When first looking for accommodation, the reviews gave an extremely favourable impression. 
The rooms are furnished in a very old fashioned manner, and are very tired. The heating seemed to be turned on and off on a timer, so when we returned at night the rooms were freezing and remained so throughout the night.
The bed creaked every time I sat on it to get in or out, making me feel like an 80 year old. 
The serving bed in the room was positioned close to one of the windows and these were very drafty with an armchair in front of it, but this left access to and from the bed very limited it was a bit of a squeeze. 
The bedside lamps were touch sensitive but had to go through a sequence before they went off. It was very disturbing for the other person in the room if you needed to turn the lamp on in the night. 
The "ensuite" was adequate, but only just, with a really old electric pump in the shower that fluctuated dangerously from scalding to freezing whilst trying to shower. 
Electric sockets all had extension leads trailing around the room, but not one seemed to be PAT tested.... worse was the total lack of any fire or evacuation procedures/ instructions visible anywhere in the room, the dining room, or anywhere that were visible to us (though fire escapes were visible from the outside) .                                                                              The breakfast was OK, though half a glass of orange juice each was ready poured on the table when we entered the dining room, no cold water was provided.        
The train line embankment at most approx 100 yards from the property, and despite lots of reviews saying they never heard the trains..... we damn well did on both of the nights we stayed!
 Finally,  we don't recommend trying to find this place on a dark wet night. The lane runs through fields, then takes a sharp left and is a single track, where on a dark, very wet night, it's easy to lose visibility and slip off onto the surrounding field.                          
 And no, we won't be returning or recommending.



Very dated and tired interior ..... wouldn't recommend or return!

Absolutely lovely place. Very welcoming,  bedroom had everything you needed and the breakfast was perfect. It had a lovely family feel to it and the owners couldn't do enough for us. We will certainly be returning and highly recommend. 

Faultless

Very welcoming, excellent breakfast with quality produce.
Lovely building and set in a great location. There is a nearby railway but we never heard it. 
The room was very clean with a comfy bed. It’s near a  local village has excellent food options with recommended places to eat detailed in the room
We went to the local chip shop and brought our meal back to the B&B to eat outside on a picnic bench whilst overlooking the farmers field. Lovely and peaceful

Great hosts in an idliicc location

Was very good for the purpose.
Need somewhere comfortable and affordable for our overnight excursion.Quiet which aided a good night's sleep.
Well located and easy to find. Nice rural location whilst adjacent to the town.

Cultural roadtrip

Given the reviews for this hotel I was expecting something great.  To be honest it was like visiting my grandmas house back in the 60’s.  It was awful and it’s only redeeming feature was that we were only there for one night! I would steer clear if I was you.

Never again!

Although we stayed just one night, I can thoroughly recommend this lovely B&B. The host, Carrie, was very welcoming and helpful with local restaurant recommendations. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious (fresh coffee, eggs, toast or full English). Set in rolling farmland, the views are peaceful, bar the occasional train nearby.

Great breakfast, comfortable clean room

We stopped here for one night before we went to the MotoGP at Silverstone. It is set in a gorgeous area with lovely views from the rooms and plenty of walks plus a pretty village within striking distance. The house is comfortable and well furnished; our room was
on the top floor and had amazing views across the fields. Very comfortable and clean with a lovely breakfast the following morning. We were only sorry we could not stay longer but already planning an extra night next year

Beautiful place.

We stayed for four nights in this wonderful owner operated B&B to visit family in Long Buckby.
Nice rooms and a delicious breakfast with fresh fruits, warm items with eggs from own chicken.
Perfect also for families with kids.

We will definitely come back

Wonderful B&B in a perfect setting

Stumbled across Murcott Mill totally by accident - and what a great find!  The hosts’ welcome could not have been warmer, the pretty mill house was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable and the highlight was the full English breakfast.  We will return.

Such a warm welcome

This is a good stopover if you want to break your journey on the M1.  The rooms are on the small side but clean and with all the tea/coffee facilities needed, plus toiletries in the bathroom.  It would be a very peaceful spot, but there is a railway line directly behind the farm house with both goods and passenger trains going past frequently.
