beer smell upon entering our room, and we noticed the carpet wasn't in a very good condition.
A good steam clean on the carpets 1 to 2 times a year would give it a good freshening up for sure. 
Also, banning people from taking alcahol to their rooms would be a good idea as I think guests (especially at weddings) are spilling them and leaving them saturate into the carpets.
The breakfast at the hotel was good and didn't have to wait long.
The staff was pleasant, and the lady serving breakfast was very friendly and efficient and is a credit to the hotel.
All in all, the hotel is an average hotel that needs some modernisation, but I'm sure this can easily be done over time. (Definitely new carpets in the room) and new furniture.

Dated room, uncomfortable bed, shower that wouldn't get warm, an average breakfast. Very disappointed with the quality of what was supposed to be a 3* hotel
Don't try and get an answer from the man who answers the phone as he is vague and rude.


Rubbish 

Great evening, good room,good breakfast.  Catered for Gluten and Dairy free in the evening with no issues . Room clean tidy and warm , nice clean bathroom . Reasonable pricing for the time of year. Great

Xmas Family get together

I haven't written a review for a while, but after staying at this hotel, while it's not the most luxurious  I have stayed in, I wanted to recommend it!  It is clean and best of all, has excellent staff.  I stayed in a separate building and the room was fine, warm and with a reasonable bathroom.  I would certainly stay again, if i was in the area.
