We visited last week for an early evening meal, having visited previously for a really lovely Sunday lunch. However on our most recent visit, we were really disappointed. We ordered two starters - a seafood salad and a prawn cocktail. The seafood sauce was definitely a cheap version straight from a jar, and the prawn cocktail was so small and therefore definitely didn’t represent good value for money. The mains were also just lacking, especially the scampi and chips. Frozen scampi and undercooked, soggy chips. Disappointing, and we’re unlikely to visit again, which is a shame as the pub itself is lovely.

Disappointing

What a lovely place! We decided we wanted to stay Hebden Bridge way for our anniversary and we were not disappointed with this gem. Beautiful setting and it’s so lovely and cosy. We were welcomed from the moment we walked through the door. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was so nice. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely anniversary break away

Hubby and I popped in on Tuesday lunchtime, after cycling up to Oxenhope and back. Not only was the real ale selection superb - we had half a Hangar 17 and a Pennine, both at just the right temperature, we then availed ourselves of the 2 for £20 lunch offer. Hubby had a beefburger and I had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Both were delicious. Top it off with cheerful, welcoming staff and this couldn't have been a better find. 
Easily the best lunchtime meal we've had in a very very long time. 

Best Deal Ever!

We spent one night here in the family room and we had a great time. All staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with a huge shower room, nice bedding, towels, toiletries and drinks tray. 
We had drinks and a meal in the pub during the evening and the food was excellent, then after a good night’s sleep, we were treated to an excellent cooked breakfast in the morning - freshly cooked to order and top ingredients. Beautiful bacon and sausage in particular!
We had our dog with us too and she was made to feel just as welcome as we were. 
The location is beautiful - a great part of the world to explore.

Warm welcome, great breakfasts and lovely pub

This cosy pub has great food and beer, great ambience and friendly staff.  All at a reasonable price. Friends staying with us from out of the area were very pleased we had brought them here and thought the pies were particularly delicious!

A very enjoyable lunch out.

We recently stayed at the Robin Hood it was amazing I have paid more for less in 5 star hotels. Our family room was clean and comfortable with an amazing en suite.  Food was awesome good old fashioned pub food ..a huge selection very generous portions very tasty and excellent value for money.  What makes this place stand out is the staff very helpful very pleasant even when they are rushed off their feet like the night we stayed when it was full to the brim of hungry customers.  The ambiance and vibe sets the scene for a very enjoyable night.  Breakfast was equally as delicious and the two ladies serving were lovely and friendly.  Would highly recommend

Fabulous find

We stayed for a couple of nights at this fabulous establishment, it was recommended to us by a friend who lives near to the area. 
I can’t praise it highly enough. It’s immaculately clean, all the staff are extremely friendly and genuinely want you to have a good time. You feel welcomed from the moment you step in. The food is exceptional.  Have no hesitation in booking.

Family trip after recent refurb / local marketing campaign 

I’d describe this experience as ‘tense’, not the only reason but the main one:

- 11 year old kid drops his glass of (tap) lemonade walking through uneven car park (only access to beer garden)
- cleans up all the glass
- apologises
- staff insist on charging him £3.30 for replacement because it was the kids fault for dropping the lemonade, not theirs

Legally correct, but tense a. f. strategy for a wannabe family hospitality venue.

This is must if u want to stay at hebden bridge from the train station there is a regular bus service the Brontë bus 3 b runs every hour or the 595 every 30 mins the pub is is at the top of hill at pecketwell 1and half miles out side hebden bridge  great area for walking the pub it self is great comfortable rooms top quality food great value for what the pub charge the host r great the staff do the owners justice it is only 50 mins from Leeds the trains run every 15 mins from Leeds to hebden bridge  the bus service will take u to Haworth Brontë sisters town every hour from pub the service runs until 8 pm  breakfast served 830 till 930 meals served 12 till 9pm

What a wonderful stay

My wife and I visited here on a lunchtime, not booked, on an offer of ‘two for £15.00’, being from Yorkshire an offer which we could not refuse. We are fairly local (within 5 miles).
We were the first in just after 12 noon, by 1230 the place was full!
Excellent service, food to excess, absolutely fantastic.
Why not 5 stars? The only downfall was the excessive amount of chips for both of us with lots of ‘bits’ amongst the chips, quite clearly the fat/oil used to cook the chips needed cleaning.
Lots of hot veg, far too much to consume!
We will go again (if the offer persists) and my wife says she will ask for ‘no chips’, that identifies us!
Lovely place/staff.
Next time we will book in advance. Well worth a visit to eat especially if you are hungry.
