Very easy check in with a lovely host Room 2 at the front of the building not huge but had everything you needed hairdryer toiletries and excellent tea tray with goodies It was warm during our stay so we had the windows open and the traffic noise from the road outside is fairly non stop so bear that in mind if you're a light sleeper 

Two night stay 

This guest house is not 3 star in fact barely 1 star. The room was very small with nowhere to put a suitcse so you had to climb over it. The bottom sheet and  pillows were clean but not sure about the duvet cover. The duvet was very very old and about 2 cms thick but there were 4 old matress toppers on the bed to try and make the old matress comfy ! The shower was tiny an didn't work very well. The shower room smelt of disinfectant. No residents lounge, no breakfast infact nothing i could recommend about this place apart from a good location.

The location is the only good thing

Went with my partner for a birthday break & George was very chatty & helpful. Room had everything we required, very homely and bed was so comfy. A solution couldn’t be found for us to leave our luggage on the day we were leaving as had several hours to fill before boat - fully booked and owners were out for the day - but George did offer some alternative options to try. Would have been good to have just left them at the residence somewhere. 
Fantastic visit and would not hesitate to return to this guest house

Cosy & friendly

Centre of the city with a parking (paid) in the vicinity. Easy access to everything with in walking distance. Rooms are clean.
Despite the double glazing, traffic noise can be heard, especially early in the morning.

OK for a couple of nights

The other reviews say it all. We just wanted an overnight stop to catch an early morning ferry to Tiree. The man who greeted us was very friendly. The room was cramped and the bed convex so we had to cling to the mattress to avoid rolling out of bed.  The bathroom was small but clean. Car parking could be an issue in season - on the road outside with parking meters, very few spaces and in competition with several adjoining guest houses. We did not have a breakfast as we had to leave early. It's OK for one night but no more than that.   Next time in Oban we will try somewhere else even if it costs a bit more.

Stayed for one night

Room tiny and very cluttered, we had to synchronise moving as we couldn't pass each other. Payment came out a day before, then we received an email to say no  breakfast was available to be eaten in the dining room, you were limited to packs of cereal which had to be taken back to your room to eat.

Traffic noise could be heard from our room number 1. 

Oban itself was very restricted in the facilities that were open.

Wouldn't recommend and won't go back to that area

Disappointment at Oban

We stayed at the Laggenbeg Guest House for one night to break our journey to Mull. The guest house is situated on a very busy road and, despite the property having double glazing, traffic noise can be heard throughout the night which meant a disturbed nights sleep. 
We stayed in room 2 on the first floor at the front of the building. It was very clean, tastefully decorated and had everything that you might expect in a B&B. However it was the smallest room we have ever stayed in. The price does in some way reflect this as it was only £64. However breakfast was not included, due to covid, and there was no on site parking. We did know this when booking. 
The owner of the property was very friendly and did make us feel at home. As the title of my review says, it was ok for a one night stay.

Ok for a one night stay

Arrived at the property after eventually getting parked in the town centre. Welcomed at the door by a woman who did not even introduce herself, chat was very limited, very awkward, didn't ask if we were OK, had a good drive up, got told here is our room key, there is the receipt and the room is at the top of the stairs, had already taken mo ey from my account so if I had wanted to pay by another card or cash it was too late, then woken up just after 7 with someone dropping off the breakfasts outside the room. Not a great stay but oban is amazing as always

OK weekend away

We spent one night in the B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfy. The breakfast was very good and George was a great host. Parking is a bit of a problem but there a car park at the end of the road.  We would go there again.

Comfy guest house

We ended up booking last minute because we'd seen some nightmare reviews for the place we were meant to be staying. We were lucky enough to get the best room which was comfy and cosy and the service we received was great! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to stay for a few nights.
