The hotel itself is okay and in a decent location, however, if you are a business traveler and need a VAT receipt then I recommend you do not stay here. After I checked out they refused to issue me a VAT receipt (need to claim back on expenses) as booked via hotels.com The Manager was very rude and unhelpful. Book another hotel in Oxford, you have been warned !!!

The Remont is a decent place to stay, not luxurious but certainly good value. It felt a bit like a cross between a hotel and a B&B, there were plenty of elements that felt like a typical hotel, whereas there were others that were a bit more akin to a guest house.

The cleanliness of the room could not be faulted and the breakfast was a cut above many other hotels with a good choice that was replenished until the end of the breakfast period. The only slight breakfast negative was having to choose a time rather than being able to arrive any time during breakfast hours, but this is something that happens elsewhere too when space is limited.

The one thing that could do with a little improvement is the décor, which (in our room anyway) was a little knocked about - the room would benefit from some re-painting.

Very warm welcome when we arrived.
Great room, clean, fluffy towels, tea/coffee making facilities. Bottled water.
Location good for bus route into Oxford, bus fares currently £2.
Breakfast was very good, again staff efficient & friendly.



Overnight stay for Oxford

Hotel was nice and the room was nice and  had toilettes.  The bathtub had very high sides and no grips to hold on to when you got into the shower.  There was no rubber mat for the tub.  The girl on the desk got me one after I complained how dangerous it was not to have one.
Alec, front office manager was very helpful in getting a tour for me and directions to the bus stop and which bus # to take.  Also which bus to take into centre Oxford.  Breakfast was good and with scheduled times not busy all at once.

Nice hotel!

This is a decent B&B but ignore the 4-star rating on the sign outside; Premier Inn Plus rooms came to mind when I stayed which is about right for the tariff.

The room was comfortable with double glazing to reduce road noise from the busy Banbury Road if, like mine, your room is to the front of the hotel. There was also minimal noise from slammed doors etc. I'd have welcomed net curtain to give some privacy from bus passengers.

As far as I can tell, the hotel is actually two houses joined together. Unfortunately, to get from one to the other you need to go out and in the external doors; all doors operate on key cards.

Breakfast was a buffet affair with the usual fry-up (except haggis!) and continental options and was fine, being served in a rear conservatory with modern décor and functional tables and chairs.

My room was shower-only in the ensuite so ask if you prefer a bath. The room had the usual fan, kettle, TV but no iron. There must have been one once, as there was an iron shaped burn on the carpet.

Note there's no evening meal available, I noticed Deliveroo mopeds arriving but personally walked a few minutes to Summertown where there's multiple restaurant options. 



Decent B&B which on bus routes into Oxford 

The staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean and well presented.  Our room was spotless and very well appointed with super comfy beds.  Despite the heatwave, our room remained cool and was also very quiet and peaceful.   Breakfast was delicious, lots to choose from and I especially appreciated the scrambled egg and the mushrooms - very tasty and not mass produced.  Parking at hotel, 5 min walk to bus stop for quick, easy journey into city centre.  Also enjoyed walking back to hotel via canal tow path. Plenty of eateries short walk from hotel; we enjoyed Spice restaurant. Definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

Absolutely perfect

About 2.5 miles walk from the centre of Oxford, easy to get to by car, offering on-site parking and also on a bus route, the Remont is conveniently located for tourists. 

The hotel itself is clean and staff seemed well trained.  The room was well appointed and functional and likewise the buffet style breakfast was well executed if a little canteen-like in presentation and flavour.

What it seems to lack is personality, feeling to us comparable to a small scale Travelodge style offer - viewed as such we found the price point jarring and would not return on that basis.

Overall, though, a solid offer as a functional and trouble-free place to stay.

Good base for outings

Spotless and very comfortable hotel within easy reach of central Oxford. We booked four rooms for a family event and the staff were super helpful and friendly and we all had a lovely stay. There’s a bus stop across the road with Oxford centre only 20 mins away or only £9 - £10 by taxi. Breakfast was fresh and  plentiful and beds are incredibly comfortable. Private garden available for guests and plenty of off street parking.  Highly recommended.

Friendly and very comfortable hotel

Everything! The staff were fantastic, the room was lovely (we had a family room and there was plenty of space and it was very clean), and breakfast was lovely. I have two minor comments - the family room was on the top floor, with no lift and very narrow stairs. I understand that this is because they are the biggest rooms, and the staff were lovely and offered to help with our bags, but it was a bit of a pain. Secondly, the family room only had a shower and no bath. Not ideal for my six month old, but fine for the two year old. Not deal breakers, but just two things to bear in mind. We would still stay here again despite these points.

An awesome find!

Stayed just one night last weekend.  Great location for our needs to the theatre, just a short taxi trip away.  

Greeted well.  Hotel was clean, comfortable and had a great breakfast selection. Plenty of choice and re-stocked regularly so everything was hot and fresh. 

Parking was tight but do-able.
