A meeting with a pal in the welcoming confines of the Priory Court Hotel. This truly is a gem in the shadow of the Castle. A quiet midweek evening but the chef was on point. To start Breaded Camembert with Cranberry and a lovely dressed salad. To follow a perfect Sea Bass on a bed of Crushed Potatoes and a buttery sauce and  perfect French beans. Too full for pud and driving so sans wine but that really didn’t matter. Visit, do!

A LITTLE FISHY ON MY DISHY

Enjoyed a two-night stay at this great little hotel. Rooms are large with a separate comfortable lounge. Ate in the hotel both nights - good choice of freshly cooked food (including vegetarian) at a very reasonable price. Breakfasts are cooked to order with ample choice and good quality ingredients. Very friendly staff made for a lovely stay in this area of Sussex.

Excellent small hotel

We are on our third visit to this unique and charming little hotel, right next to the ruined walls of Pevensey Castle.  All the rooms are, in fact, suites with Bedroom, Bath/shower room, and a Lounge.  Breakfast was superb, especially the locally made sausages, and we are looking forward to tonights dinner with eager anticipation.  If it is as good as the last two times we stayed here, we shall be more than satisfied.  Even the rain on our lounge window cannot detract from the peace of this place.  It has become one of our favourite destinations for a short escape.  Long may it continue to be so.

Quiet friendly luxury, a unique experience, and very affordable.

A lovely hotel steeped with character. Lovely big room with lounge, bedroom and shower room. Very reasonably priced. Very powerful shower. Lovely toiletries. Comfortable bed. Only slight thing was the mini bar fridge which was a great idea but it was empty. Maybe a few odd items in there would be good. Breakfast was good. Dinner was superb and the evening service was second to none. Even the owner came to our table to introduce himself and welcome us.

A Wonderful Find

Great accommodation, really nice bar, lovely tasty food, friendly and efficient staff .... need I go on? Actually yes! I knew I would arrive about 20 minutes after last food orders, so I phoned ahead to see if they could prepare a sandwich for me. However, when I arrived the chef had waited on and he prepared soup and a really nice homemade steak pie. Breakfast next morning was just as good. My room was classed as a 'suite', and unusually it really was, with a lounge, bedroom and big bathroom with a full bath and separate shower. It was clean and comfortable and I will most certainly be back on my next trip to the south coast .... thank you for everything guys.

Well worth a visit

I booked a one night stay in this fabulous hotel for my boyfriend’s birthday. We were lucky enough to stay in the Pevensey suite which was beautiful and roomy. The lounge overlooked the castle walls and the bedroom view was of the hotel garden. 
The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our stay and were quick to assist. One of the real highlights was the evening meal - absolutely out-of-this-world cooked to perfection food! I had terrine to start then gnocchi and my boyfriend had a seafood starter followed by the lamb. Really really fantastic on all counts.
The bar was well-stocked (lots of gins) and breakfast the following morning was also excellent - cooked to order and delicious.
All in all a fabulous romantic stay, could not recommend more - go and experience it for yourself!!

Hidden gem!!

Sadly we only got to stay for one night but this place was wonderful. We came with our two young children and nothing was too much for the owners. They had set up two lovely beds for the children with children’s duvet covers which they absolutely loved-what a wonderful touch! The room was spotless and very spacious and there was a lovely selection of drinks available by the kettle. The breakfast was amazing and there was lots to choose off the menu. The children were sad to leave the rabbits and so we will definitely have to come again.

Lovely, friendly, welcoming little place.

I was very very impressed with the food, the service and the price.
 I do not write reviews as a rule but the food was delicious and the service lovely.
Really pleased after a long tour of Pevensey castle which is close by.

excellent lunch

We spent one night in this charming hotel.  We had a lovely suite overlooking the gardens.  Beautifully appointed and very quiet.  We dined in the restaurant and enjoyed a very good meal.  Breakfast should not be missed - there is a varied menu and everything is cooked to order.  The staff were attentive and made our too short stay delightful.  

A little gem in a lovely village

Great welcome and a very comfortable room/suite (Bodium) 
Changed pillows/duvet as I have allergies no problems
Excellent food at all meals
Breakfast sustained us nearly all day
Fresh milk in room for tea and coffee a big plus. 
2 evening meals , couldn’t fault them
2nd night exceeded expectations
Pan seared Sea Bass with gnocchi etc
And to finish Raspberry and White chocolate Parfait. 
Wine was good too. 
All in all a great weekend and wonderful hosts. Thank you Charlie (chef) and Aaron(waiter) as well as a very friendly owner Peter
