Caravan was badly maintained very shabby which was such a shame and the smell in bathroom was awfull a job to get hot water in bath so gave up in the end and got my boots soaked when they emptied hot tub next door for the money u pay not good at all also shabby quilt need chucking out

We stayed at 17 Atlantic view caravan with a hot tub booked through Hoseasons. 

Unfortunately the accommodation was poorly maintained and dirty in places. As an example, the carpet in the lounge area was threadbare near the doors, and the sofa was very worn. General things left broken or not replaced. The fridge has no internal shelves on the door, and from looking back at Trip Advisor I can see it’s been that way for a good few years. No hairdryer. Damaged blinds. Blunt knives. Missing shelf in bedroom toilet. 

We noticed a sewage smell from the main bedroom toilet when we arrived, and continued to smell it throughout the night despite having the door closed and the window open. That was the last straw and we asked to be moved the following morning. 

To be fair, the person at reception did their absolute best to help, and after a couple of hours waiting, we were finally moved to a cleaner, maintained caravan. It’s a shame about the first caravan because the issues could be easily fixed without huge cost. 

We paid around £360 for a weekend break in March, and the accommodation we got initially was absolutely not worth the money. Sadly it did spoil my birthday on the Saturday, but once we’d settled in to the different accommodation we did enjoy the time we had left. 

I can’t comment on the facilities on site as we didn’t use them, but it’s a nice quiet setting and well maintained site. 

We visited Praa sands beach, Tremenheere sculpture gardens which is stunning, and Land’s End which was okay - the indoor golf was fun.

Hence 3 stars, as our enjoyment of the short break and my birthday was tarnished by the accommodation issues.

Clean, Quiet Site But Accommodation Was An Issue

Despite the wild and windy weather, we had the best stay ever at Praa Sands. We found plenty of places to visit even in January. Our caravan was perfect, clean, warm and cosy. All the staff we came into contact with were so friendly and helpful, thanks so much for a great week, we'll be back!

Top site to stay.

This site is absolutely amazing lovely place to stay and a credit to its owners.
I booked up a caravan via Airbnb for the 27/11/2023 to 01/12/2023.
I spent one night in this dreadful dirty caravan had to come home at 7am the next morning.
Cobwebs and grease and hairs in most places.
Carbon monoxide monitor which was faulty which is very off putting and dangerous ,How can you relax.
No outside lighting over decking which is also dangerous during this time of year.
Even the electric fire in the lounge area didn't work.
The washing machine was out of order .
The only good thing about it is the WiFi but saying that the phone signal is shocking.
This brake was supposed to give me a rest after a few very stressful months.
I wished I hadn't of bothered.
The caravan concerned is Pottsville Cabin ..58 The Dunes and is owned by someone called Jules.
Also the pics are old pics on airbnb website.
2 bedroom stunning cabin I think not
Still lessons learned.. trouble is funny how only 7 reviews available from a business you would have thought more available.

The second time we have stayed at Haulfryn praa sands; just amazing. From the reception team to the maintenance guys .. they are all amazing. The lodge was beautiful.. thank you so much. See u next year xxx

Caravan filthy . Not cleaned properly   beds are crap. Nothing on site. Only decent thing is hot tub. Never again. Staff are miserable as sin, but must be a cornish thing as local people don't want tourists here but want our money. People are ignorant and miserable.  Never again

Never again 

This is our 3rd visit to this holiday park and consider it as our little gem. We stayed over the August bank hols in one of their lodge's, 2 adults, my daughter, and her friend. 

What we love about this site is that it's peaceful, well looked after, close to the beach, and many other attractions that Cornwall has to offer. 

We managed to use the swimming pool this time around, which was warm and pleasant. You have to book up and are limited to 45 minutes. They have facilities such as the whirlpool, sauna, or steam room for 16+ yrs, which is good, and found the whirlpool to be pleasantly warm.

The bar area is nicely presented, with sky sports on offer a pool table and a selection of draft beers, ciders, and Ales. I find the staff here very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is that food orders finish at 8 pm, after being explained the reason why, I appreciate how difficult it is for hospitality places to retain staff/current shortages in staff.

The outside area has benches to enjoy the lovely view of the beach, there is a small park for younger children to enjoy. There is a table tennis table, which I feel doesn't really work where it is due to the wind higher up. It may work better in the enclosed wooden out building.

The beach is lovely long and sandy, having designated areas for surfing and swimming. The Welleo is a great area to kick back and watch the waves crash in, whether it be for a coffee in the morning or something stronger in the afternoon.

I'm hoping to return for a fourth time, perhaps in the October half term. If we can.

We had caravan with Hot Tub, caravan was a bit tired and needs couple of things doing to it, but
Nice bar and friendly staff, clean site, 5 mins walk to the beach, which can get busy but great for Bodyboarding etc  Lifeguards on site
A few bars and place for tea/ice cream 
Parking from £3 for the day
Bus stop close by, good links to Penzance.
Local Pubs.. Approx £8 taxi each way

Will be back with upgraded caravan for 2024

So Chilled

Excellent accommodation, we had a chalet near the main reception and were wary of noise but there was no noise at all.  

The accommodation was spacious, well equipped, well maintained and spotless. There was free wifi (essential for our teens!) and it was like home from home.  

The swimming pool is small but more than adequate and they sensibly ask for advanced booking and restrict it to 20 people per hour session, this works really well.  It may sound restrictive but we
managed to get in every day in high season as it is so well organized.  

The hot tub and steam room are a great addition to the pool area and were spotless and well maintained, as were the changing rooms.   

The club / bar / dining area  was relatively quiet, perfect for us.   The food was great and very fairly priced.   It was made all the better by the staff who could not do enough to help.  

The whole site is clean and well
maintained.   The location is perfectly located, less than 10 minutes walk to a lovely sandy beech.  

The golf course is a small 9 hole
course.  It is rough and ready.  It is very quiet.  Ideal for beginners but not a course for a serious or experienced golfer.  Its holiday golf.   

Praa Sands is a brilliant holiday park and the staff were brilliant.  I dont normally ask to see a manager anywhere I go but I did here, because I wanted to thank the staff, who  were, without exception, friendly and happy to help at any time.  The staff made this holiday for us.  Highly
recommended for families.

Feeling very sad that we are heading home tomorrow after a lovely week at Praa Sands. The park is lovely, well maintained, with really lovely staff. The bar is great, with reasonable prices, surprisingly good food and great service. Good pool and a really lovely beach a few minutes walk away. Caravans and lodges are really nice. With all of the sights of Penzance, Falmouth etc a short drive away, we can't recommend Praa Sands more highly. We will definitely be back.
