Went to the manor for food today, march 15th we took advantage of the 2 meals for £12  amazing value for money and the portion size really surprised us. Very generous portions as we thought it would be a small portion due to the price how wrong was we. The cottage pie was amazing served with fresh veg and the ribs and chicken was amazing also. Highly recommend the manor great visit

Great visit

Great atmosphere warm welcoming family friendly pub. Had no starters but had mains piri piri burger meal that was smashing fully recommend . Nice desserts too apple pie and custard was the icing for me but also Had nibble on other members of the family desserts and say the brownie was also very good. Definitely visit again with family. Looking to take some family friends again very soon

Great Food and Drink

Lamb dinner on Easter Sunday for £10.99, what better value could you ask for. It’s not a industrial set like the carvery pros, but that’s what made it nice, you didn’t feel like you were on a conveyor belt. The meat and the cauliflower cheese particularly was delicious. Highly recommended.

Good value carvery

Live locally to the pub, many years ago it was an extremely nice place to have a meal. But it had gone downhill after what seemed to be many changes in management. Have been back a few times recently and I must say it has vastly improved in both service and food quality.

The food on both occasions was very tasty and enjoyable add the friendly helpful staff makes it a nice place to go again

Will definitely be back.

What’s happened to the home cooked chips these need to go back on the minimal menus 
Needs a refurb the inside is starting to look tatty especially the soft seating 

Food n drink 

Went for a late Sunday lunch, the worrying signs came as soon as we entered noticing there were more staff than customers. We’d been expecting a full menu, but only a carvery was available which seemed to have been sitting out since opening time. 
The young servers were polite and friendly, the meat was actually fairly tasty, but those were really the only positives. I don’t think I’ve had such awful roast potatoes since school dinners. We didn’t bother trying the one dessert on offer. 
Overall a very disappointing trip, won’t be going back. 

Lots of room for improvement 

Went for Sunday lunch but didn’t know that they had changed it to a carvery.  The meat had been standing for a while as it was dry and not very warm, the Yorkshire pudding was flat and hard and obviously been out for a long time.  The vegetables were not great either. Carrots hard, roast potatoes were tasteless and dry and the gravy was like water.  
At £10.99 it was not good value for money and it wasn’t a nice meal. Won’t be going again any time soon.

Sunday Lunch - would not recommend

Claimed to offer a varied vegetarian menu, but only seemed to have spicy vegan food.
No mushroom pie & no Quorn sausages.
When will pubs realise that vegetarians do not want to eat endless versions of spicy chickpeas? 

It was not full, but food service was slow.

Limited menu

We arrived Monday and our room wasn't ready as was being cleaned, which is fine however when we got to the room it was filthy. 
Mould all up the walls, and on the windows that once shut wouldn't open and they wouldn't give us a key as they had one for the whole place.
There were dead bugs on the shower.
The carpet looked although it had never been Hoovered in the entire time it'd been down.

The first lady was lovely. When we checked in she was very helpful. However from then on it got worse and upon check out we were told off and shouted at! By the manager! 

The shower had an awful leak meaning it was literally a stream of water coming from the pipe at all times. We tied a towel round to help reduce the noise but it was drenched within minutes.

They weren't prepared to do breakfast for us either and clean towels were a no. 

My best advise if booking accommodation is go else where!

Also separate toilet shared with other guests every time I went it there was either urine in it or blood. 

They expected us to sleep with the windows shut when it was around 20°

Awful! Filthy!

We had been to the Manor for Christmas dinner two years ago and thought we would go again this year. We had booked a table for 3pm. When we arrived it was clear there were problems due to the queue to be seated as the previous bookings had over run. Whilst some staff were sorting out the problems there was only one person serving behind the bar. It took over 30mins to get a drink. We went to our table (not the one we had asked for when booking) to find it was still waiting to be cleared. Having waited 10mins we decided to set the table ourselves. We eventually got our starter 50mins after our booked time. The starter was a prawn cocktail which was very nice. 

We had another long wait for our main course. A long table next to us had an even longer wait. After another hour we were served our Christmas dinner. There was very little turkey but overall it was okay but nothing I couldn’t have cooked at home.

We then had another long wait for dessert.  The chocolate choux was nice enough but the Christmas pudding was very disappointing as it was very small and I would guess came out of a packet. 

We eventually left around 7pm having taken this time to be served 3 courses.  There were a number of tables that left before getting their desserts and we heard one table singing “We want our puddings!”. 

I cannot fault the young staff who did everything they could to serve, answer questions and were very polite. However, the landlord was conspicuous by his absence. He seemed to do nothing to support his staff or explain to customers what was happening. 

I always say you should expect better food when you go to a restaurant than you can prepare yourself at home especially when you are paying so much more on Christmas Day. Whatever, the problems on the day it would appear there had been no prior planning to the day.  Such a shame as I am sure their intentions were positive.
