Such a pleasant stay. Chis was so accommodating and pleasant to chat with. Nice comfortable room with outdoor garden access, quiet place with Oban so close. Nice to have a roomy car park. The breakfasts were a delight each morning.  Definitely would stay there again.  Thanks Chris. A credit to your industry.

My mother and I booked a twin room for Saturday 2nd September. A day before our stay the owner contacted us to say there were no twin rooms available and we could buy 2 separate rooms or stay in a double. Unfortunately the extra cost was 45 pounds. He was quite rude and did not at anytime apologise for their mistake. I think the least he could have done was offer us 2 separate beds for the same price. Very poor service so we cancelled.

This place is an absolute gem.
The beds are amazingly comfy, with super snuggly duvets and pillows.
Immaculately clean with an amazing hospitality tray and facilities in the room. The towells were huge and the softest I've ever had at a hotel! Amazing.
Excellent parking available too across the road. Really well signposted which was a great help.
We stayed for 4 nights while visiting friends down the road and had everything we could have possibly needed.
The owner was really friendly and offered great advice on places to visit for food, wild swimming and hiking.
The lounge is amazing with many sofas and a log fire. We didn't utilise this ourselves as after a day's hike we were usually straight off to the room for bed lol. Again the beds are soooo comfy!
Really hoping we can return here when we visit those mates again as it was so comfy and so brilliant to stay here.

Spotless, super comfy and perfect stay

Just back from a fantastic weekend at Ards House.  Chris did a fantastic job of being very welcoming, knowledgeable and produced great breakfasts.  Nothing was a problem and the fire is such a bonus.  Steve - you have nothing to worry about - your step-son is doing a top job!
In terms of location, I'm so glad I chose to stay in Connel rather than Oban - fantastic cycling from there and a real sense of being away from it all, but near enough the local bar and restaurant - the Oyster Inn and Glue Pot - to be just superbly located.

We booked this B&B because of the good reviews, but also because of what sounded like a magnificient breakfast. However, as we had booked, we were informed there would be no breakfast served at all the following morning. This was most disappointing. The room was comfortable with a nice view over the water, but unfortunately there was no good heating in the bathroom. Being November, that was not ideal. Had not the owner been such a nice man, my review would have been worse.

Nice owner, a room with a view, but no breakfast

The room we stayed in was very shoddy and in desperate need of refurbishing. The shower head was black, had to clean before we used it and dirty damp cupboard in bathroom . Very poor hospitality tray.

Very disappointing

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of my work   on arrival car park was a good size able to accommodate my mini bus. When arrived at door was met by the owner and greeted shown to my room and it was very nice owner could not do enough to help and make sure I was comfortable very nice taking with him and defo will be taking my wife back to this lovely b&b just outside Oban.  

Work has great choice on where to book me in 

Stayed for last night, (wish it was more). Our room (5) had stunning views, was delightful, cosy  and had everything you could wish for. A really comfortable bed provided a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was amazing my wife ( normally has tea and toast )  devoured the porridge with prunes and had the salmon& scrambled eggs. I highly recommend the full Scottish breakfast!. 
Due to the Covid restrictions we only met our hosts at breakfast. Completely out of nowhere it turned out that Steve and I had a common link with work colleagues from 30 odd yrs previous…..Haha.  
We will certainly return if we are in the area to stay and catch up. Thanks. Alan & Jill

Excellent. Highly recommended

Stayed at ards house in August 2021, after being let down where we were staying we rang ards House at 6pm on a Saturday and half hour later he had sorted us some rooms out. on arrival he showed us the rooms a double and a twin room both were lovely and spotlessly clean, beds comfy and bathrooms nice also tea coffee and water and a tunocks provided. The living room you could sit in was nice and had great views of the hills and sea. Breakfast has plenty of choice and was very tasty we had Scottish breakfast and my son has pancakes. Location is ideal for local pubs and close to oban  only 4 miles away. We would definitely  use again thanks ARDS house.
