Fantastic campsite/holiday park!
Stayed a few times now and it never disappoints... immaculate facilities,well kept,staff always happy to help.plenty to do on site and surrounding area.can tell they take pride in their business as always investing to bring you the best experience possible....going back there in June & August 👍

Fantastic!

We visited over the Easter weekend. The pitch was ok & in a quieter plot which we liked. The staff were all very friendly & helpful & the onsite shop was good. We didn’t try the Mill restaurant but the menu looked good. 
Take your time driving through the village of Osmotherley as it’s very tight but very pretty. 
Lots of walks directly from the site which we loved. The toilet blocks were very clean. Overall the site is kept tidy. 
Now the negatives:
We would have liked to have shown our friends who live locally our new caravan & the site but we were told no visitors & only 3 adults per pitch to stay over (even though our caravan sleeps 4 people, there would have only been 4 people on our pitch) also no groups allowed to book together but we saw one caravan with 10 people eating & drinking in the evening. Definitely not only 3 adults sleeping on that pitch. It’s a shame there are different rules for different pitches. This would stop us returning.

Lovely site & area but limited pitch occupancy.

My partner and I had booked in with a motorhome for three nights at this site in September 2023. The site is well kept clean and tidy but the showers leave a lot to be desired.  They are badly in need off modernisation.  Other than that the facilities are fine. That being said the rules for the site are quite rigid and the staff we're rude and abrupt.  The shop is very expensive (price gauging springs to mind) , a four pack of burgers four burger buns and a half loaf  £9.20 . The staff were very rude in the shop and unhelpful,  really shouldn't be dealing with the public in my opinion.  I had a run in with a warden for having guests staying past the 7/7.30 curfew , he quite literally ambushed me as I came out of the toilet block telling me that our guests need to go, (they were 40 mins past the curfew) yes I know we broke the rules but in my defence it was family,  a mother father and 11yr old daughter.  He was very insistent that they had to go. Now as he decided that this rule breech was so important I decided to challenge him on the party that went on the night before which ran on to the early hours,  it didn't bother us but rules are rules.  There we're two caravans next to each other drinking and having the craic well after the 10pm no noise rule. In response all I got was the excuse that he wasn't working the night before.  If rules are going to be enforced then it has to be a level playing field.  I have no doubt that my partner and I would never consider this site again.  The staff need a bucket off manners and learn to be a bit more accommodating in relation to individual situations.  Very poor customer service. 

Great site terrible customer service

Just had 3 x night stay at Cote Ghyll, what a lovely site!! We were pitch 56 so straight across from toilet/shower block, very handy. Great stream and play areas on site, such pretty scenery. Well stocked shop on site. 

Close to Cod Beck Resevoir, plenty of forest walks lead up to there, pretty views and scenery. 

Would highly recommend this site and would visit again 👍👍 

The only small negative is no wifi signal as down a valley, was nice to be off line etc but when needed phone to plan our day trips I felt wifi could have been a better deal, its £3 per device for 24 x hours, voucher available in shop xx

Terrible camp site, the road down to it is treacherous, myself and my husband went on our own, given the fact that it states quiet time is strictly at 10pm till 7am we were approached at our tent by a rude female warden at 9.15pm to turn our music down, she stated it may be to our liking but not to everyone else’s, maybe she didn’t like madness? baring in mind it was a tent and you can hear conversations from tents, it wasn’t loud we are respectful of others, I’ve never in all My years been camping been spoken to like that, very rude. We won’t be back. 

Terrible 

Thoroughly enjoyed our two 4 night stays in July and August in the site's caravan accommodation! The caravan (Bilsdale) was superb! Spacious, spotlessly clean and well maintained.  All the facilities you could need. Exceptionally comfortable bed and lovely walk in shower that was surprisingly quite powerful! We found the wifi quite good , albeit a little intermittent on cloudy/rainy days which is to be expected. 

