Very well kept accommodation in a lovely location.  Excellent communication. Great value for money. Breakfast served from 7am - 8.30am which was perfect for our two team members who stayed there.  Pubs and food in easy walking distance.  Will happily stay here again if working in the area.

Very well kept rooms

Susan (owner) is the nicest, warmest and most accommodating hotel owner I’ve ever met! 
Rooms are clean, comfy and spacious, with lovely white linen on the beds, which are soft and so comfortable. If you are disabled, or unable to manage stairs, there are a few chalets too.
There is a lovely choice for breakfast, that is freshly cooked to order and yummy. Bathrooms have heated towel rails, powerful showers, shampoo and conditioner and are spotless. Hand wash and hand cream is on the sink too. Towels are clean and fluffy too and extra pillows and a blanket are in the wardrobe. There is an ironing board and iron in there too and a hairdryer in the dresser. Yea and coffee making facilities and biscuits too.
Lovely place to come back to after a busy day out. 
A short walk away is The Telegraph Pub, which cooks delicious gastro quality food, at very reasonable prices. Their Sunday roast is amazing!!

The most amazing hotel ever (and I’ve stayed in five star)

Super friendly, very clean and bed comfortable. Such a cute and quirky old building that is now such a lovely little hotel! Just perfect for location and so accommodating. Great local knowledge and recommendations and I really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely go again if I am in the area.

Really enjoyable stay

We had a long drive down from Hartlepool, and ended up 2 hours behind schedule due to traffic and road closures, however when I called the Hotel to explain, I was met with a cheery voice, saying it was no problem, even pointing out it might be best to get something to eat along the way down. 

When we finally arrived, there was a parking spot reserved for us, which was great, and a friendly smile. Room was at the top, but only a few stairs to climb. Beds were comfy and warm and just what we needed after the marathon drive. The promised cooked breakfast was absolutely fantastic - coffee/tea, cereals, and then a choice of a hot breakfast from a lovely BIG menu. I went for the Full English, which as devine.....

Overall, the experience was brilliant, and the price of the room, which includes breakfast and parking, was only a fraction more than what we might have paid for at a travel lodge, and was certainly better than the hotel we stayed in the previous night.

If I am being picky, my only criticism is the shower, which compared to our home shower, was not that strong, however, a small point which I will gloss over, especially as we were on the top floor.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, and the surrounding village. Lovely!!

A fabulous experience - would definitely recommend

A warm welcome from Susan the proprietor. Everything about the hotel was explained. We were given room 22 within the main hotel as there are some rooms attached. The room was nicely laid out with sofa, comfy bed, TV on the wall and tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits and complementary bottled water. The room was nice and clean. The adjoining bathroom was adequate and again clean. 
Although the hotel restaurant is not currently serving lunch or evening meals, Susan recommended some nice pub/restaurants in this pretty little Northamptonshire village. 
Breakfast is served early between 07:00 & 08:30. Nicely laid out the self serve selection is plentiful with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and fresh fruit juice. A nice choice of hot breakfasts cooked to order. The full English breakfast was the star of the show. 
A pleasant stay.

Nice hotel

Had a lovely stay at The Poplars hotel. I was there for 2 days work locally, stayed last year and it was so nice it was my first choice for this year's trip.

Everything worked as it should, bed was comfy and the room was very clean. Hosts are very welcoming. 

Great place to stay.

We only spent one night here, but were treated so well! The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. When we arrived after meal hours, the owner called a local pub and arranged for us to get dinner there. So welcoming! We would love to come back!

Quiet Village Welcome

I really enjoyed my stay at The Poplars. The owner Susan made me very welcome. The room was great, quiet, clean, a nice ensuite, tea/coffee making facilities and good value.
The cooked breakfast was great, quick service and friendly staff. The whole hotel has a nice atmosphere and was very relaxing. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting Silverstone Festival, The Poplars was great- the hotel and room were spotlessly clean, set in quiet and cosy village, minutes walk to pubs and restaurants, proprietor friendly and helpful, and the english breakfast was exceptionally good. Location very handy for Silverstone.

Brilliant!

I was participating in a Pinball festival in Daventry and had to find a place last minute. Admittedly it was a 30 minute drive back and forth but Susan was very pleasant and I imagine would move heaven and earth to make your stay comfortable and without any stress. I only stayed a night, but the breakfast was one of the best I've had in the UK. Book direct. Better rates. Found out when I got there!
