Really depressing place to stay only good thing about the hotel its across from Penzance railway station it ruins your holiday staying here it's so depressing you try & stay out all day so you don't have to come back here it should be relaxing & comfortable but it's the opposite dusty & need of T.L.C.

Tired & run down 

We would have stayed longer but it was an over night stay.  We were made to feel very welcome and had a good breakfast.  The place was clean and comfortable but not fancy which we did not need anyway. Our bags were carried up for us and down the next day.

VERY WELCOMING WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I booked this accommodation at very short notice, and was so pleased at my choice. I had advised the proprietor that I would be arriving late, and she kindly arranged to have the door key left out for me in a locked storage box, the combination to which she texted me on the afternoon of my arrival. As I arrived late at night into Penzance, after a long train journey, it was so reassuring to find the guest house was literally 2 mins from the station exit, just round a corner and over a main road. There were no problems with finding the key and letting myself in.

The room was on the first floor  -  a double en-suite room which was exactly as advertised. I didn't experience ANY of the issues encountered by the reviewer of 26th March 2018; the room was clean and attractively-decorated, the wi-fi worked and so did the power shower. I had no problems with the linen and had a fantastic night's sleep, so comfortable in fact that I almost overslept.

The breakfast was plentiful, well-cooked and the proprietor kept checking to see if there was anything else I required, as well as having a friendly chat.

In short, my experience of Whiteways was the complete opposite to that experienced by the aforementioned reviewer, and I would have no hesitation in returning there or recommending this establishment to friends, etc. Granted, it is not a five-star hotel, but it is not advertised as such, and you are not paying five-star hotel prices either; I felt the price charged was incredibly reasonable when you consider that you are staying in a tourist town AND that breakfast is included.

Lovely no thrills B and B in the heart of Penzance. Does what it says on the tin. The rooms are old fashioned but for us that was part of its charm. Very clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast and friendly owner. Would certainly stay again. 

Excellent Stay

We stayed one night in this lovely little place and would definitely return. The room was simple but lovely and really cosy and warm. The lady that checked us in was really nice and helpful. I was too tired for the breakfast but my boyfriend said it was fantastic! We were able to have a late check out and offered to pay extra but the lady wouldn't take anything. If ever in Penzance again we know where to book! Great value for money can't fault it! thanks a million xxx ps.love your cat I wanted to steal it!!!!

Lovely time

It was all dirty: the sheets were all sprinkled, the towels were spotted (but they had been changed??!), the bathroom shower was indecent (hairs around and mold spots)! Even the breakfast room was not better... sticky, greasy tables, the couch seemed to be fixed by the roadsides not to mention breakfast cereals and marmalade bowls... All this at a very affordable price! I had never seen such a place in my life!

Not recommended!

The summary I would like to make: just for one night. The -: the bedding leaves desirable, the insulation of the rooms as well (both indoors and outdoors) as well as the lack of free parking in the immediate vicinity. The +: low prices (compared to prices in the area), scrambled eggs (^^) and geography (near Land's End and Minack)
