Our first experience of South Wales was enhanced after our overnight stay at Southgate B&B. Although not the easiest to find, it was well worth the effort.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean and modern. Our room, which had a stunning view of the estuary, was well equipped with TV, radio, wifi, tea/coffee facilities. The spacious en suite bathroom was fitted with a large, walk in shower.
Our hosts were attentive and eager to please, offering the benefit of their local knowledge in recommending local restaurants etc.
The choice at breakfast was amazing - the fresh fruit salad was beautifully prepared and presented.
Should we ever be in the area in the future we would find our way to Southgate B&B!

Hospitality in abundance

Stayed at Southgate with Chris and Issy for two nights and even though I only checked out this morning I felt the need to review straight away.
Chris and Issy were the ultimate hosts with the most. I stayed in the White Suite which was large, warm and has terrific views. 
Day one breakfast did me in, I had to have a lay down after! I won't repeat what everyone else said about it but suffice to say I didn't need lunch!
This morning I just had a bacon roll with fresh ground coffee. The roll was infused with cheese and set the dish off to perfection.
Can't praise my hosts enough. Thank you, and in the words of Arnold.... "I'll be back"

Home from home

It is tricky to find anywhere willing to put you up when you get off the late night ferry from Ireland but we desperately needed a decent sleep before we headed the 300 miles back home. I rang Chris to see if he was willing to take us and assured him we would contact him if for any reason the ferry was delayed or cancelled so that he did not have to wait up in vain. He was incredibly accommodating with this (and certainly appreciates the consideration he deserves for providing this invaluable stopover).
The room was very clean & comfortable (didn't have the opportunity to make use of the lounge area as all we needed was sleep!!) The bathroom although not ensuite was great. But the real pièce de résistance was the breakfast. Gluten free was catered for and we could have had any number of different things but are so glad we chose Issy's absolutely perfect poached eggs (can't remember the last time I had any so good!)
Chris & Issy are so willing to please and their home is so clean and welcoming it was a delight to stay there.
My only criticism (and not their fault) would be that if you arrive late at night it is not easy to find even with sat nav as their property is down a tucked away cul de sac and the streetlights are off and you cannot see house numbers. Thankfully I Google - earthed it beforehand so I at least knew what I was looking for! Apologies to any neighbours we may have disturbed with trying to park in a tight space in the dark late at night!

Excellent in everything!

We found it difficult to locate a b&b for late arrivals off the Ferry from Ireland post midnight but Chris had no problems waiting up for us and even had a warm welcome for us when we arrived at 1am. Our room was very clean and very inviting after our trip with beautiful views across the estuary. Chris is an excellant host and even though we only stayed one night he provided us with a map of the town and lots of guidance with where to visit. Also a delicious full breakfast was on offer. would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting pembroke and surrounds.

Perfect in every way!

We spent 2 nights at Southgate B & B with Issi and Chris early in August 2014! What amazing lengths the hosts go to to ensure your stay is as perfect as you could wish for. The whole house is spotlessly clean and tidy and every day we were left with beautiful white fluffy hand and bath towels, it seems that nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast that Issi and Chris prepare takes this place to a whole new level, never have I been served such fresh fruit or of so many varieties, absolutely amazing, my husband went on and managed to eat the full English (all locally sourced!) as well which he said was cooked to perfection, I scarcely had room for a slice of toast!! Many types of cereal and yogurt were also available but neither of us could manage anything else!! Fresh ground coffee and tea and a fabulous variety of jams, honey, marmalade and butter was also served. We stayed in a double room which had its own separate bathroom just down the hall, big fluffy dressing gowns were provided to protect your modesty just in case you needed to use the facilities during the night!! It was a large room divided by a pine bookcase so one half was the bedroom and the other a small simple living room with two comfy armchairs and a flat screen tv. The room had everything you could possibly need - tea, coffee etc with fresh milk provided every evening in a flask, there was even a jar of snacks, kit-kats etc in case you got peckish! Chris seemed happy to chat at any time and was an absolute mine of useful information about the local area beaches, walks etc.  and also gave us recommendations for local pubs and restaurants. Set in a cul-de-sac surrounded by beautiful countryside with off road parking and wi-fi as standard. If we go back to the Pembroke Coast which I'm sure we will, we wouldn't stay anywhere else, thanks Chris and Issi for a wonderful memorable stay.
