We stayed here for one night as we were picking up our grand-daughter from Sea Cadets camp the following morning.  The staff were very friendly and welcoming on check-in and our room was very clean and quite large with a hospitality tray and fridge if needed.  The food was very good - both dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning - all cooked freshly to our requirement!  The service was excellent and again the staff in the dining room were exceptional - I was determined to remember their names, yet this once again evaded me!  I keep telling myself to write it down!!
Anyway, all in all, I highly recommend this hotel and its staff if you are in the area!

Food at dinner was ok nothing special nice presentation 
Breakfast disappointing cheap sausages beans running around plate, obviously cooked in advance and not freshly cooked to order as arrived within about 2 minutes of ordering thus some items were dried up 

Seemed expensive for 1 night DBB at over £180 especially given location

Stayed one night 26/02. Lovely hotel with nice bar and restaurant. Bedrooms clean and spacious. 
 What made out stay was the exemplary customer service. Lorna and can't remember the guys name went completely over and above for customer service. They were so friendly, helpful and professional. Hope the owners know how lucky they are to have staff like this! Dinner was amazing, food was of an incredible high standard. We have smoked haddock for breakfast, best breakfast we have had in a hotel in a long time. Could not fault the hotel. I would give the following:
5 points Hotel
5 points Customer Service (6 points if that was possible)
5 points Food
Would I recommend  - without a doubt and I will definitely be there again!

Amazing Hotel, Best Customer Service and Fantastic Food

Due to my job I stay in hotels all over the country every week and I can honestly say the food served in this establishment is the best by a long way. Tonight I had chicken Breast with haggis with a whisky sauce which was delicious. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble plus the rooms are really well furnished with a fridge iron plus tea and coffee.... All round a pleasant stay. 

Very good hotel 

Fully enjoyed our stay, staff excellent and so much attention paid to little details. Breakfast / Dinner, perfectly set tables and attentive staff. Cannot fault this hotel.  Nothing is too much trouble, really look forward to staying here. Other so called high end hotels could take a leaf out of Buchan Brae’s book.

Excellent

Have been staying here for nearly 2 weeks as we are having renovations done at home. To say we have been spoiled is an understatement. The staff here are so helpful without being in your face.  Our room has been kept spotlessly clean. Towels replenished regularly and toiletries. We have eaten here most nights and have been delighted with every meal. Fantastic food. Could not speak more highly of this place and all the staff.

Spoiled rotten

We stayed here for a charity event and the food was delicious, the service at the event excellent. The room was very nice, warm and welcoming. However, the shower in the morning was freezing cold even after running for half an hour. We went for breakfast which was also nice. When checking out we advised the receptionist (a lovely woman whose name I didn’t catch) of the cold shower. She went to get a manager while we waited (and waited), she again went to see what was taking the manager so long and eventually a manageress in chef whites came to speak to us. She was extremely rude regarding the situation stating that no one else has ever had a problem, it must just be the thermostat and said she would get the problem fixed tomorrow (the Monday) as she had new guests going into the room on the Sunday evening. For all the nice things that we’d enjoyed at the hotel that evening, I was very disappointed by this, especially as she said to the receptionist (not us, and not kindly) “Reduce the rate” on the way out of reception. The receptionist couldn’t have been nicer and I know this wasn’t her fault, she was so apologetic, but this manageress has honestly put me off the hotel.

Fabulous night out - band were great . Staff and food were very good . The rooms are lovely and great service at breakfast really friendly staff . Defo booking for next year . Thanks for a great night and stay !

Xmas party night 

Just returned from  a weekend stay here at the Buchan Braes this hotel was wonderful the staff are truly amazing friendly polite. The food was fantastic we stayed in a suite which was very spacious,  clean and well laid out.
I can not recommend this hotel highly enough we will definitely be back.
Thanks to all who made our stay perfect.

Great find

I am away from home a lot and I stay here for on a regular basis on business trips. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The food is the best I have tasted. If you are in the area it is a MUST that you pay a visit. You will absolutely not be disappointed. 😍
