Good to see this pub open again. However we were hoping to buy some lunch but no food on offer. The pub was empty apart from the girl behind the bar and her mates messing around - it wouldn't make you want to return. A pity as Gulval really needs a nice pub.

Value for money was excellent. The pub is tucked away in a very picturesque village called Gulval. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the food was so good.  A fabulous place to stay and I would definitely recommend this to all our friends. Top class

Lovely pub with great accommodation and fantastic food

We stayed in the family room, and loved it! Nice airy bright room, good sized (new) bathroom, fabulous breakfast in the morning. 
There is nothing not to like about the Coldstreamer Inn, lovely location, and easy reach of Penzance. Everyone we met working in pub were super friendly and charming. Fabulous value for money! I would thoroughly recommend.

Great Pub, Welcome and Value

Was staying at Kenegie Manor up the road so this was our 'local'. The first time we went here for a meal the staff were attentive our meal arrived promptly and was delicious and was an overall good experience. The second time we went was completely different. The beef bourginon special was really no more than oxtail soup with loads of gravy. Tasty but not much substance. The bar staff were not attentive. No one cleared our dishes away or asked us if we wanted dessert or another drink or coffee. We did not leave a service tip. At one point both staff were outside smoking. I assume there was someone minding the bar but I couldn't see from where I was sitting. The first time we went I would rate as a 5 but the second time probably only a 2.

Mixed review

We were staying in the area for a week as a base for doing the South West coast path and discovered this delightful pub. We had quite a few meals here , the food was lovely, exceptional chips and plentiful and very reasonably priced. Lovely very friendly service too, what’s not to like 😁

Had a great night in this lovely pub. Spacious spotless rooms with fresh decor. A great silent nights sleep and a great full English breakfast cooked to Order! The perfect location for exploring West Cornwall


Recommended B&B

We spent three nights at The Coldstreamer in mid-July. We couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome, and this treatment continued throughout our stay. The staff, without exception, were friendly, attentive, and chatty - especially Erica. The locals were also friendly, and we felt like regulars after just a few days!
This is a traditional English inn, and full of character. We were allocated room 3, which provides a lovely outlook over the square - the church bells were a bonus, especially on Sunday morning. We can never understand why people object to this lovely sound. Only one slight negative regarding the room - the lack of a wardrobe or hanging space for clothes, but we managed. The bed was comfy, the pillows soft, and the linen clean.
There was a good choice of ales at the bar, and the bottled Rattler cider is worth a try! The evening meals were tasty, health portions, and reasonably priced; compliments to the chef, who also came out for a chat on occasion.
Friday night was karaoke night - not usually our cup of tea, but we couldn't help getting into it and joined the communal singing of Bohemian Rhapsody at the end. The manager has some set of lungs on him!
We even enjoyed a game or two of dominoes one night - much to Emma's amusement. We asked if a pack of cards was available - unfortunately not, so we sent Emma a pack!
The inn is ideally situated for travelling to nearby areas - we ventured out to Marazion, St. Michael's Mount, Lamorna Cove, Land’s End and St. Mawes (a little further out). We also visited Port Isaac (Port Wenn for Doc Martin) on the way home - which was very picturesque.
We can't wait to come back next year - there are plenty of places still to visit.
We've no hesitation in recommending The Coldstreamer if you're visiting this neck of the woods.


A wonderful stay!

Not our first time at the Coldstreamer but first time visiting on a Sunday at lunchtime. I booked a table for 3 of us (me, my husband and my 6 year old daughter). We arrived just before our time and was greeted by a member of staff straight away who showed us whete our table was. Our order for food was taken not long after we sat down and food arrived promptly. Myself and my husband had roast dinner which was lovely. My daughter had sausage and chips which is always a favourite of hers here.
The service was absolutely on point today even though the pub was really busy and from what i could see, for the 2 hours we were in there, there was not a table that was empty and plus people sat at the bar. 
The manager Michael always made sure that everyone was happy with everything (aswell as us, could hear him asking the tables round us). I think this is a very important part of the service which sometimes i find does not happen in some places when very busy.

Excellent!!!!!!!!

Very warm welcome, lovely pub with a nice atmosphere, and attentive service. The menu is not extensive but there is plenty to choose from, the food is really nice, and the portions are immense (neither of us could finish ours even though we wanted to as it was delicious).

Lovely Cornish pub. Great selection of Cornish Beer .Fabulously friendly staff. 
Great portions, I don't usually go for a Burger but wow amazing locally sourced ingredients lovely. If ever in this area again will definitely return.
