A lovely little place to stay when visiting Alton Towers, or just exploring the area. You will be very well looked after here! Comfortable room and a fantastic breakfast. Try the Staffordshire Oatcake 🤤.

Well looked after - great location for Alton Towers


We had a fantastic stay at The Beehive. It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and welcoming. Jo was helpful from the outset, suggesting different dates for our stay so that we could make the most of our visit to Alton Towers. She made us feel very welcome despite our late arrival and was informative and knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Our triple room was perfect and immaculately clean. Would 100% recommend!

With this guest house, you really couldn't ask for more. Everything is done with class and style. Our bedroom (3) has all matching furniture,  drawers, single wardrobe, and 2 x bedside cabinets. A kettle, 2 mugs, glasses, and bottles of water, along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.  Your milk is kept cold in a fridge in the dining room. Each room has its own bottle. Breakfast was amazing. Freshly cooked with tasty items in the full English. I am trying the speciality Oatcake today! I loved this place, and I can thoroughly recommend it to all couples. It is a few minutes' drive to Alton Towers, and Jo is very informative about the rides! I hope to return another year. Thank you for a wonderful time, Jo and Steve.

Wow, you have to stay here, it's fantastic. 

Lovely stay in the Beehive guesthouse for our trip to Alton Towers. Jo and Steve are great hosts even Jo bringing us an umbrella as we were waiting for the mobile chip van to arrive when the heavens opened. The oatcake breakfast are a must and the homemade jam was lovely. The rooms were lovely and very well presented a must visit if you’re visiting the area. A pub within walking distance is lovely.

Trip to Alton Towers

This place is just perfect for a quiet weekend away, the host Jo was brilliant, the venue perfect location, well looked after would 100% stay again. Breakfast was great both mornings cooked just right and very good selection, bed was comfy and shower in room again spot on. We will definitely return here

Lovely weekend

Jo and Steve I found to be excellent hosts, full English breakfast, toast with various homemade jams also excellent.

Jo's knowledge of Alton Towers and the Indoor/Outdoor Waterpark also very helpful. 

Location is only 3miles from Alton Towers car park entrance.

Wifi worked well and lucky it does as phone signal at Alton Towers and the neighbouring area is very low due to being in a large valley.

Will definitely return to this guesthouse if I go back to Alton Towers. Have already recommended to my other friends to stay at this guesthouse for those that are looking to go at a budget price range.

Outstanding Guesthouse for the price

Great quiet location, clean, spacious  and comfortable rooms, very good breakfast. Easy to find with ample parking, friendly organsied hosts. I look forward to staying here next time, highley recommended.

Having recently returned from a three day stay at The Beehive, I cannot give enough praise for this exceptional establishment.  Spotlessly clean, lovely breakfasts and kind, very informative hosts.  Our party occupied 3 of the guest rooms and all agreed if we are back in the area we would not want to stay anywhere else.  Many thanks Jo for all your help, you truly are a mine of information.

Steve and Jo are the perfect hosts, great location, great rooms, beautiful place to stop really quiet with nice walks to local pubs for food, ask Jo, very informative about food, pubs, history and surrounding area.
Small town close by takeaways supermarket etc just in case.
Alfresco dining it's really nice after a long day at Alton towers ( Chinese takeaway).
Would definitely recommended to friends and family excellent location excellent rooms and hosts too match.

Amazing

Jo and Steve who own the Beehive are so helpful, friendly and professional in running the Beehive. Nothing is to much trouble and if they can help they will. the rooms are spotless and where the Beehive is, right by the river Churnet in stunning Oakamoor, what more could you want? so many walks nearby. Jo makes her own Oak Cakes and its worth going just to taste one of those! We will definitely be going again.
