Just got back from a night away at this place and wow it’s fantastic from the moment we checked in until we left 
Jenny who looked after us was fantastic in everything she done nothing was too much trouble 
We had an afternoon tea when we arrived and that was lovely everything fresh 
Went to local pub badgers ( 2 min walk away ) for New Year’s Eve which was great lovely food and wine 
The carriage we stayed in Montana was amazing luxurious all the way bed comfy very clean bath shower etc all fantastic 
 Can’t wait to book again

Fantastic stay wow

Stayed for a family celebration.

The train carriages are amazing! Better than you would imagine - so comfortable and cozy. Very well equipped with a large bathroom. Clearly the room are narrow but they are long and much more spacious than anticipated. The heating warms up very quickly and we needed to turn it off overnight. All rooms seem to be different but all very good standard. 

Downside is having to run along the platform in the rain to visit neighbours but its part of the fun too! 

The b and b is quite tucked away down a lane but there is a cosy pub just 2 minutes walk.

Breakfast is great quality and in the old station house with a roaring fire. Lovely!

No complaints. It's not cheap but a fabulous place to stay.

The West Sussex Sleeper Service

Wow really does not cover how good this venue is, from the well kept station building (with rooms for guests), to the amazing Pullman carriages. Stunningly set out using original features as well as the upgrading to provide a stunning bedroom with large ensuite. The bed was so comfortable and nothing was too much for the staff. Breakfast (full English) in the beautiful station building with a facility of continental served in your carriage. Everything is done with style.
We used the Badgers Pub next door for our evening meal which provided lovely food (toffee chocolate pudding with caramel sauce is a must)
Great venue, relaxing, cannot wait to return!

Comfort, style in an authentic surroundings!

What a little find, this place was recommended to me and I had no idea what to expect! Stayed for one night and loved it. Carriage was a little chilly but really nice and comfortable, i especially loved the tea and coffee options in the carriage. My only negative was a slight damp odour on the duvet, replace those and it was perfect. We stayed one night and were made very welcome by all staff. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Such great quality food really set us up for the day!! Would certainly recommend others to stay here for this unique experience 

What a unique little stay

There are 4 restored Pullman Cars, each of which is split into two zones comprising a bedroom and a bathroom. We stayed in Mimosa. Obviously by dint of being a railway carriage, space is quite limited but there is a TV, small seating area and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast is fulsome and provided in the adjoining old station building. Everything is of a high standard and clean. Lots of interesting railway memorabilia around the site. Ideal breakaway for a romantic trainspotter !

Cupid's Golden Arrow 

We thoroughly enjoyed our night away staying in one of the former railway carriages which have been converted to provide excellent accommodation . It was great fun with attentive staff , lovely breakfast and great little personal touches in the rooms . Couldn’t have asked for more for more . We’ll gone guys ..;

Midweek night away for 2

After a stressful couple of days, my husband and I checked in here and the atmosphere was very conducive to total relaxation.  Lovely room with so many quaint period features.  Shower that was powerful as well as stylish.   Very impressed with the repurposing of these old carriages.  Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.  Service was excellent on the way along.  We hope to return!

On the right track

We arranged to stay at the Old Station in a Pullman coach (Flora 2) to celebrate a special birthday.
We were met by the friendly receptionist who showed us to the coach and the facilities available.
The coach was very well appointed, with a good sized double bed and comfortable surroundings. The bathroom and shower were quite excellent.
Being one of the coldest nights of the central heating barely kept up with the outside temperature. The addition of a blanket on top of the duvet made all the difference.
Excellent cooked breakfast in the waiting room.
An excellent evening meal was obtained at the very local Badgers Pub, within very easy walking distance of the hotel.
A very worthwhile experience.

A special birthday treat

Just wonderful. The cleanliness, colours, ambience and presentation in the old waiting room capped off a wonderful stay. The rooms are converted old Pullman carriages that we found to be very clean and presented well. The willow wooden blinds are a design of the highest quality, the television is a smart tv giving you access to streaming services and the bathroom has a high powered shower. The bed is a double that fits the narrow carriage well that was very comfortable but we are used to something bigger so was awake earlier than usual. In the night hours the area is completely silent and we didn’t hear a peep from the other carriages.

The breakfast was wonderful and just the right size. We had an English breakfast each cooked to perfection. When we took our seats we had a jar of fresh fruits each and lovely fresh orange juice alongside a cafetière of rich coffee. This was all consumed to the sounds of music from the 1940’s whilst an open fire kept the room warm. Breakfast appears to be staggered for each room in 15 minute intervals on a first come, first served basis. I think this is to ensure it is freshly cooked. 

Two very minor observations -

1. The shower gel is supplied in a sachet.
2. The shower/bath isn’t the easiest to use. Couldn’t find a cold temp so had to let the red hot water cool for a while before jumping in.

I would definitely stay again and plan on doing so in the summer months to enjoy afternoon tea on the old platform.

Stepping back in time

A warm welcome on our arrival, and champagne in an ice bucket  plus a birthday card in our carriage.  And what a beautiful carriage it was - all polished inlaid wood and smoothly working shutters which were very hard to resist playing with.  There were home-made biscuits, all manner of coffee, tea, chocolate and lots of bath accessories.  We were booked in for a 5 pm afternoon tea, which was huge! finger sandwiches, scones and the prettiest of fancy cakes (also delicious).  We didn't need any supper!  Our bed was super comfortable and we slept well.  In the morning we had a full English breakfast, which was served in the old station ticket office, as had been afternoon tea.

The staff were lovely, and very patient, being willing to come over to our carriage to explain things which we should have known had we bothered to read the very comprehensive book of instructions!  Thank you Ella for coming out in the cold to help us.

A wholly enjoyable experience which we wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
