The description of Guest Lodge is a fair one - there are only high windows so nothing to see unless you stand on the bed, and they are about as small as they can be for a double/twin room. I was glad I was on a solo trip on this occasion as two people in this space would have been too much. Codes to access the building are texted at lunchtime on day of arrival and unless you are there late enough to see cleaners, you do not meet any host. Equipment was good - full-size hairdryer near a mirror (!), large fluffy towels and plenty of hangers. One night in this room without a view was enough for me, I found it quite claustophobic, but the worst issue was the noise created by other guests who were up at 5am or so. Both feet running along and doors banging meant I lost sleep.

Comments are based on the fact that we only needed a bed for 4 nights.  Some of the reviews I read prior to booking said that the rooms were small, well they are but perfectly adequate for our needs.  Spotlessly clean, the room serviced every day, tea and coffee makings replenished every day, a smart tv, comfortable bed and quiet.
If you need food or a snack there Are two supermarkets five minutes walk away.
The real bonus was the towels, enormous, not your usual hotel postage stamp.
Would we stay there again- YES,  Would we recommend it,  if you only want a bed, tea coffee and a television, YES.

A four nigh stay to visiy family

The Guest Lodge, Penzance is conveniently located across the road from the main Promenade; next to The Alexandra Inn and a 5-minute walk to the Bath Inn (boasting a later license!).

On our one-night stopover we were welcomed by the corridor radiators being turned on full, and unable to be turned off for the duration of our stay. No fans available, and no ventilation through the tiny windows so a very warm night’s sleep ensued. 

To counter this concern, with a wonderful sense of irony, there was no hot water for the entire time so a very refreshing shower rota undertaken between 4 of us.

Very small rooms, but adequate for our purposes, and with tea & coffee making facilities.

Poor, but practical in Penzance

Very easy booking in. Room clean, tidy and adequate. Great place to stay prior to a trip to the Isles of Scilly 8 minute walk to the Scillonian. Good parking close by. Would highly recommend. Stayed on a number of times and always enjoyed it.

Excellent Stay

Stayed for one night before sailing to the Isles of Scilly. It was clean, light and practical. Very comfy bed and I had a great nights sleep! Staff were very helpful and even lent me a phone charger as I had misplaced mine. Will stay again, thanks 😊

Perfect stop over

Good location right by the sea front and easily accessible to the rest of South Cornwall. Room was clean and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Quite small and windows up high so difficult to see out. Staff at Beachfield Hotel in front (which The Lodge seems to be linked to) were helpful. 

Average but fine

If you are after a place to stay by the sea, then you couldnt get much closer, is right on the sea front, we stayed for 5 nights, the room was practical and just right for what we needed, also kept clean by housekeeping staff
