We stayed for one night and that was too long. The experience was the worst I have had at any hotel.

We were contacted by the hotel around 3.50pm on the day of our arrival to ask how long it would be before would arrive as the reception closes at 4.30pm. We got there about 4.15 to be told that the room we had booked, only the previous day, was not ready and we were to be given a different room. We were also told that the bar was just closing and wouldn't be opening again and neither would the restaurant.

We were told what number the room was and pointed in the direction. The only information we were offered or given about anything was, that breakfast would be served in the morning.

The room was adequate but the decoration was a fresh coat of emulsion paint over some tired old wallpaper. The wrinkles and tears had been painted over but were still visible.

The guest access was via a side entrance to the inn up a grubby, stale smelling staircase with a stained carpet.

We looked for somewhere to eat and returned around 8.00pm to discover the hot water had to be run for an abnormally long time before any warm water came through. There was one very dimly lit ceiling light and two small bedside wall lights. One of which didn't work and there was signal on the terrestrial TV channels. The remaining channels required either a password or a subscription.

Worse was to come. There was no heating in our room and not in anyone else's as far as we could make out. A number of the occupants of the other rooms were all asking if each other if there was any heating and complained about the cold.

The main inn, including reception, was completely shut and no-one other than the guests in the hotel. There was nothing about the hotel, it's services, emergency contacts or even local information anywhere. I phoned the hotel number and just got through to an answering machine. I left a message, but no reply was ever received.

The sound proofing was non-existent. Every sound carried and we could clearly hear people snoring in the adjacent rooms.

The following morning the dining area was open but the chef was the only member of staff present in the hotel. He was taking orders, cooking the food and acting as a waiter. Strangely, he was also questioning guests about any complaints they had.; which took up the majority of his time.

The breakfast was fine, but the coffee was luke warm.

Avoid at all costs.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here. We sat in the resuataurant overlooking the sea. The food is just that bit different from the normal with home made  chicken liver parfait followed by fingers sandwiches. Then lovely scones with lashing of clotted cream served in serpentine bowls. And to finish browned and lemon drizzle, again, all topped in clotted cream. And all the staff were so friendly.

A lovely afternoon tea.

Booked for Afternoon Tea as a birthday treat for my friend. The Yacht Inn is a traditional pub on the seafront with pay parking directly outside. Its a great location for the Lido and a few minutes walk to beautiful Morrab gardens and Penlee Park. 
Afternoon tea was perfect staff were lovely, sandwiches tasty and great selection of cakes. The pate and toast were an excellent addition. My friend really enjoyed her treat, and said what a nice afternoon she had had. Thank you 😊

Afternoon Tea

Came in for Sunday roast. Was one of the best I had. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Was greeted as soon as we arrived. Good choice for carvery. Each dish was delicious. Have tried a lot in Penzance and this was the best we’ve had for a while. Would highly recommend

Great roast

Nice place to go for a meal and a glass of pims and a glass of wine and cheesy chips and the staff are friendly and helpful and polite and amazing and brilliant and fabulous and fantastic and it is a lovely place to come for a roast 

CHEESEY CHIPS 

The staff, well one of them are total crooks. Do not let the older lady behind the bar serve you as she will skim your change. I have been going in this place for several years but never again. AVOID AVOID

Ripped off

Great location for the Isles of Scilly ferry, and directly opposite the Jubilee Lido swimming pool with its geo thermal pool, very tempting if the weather is good. 

It was OK for one night albeit a bit basic. 

Some positive sign of renewals from the new owners which are much needed.

The only positive was the new towel quality! Had a room with an excellent view of the bay but the room was very small and could hardly turn around in it. The bed mattress had a ridge in the middle which meant you felt you were sleeping on a slope. Then the noise began in the afternoon...the loud voices in the bar below the bedroom and the loud music meant we could not get to sleep until we complained on a Sunday night. It was 11.45 before the noise & music stopped and it was mainly the staff who worked there. After 24 hours on a plane from Australia we were over it!! ...and they charged 149 English pounds for this wonderful experience.!!! (Approx. $300 AUS for the night, and this was booked directly at the Inn not through a booking platform) ...not even an apology in the morning.Our advice?... Avoid!!

No consideration for Guests.

Excellent size room for the price clean and well maintained a decent size television with loads of channels plus the Internet tea tray well presented very large towel, bedlinen of good thank you, the cushions too many on the bed but this is my taste, I was delighted to see the towels not rolled up. Fancy on the bed excellent we checked in early and it was not a problem. Staff very helpful. Breakfast service excellent better than most hotels. The breakfast was cooked fresh and to order thank all the staff concerned

Five star service and room for three star prices

A group of us ate here after walking the SW coast path.  We had booked and were made very welcome. Even the group of young men in the bar seemed courteous. 
It is not a madly comfortable sitting area, not a great ambience but the staff really looked after us. Meals were good. Chef introduced himself which was nice. Service was prompt and friendly.
