The apartments are exceptional; meticulously clean, beautifully furnished, equipped with all the latest technology, and feel homely and welcoming the minute you step through the front door.
The location of the apartments are central to shops, supermarkets, taxi firms, bus stops, grocery stores, gyms...every possible vicinity is on the doorstep.
Every member of staff are polite, respectful, gracious, and extremely well mannered towards you. They will go out of their way to facilitate any requests you have.
I have never been so impressed by the outstanding professionalism and superior customer service of a business like this before.

Exceptional

We stayed here for our first night away with our new baby, the 1 bedroom apartment was extremely comfortable, well equipped and well located. With the added bonus of free parking. We hope to visit Norwich again soon and will defiantly be staying here when we do.

Fantastic stay

Myself and my husband stayed here for 1 night. You can park your car outside your apartment. We then walked over to St Giles House Hotel to check in. We paid £9.95 each for breakfast for the next morning. Usually it’s £14.95 if you pay on the day. 
The apartments are amazing. Very clean and equipped with everything you need. The bed was lovely and very comfortable. 
The breakfast we had the next day was really nice. Plenty of tea and coffee. Fresh fruit and yogurts available as well as toast, pastries and cereal. 
I would definitely return and recommend these lovely apartments 

Husband’s birthday 

I stayed at the Pottergate Apartments for two nights.  I would certainly return.  The apartment cost no more than a hotel and offered a beautifully appointed, fully equipped apartment in a great location, just a stone's throw from the centre of Norwich.

A lovely home from home

My best friend have weekend away every 2 months, we chose Norwich this weekend. Decided not to go for a hotel as they were all too expensive. We paid £153 for 2 nights and were very impressed with Pottergate Apartments.  I would highly recommend. Easy walking distance into the city centre.

BETTER THAN A HOTEL

Let me be clear that the Poor rating for service relates to Night Staff not Reception.

We usually stay at St Giles Hotel but, due to a wedding party, we had to book into one of their apartments.  We asked for a ground floor one and were assured that it was.  I went to book in but couldn’t book into our chosen apartment as the “charming” previous occupants had decided to fiddle with the smoke alarm so that they could get their fix of nicotine and left the apartment stinking like an ashtray.  (Maybe the nicotine will get them sooner rather than later).  The receptionist said that our apartment was on the top floor which was not acceptable to us so she did some rearranging whilst I sat and had a drink.  She managed to get us a ground floor one.  I was meeting my husband in the evening and, unfortunately, he’d had a dreadful train journey, consisting of either late trains, cancelled trains, a swing bridge failing to operate and so it went on, unfortunately on the hottest day of the year.  He arrived very late and by the time we arrived back it was just gone midnight and we were starving and as they have 24 hour service, thought we’d have a sandwich to tide us over.  We approached the bar where a couple of staff were standing and we asked the chap behind the bar who said he’d ask the Night Porter.  He turned up and asked if we were staying so I said that we were staying at one of their apartments and he said he could not supply a sandwich as it was something to do with “accounting”.  He could make a sandwich if we were staying at the hotel, but not in one of their apartments as they couldn’t charge it to the apartment.  We said we’d pay cash and he refused saying that it wasn’t possible because he’d closed the till (accounting!!!).  Considering that there were THREE people standing there whilst we were having this conversation, I am sure one of them could have managed to go into the kitchen, pick up 4 slices of bread and slap a slice of cheese between them without too much stress.  We were so hungry that my husband said he’d give him £20 and collect the change tomorrow.  Nope – he still refused and was quite a miserable chap.  When we went back to the apartment I read the Welcome Pack, a section of which said “Pottergate Apartments Ltd, prides itself on excellent customer service.  Please contact St Giles House Hotel for anything else you require, we will endeavour to accommodate your needs”.  This should be removed from the blurb as they neither “endeavoured” nor “accommodated” – apart from Reception.  Another thing that should be addressed is that when I made the telephone booking I asked about parking and was told that “limited parking is available but you can always park in the road”.  I didn’t like that thought at all and good job I didn’t as there are double yellow lines on each side of the road and one of the guests decided to risk it and ended up with a parking ticket.  I think it is possible to park between certain hours, i.e. from 8pm until 8am but reception should certainly make this clear.

Nice apartment, shame about the (lack of) service

My husband will tell you that Im not one to complain but we experienced the same problem of having our reservation cancelled at extremely short notice and we were not given adequate reason. My husband Terry worked at RAF Coltishall during the 1970s and we had a trip down memory lane planned as well as a nice visit to Norwich. It was disppointing because I had read good reviews.

They cancelled my grandmother's reservation because they'd double booked. Gave us 4 days' notice. She's 85 and had been planning the trip for months. If you book to stay here, do yourself a favour and get a room at the Premier Inn on the same date.