We found the site itself very peaceful and the location is fabulous.  Just a short (uphill) walk into osmotherly and easy access to the North Yorkshire moors. Lovely short walk over to cod beck is a must via the hostel path.   

Staff in reception were always friendly and helpful.  I would definitely recommend this site for a peaceful break in beautiful surroundings. Will definitely return again! Thank you Cote Ghyll! 

Fabulous caravan on a peaceful well maintained site!

What a brilliant caravan park in a fabulous location, beautiful countryside!

The park is well laid out.  The site rules ask for dogs on leads and quiet after 10, It seemed that everyone followed the rules which made for a safe and comfortable experience for all the family.

The staff were always around, cleaning, helping people and generally being friendly and cheerful.

There is a well stocked shop and  2 heated shower blocks with Laundry. We had 2 pitches next to each other and both were of good size.  There are hardstandings, grass and fully serviced pitches

Next door is a youth hostel and you can order breakfasts and evening meals from them which is convenient and the food was good.

I would definitely recommend this park to families.  There is a good play area, stream and loads of space.  The kids played for hours in the stream.   Its a short walk to Osmotherley village which has a village shop, coffee shop and 3 nice pubs. Also from the campsite you can walk up to Cod Beck which is a lovely walk and eventually comes to a stream where you can exercise the dog and the kids can play.

I saw lots of people hiking and cycling as well as family groups like mine.


Great Location, great place, Lovely staff, definitely will return.

Lovely family site, 2 great parks with a lovely little stream walk.  Football pitch also, no fire allowed which is no problem.  Still allowed bbq as long as raised ... only issue is no gazebos allowed, even in the rain to cook in.

Rained all weekend so we popped up a gazebo to cook children some food, obviously can't cook I tent and staff member come round and asked to put it down.

Bit silly really as no other way to cook food when weather isn't the best.

Apart drop gazebo rule it's a lovely family site.

We have been coming here for a few years and now the kids are growing up we did wonder if there would be enough for them.  Well the answer is yes they played in the park, played football went in the stream and all had a lovely time.

The park is well laid out and there is no noise after 10pm which to be fair everyone does.  there is a well stocked shop and shower and toilet have always been clean and tidy and there is 2 blocks.  We had 2 tent pitches next to each other and both were of good size.

Next door is a youth hostel and you can order breakfasts and everning meals from them which is handy and we have used and they were lovely.

Yes i would recommend this park to families, nice play area, stream and loads of space for kids to be kids.  Its a short walk in to Osmotherly which has a village shop, coffee shop and 3 nice pubs.  Also from the campsite you can walk up to Cod Beck which is a lovely walk and eventually comes to a stream where kids can play make dams etc and in the carpark there is usually an ice cream van on sunny days which is a bonus. 

Dogs are welcome on site, we took ours and everyone keeps them on leads and under control which is great.

WOW Brilliant for families of all ages - we keep coming back!

I visited the site with the goal of wanting to camp there myself but was quickly put off but the rude welcome of the female warden. I was visiting a family member who I was meeting at reception and was immediately asked what I was doing, who I was visiting and told that the policy was 6 people to a pitch. I was planning on going to go for a walk to the reservoir but was allowed begrudgingly to visit the pitch. The camping area had 2 tents (including my family) on as it was midweek, and the other tent was empty. So my family was the only campers on this part of the site. The group was 5 adults (1 OAP) and 3 children, admittedly bigger than their policy allowed but still not large by any means.
After been ordered to be off the site by 7:30pm, I moved my car to the entrance carpark by 7pm to make sure I didn't get caught out by the barrier. The female warden rushed out shouting and questioning me why I'd moved my car. Her attitude was so rude.

We left the site by 7:30pm as told and will definitely never camp here after the unpleasant treatment we had as visitors to the site. I appreciate they allowed us to visit a pitch, but the way it was handled was quite upsetting. I would understand if it was peak time with a busy full site but it wasn't and I've never been made to feel so unwelcome at a campsite before.
