Great B&B , very confortable room ,lovely sea view, super quiet.

Great B&B

The best B&B that we have stayed in, and there have been quite a few! Our room was on the first floor & the stairs themselves are quite a feature. The room was spacious with an excellent bathroom. There was no bath but a shower cubicle with a very efficient overhead shower. The room had satellite tv, excellent wifi, & a view of the rear garden with the sea in the distance. The usual tea & coffee were provided & a nice gesture of a selection of fruit. There was a shared balcony to sit out on & relax. The host Lee & his wife were extremely friendly & helpful. Lee has a wealth of knowledge of the area, places to visit & of good walks. There was quite a choice for breakfast & cooked items were done to order. The quality of the food was excellent. Breakfast is taken around a communal table & although you could come down to suit yourself, we all seemed to arrive together! There were 2 other couples staying (they only let out 3 rooms) & we all enjoyed chatting with one another. The location is ideal for Tenby with a local bus service, a rail station within a short walk & the park & ride is about a mile away. There are 3 pubs within walking distance which all do evening meals. We were only sorry that we had to come home!

Fantastic Stay

I was looking at staying at St. Brides Hotel in Saundersfoot but was overruled by my wife in favour of Wychwood House and was not disappointed.  Lee and Mherly are brilliant hosts and did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Penally was a great location for our walking holiday and Lee offered very helpful advice on places to visit and to dine. We had the most relaxing 6 days with lovely views from our spacious and very comfortable room and a wide variety of breakfast choices and plenty of room to park at the front and side of the house. We have no hesitation in recommending the WH brand of hospitality and comfort.

Great location, accommodation and warm hospitality

Without a doubt this is the best accommodation we have stayed in. We enjoyed great breakfasts (plenty of choice) and the hosts were on hand to see to your every need. We had a beautiful room with a four poster bed and a luxurious bathroom.

Wonderful Hosts.

From the warm welcome to when we left, Lee and Mherly provided excellent service in a very clean and comfortable bed and breakfast, in a character house.  We stayed for a week in one of the king sized rooms with a comfortable four poster bed, en-suite bathroom and shared use of a balcony and delightful gardens.  The breakfasts were superb and the accommodation and location were excellent.  You can walk into Tenby, and the South Tenby beach.  There is a railway station  at Penally which will take you to Tenby and all the way to Cardiff if you wish.  Ideal for couples who want somewhere very comfortable, which is small and friendly, with excellent service.  Highly recommended.

An excellent B&B with excellent service, in a great location for a relaxing break

Wychwood House is a wonderful B&B in the little hamlet of Penally, close to the fabulous seaside resort of Tenby.
Lee and Mherly really are tremendous hosts. Lee’s warm, friendly welcome on arrival set the tone for a very enjoyable three days. Mherly really is the perfect breakfast host, remembering little preferences from day one and providing them on subsequent days without any prompting! You really felt like you were breakfasting with friends! In fact the communal table arrangement added to that feeling and made breakfast one of many highlights. The breakfast was first class with a really good range of items, real good quality (wonderful ‘real’ thick bacon) and endless refills! I know I’m a coffee snob but any place that serves fresh cafetières of coffee is an instant hit in my book.
Our en suite room was top class. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The little extras were wonderful! Fresh Welsh cakes on arrival and a small sherry decanter topped up daily! Add to that the fresh fruit bowl and sweet pot, again topped up daily, and sparkling water in the fridge meant time in the room, although short due to the wonderful weather, was very enjoyable! Oh , I forgot to mention the shared balcony for those early evening drinks and card games!!
I don’t want to say that Wychwood House ranks as one of the two best B&B’s I’ve ever stayed in in case it gets so booked up we can’t get in next time we are in the area-but it was (and the other one was in Canada!!)
One word-cracking!!

One of the very best.

Me and my mum had a lovely weekend staying here! The room was clean and comfy and the breakfast was amazing, so much choice! Lee and Mherly are superb hosts and made us feel so welcoming! I would definitely recommend staying here, we can’t wait to visit again soon!

Amazing Stay

From the moment we arrived, we knew we would love our stay; the welcome was warm and friendly. Lee and Mherly are such lovely hosts. We were made to feel at home as soon as we entered the beautiful entrance hall. The room was large, bright, and immaculately clean. The view over the garden and beyond was stunning; over the fields, we could see the spire of a church in Tenby. We could also see the sea, which was about a 10-15min walk away. The decor was lovely and we loved the beautiful bed, which was very comfortable. We had a room with ensuite, which again was spotless and bright. With a flat screen tv with Sky and two cosy chairs. Our room had a shared balcony to relax and take in the view with a glass of wine. 
There was a decanter with sherry, fresh fruit, and delicious homemade Welsh cakes all thoughtful extras also tea and coffee facilities. The room was tidied daily while we were out, and the fruit, milk, and anything else that ran out were replenished. 
Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice,  several cereals, toast and preserves, yoghurt, fresh fruit, also smoked salmon, kippers, plus the option of full Welsh breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. 
Tenby is apprx 2 miles and is a lovely walk along the beach and by the golf course. If you just fancy relaxing, the garden is lovely and peaceful; there's a swing seat, two loungers, for guests to use. 
We both liked Lee and Mherly very much and would definitely stay again if we visit the area again, which we hope to do.

Perfect from the minute we arrived, until the minute we left.

Lee and his wife made sure our stay was so comfortable and memorable. 
The double room with a balcony with a sea view had an incredibly comfortable bed and sizable en suite with a great shower.A fridge with milk and all the beverages you'd require.
The daily topped up room sherry and fruit bowl was lovely and a lovely touch.
The freshly cooked breakfast was delicious and generous, locally sourced bacon...delicious. Many choices of what was available, (one of my favourites was a triple cheese omelete) alongside the fresh fruits, yogurts and cereals.
They were, in my opinion,  the most welcoming and friendly hosts I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Such a relaxed atmosphere , incredibly helpful and informative. 
The south coast snd Tenby was an approx 20 min walk, but I have to say Penally itself is a lovely base and so much to discover within an easy drive. And the walk to town and beach is very pleasant,  not a chore.  So much better than being in the town!
I would highly recommend here for your visit, but don't take my room for too long as I intend to return here a number of times. 😀

A fantastic and most welcoming experience

Highly recommend … thoroughly enjoyed 4 nights at Wychwood House … from the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Lee, who helped carry our luggage up to the fabulous, clean, spacious en-suite room with great views, a balcony and a large comfy bed. The hospitality tray included a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate with fresh milk and sparkling water in the fridge. There was even a decanter of sherry! Another lovely touch was the tasty homemade Welsh cakes and a bowl of fresh fruit 😋. There was a great choice at breakfast, high quality produce which was prepared and freshly cooked by Lee and Mherly … with vegetarian options too … delicious and really set us up for the day … they even wrapped some pastries for us to take out and enjoy later.  Lee was really helpful and knowledgeable about the area so we could decide how best to spend our days. The beach is a pleasant 10 minute walk away and Tenby around 20 minutes. There’s a couple of nearby pubs in Penally too which serve food. We really enjoyed a couple of coastal walks from the property as the weather was so nice ☀️ Lee and Mherly were the perfect hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable, it was like saying ‘goodbye’ to friends when we left 😆 and we look forward to a return visit.
