Had a last minute 2 night stay here late January , having stayed here a few times before the offer was too good not to take,  on  our previous visits we have always stayed in the cottage which suits us because of having our dog with us and have never had an issue with the accommodation , this time however we stayed in a room, room 5 to be precise ,   to be perfectly honest I feel this room is a sad and neglected place,  grubby was my first impression ,  there is dried grout of some sort on the bathroom wall which will come off with some effort the main water feed to the cistern is leaking [ noticed it this morning before leaving , and no one about to report it too ] but clearly has been dripping for sometime, the sound quality on the tv is poor and the overall state of the room is tired , the other thing that was extremely irritating is the kitchen air vent blower that comes on and off throughout the night and woke me up every time , imo a bit of maintenance on this room needs doing.   On to the positives ,  I/we still enjoyed our stay here as we always have this time the food was very good,  excellent breakfasts served by a very pleasant and friendly lady who worked her socks off [ she really deserves a pay rise ]  the evening meals were spot on too ,  the beer is very good and reasonably priced , we will be returning without hesitation just won't be staying in room 5 as it is at the moment.

Good place/ food/ tired room.

Called in today for a last minute bite to eat and a pint. We were met with such a warm welcome and more than happy to let us bring to dog in as well. We had some beautiful beer that they brew on site and it was cracking. I did try a few different ones 😉. We had a bar meal and it was a feast to behold. Great quality and more than enough to fill me up considering it was only lunch. My wife had the Yorkshire pudding and pork wrap which was tremendous and so heart warming. Just like granny would have done. What more can you ask for. Then to top it all the bill was more than acceptable and certainly not a shock to the wallet. Wish we had discovered it a few days earlier. Well done all.

Off the cuff visit and we’ll worth it

We went to the new Inn in Cropton had a great evening meal and stayed the night  in a nice cottage then we had games of pool in the games roomand breakfast was excellent.

Before the evening meal wehad a great tour  led by Josh and we learned a lot on how different ways we brew beer and whole 

Brewery tour 

Met eight friends for Friday lunch, it was great food snd service.
We were all staying locally, so booked for Sunday lunch for 15 people.  Again good value menu.Staff were so friendly and efficient.  Highly recommend this lovely pub.

The people that worked at New Inn were amazing.
The Inn itself is really tired, could do with updating or a refurbishment.
The food was really good, the bed was comfy and linen was very clean.
Such ashame you cannot walk to another pub or restaurant from the New Inn as it would be a good dig friendly base.

Christmas at The New Inn

Just got back from a overnight stay at the New Inn Cropton.We really enjoyed are stay the pub was lovely and there own brewed beer was fantastic.We stayed in a bungalow no 10 behind the pub.Lovely big comfy 4 poster bed.Plenty of coffee and tea large shower very clean.The staff were very great we had are evening meal at the pub and it was delicious very tasty.After a good nights sleep what you need is a good breakfast and that's what we got .Overhaul a great value for money accommodation.

Great

Relaxed feel, traditional food down to earth pub. We really enjoyed our lunch, Yorkshire pudding wrap and chicken skewer. Dog friendly and we were muddy from our walk. Would definitely go back. Cider was great. Friendly staff, loads of parking, varied menu. 

Exactly as expected, loved it

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting family in the nearby area. The staff were very friendly and I liked the overall atmosphere of the pub. The room was spacious, clean, warm and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was very weak however I wasn’t bothered too much as we only stayed the one night. 

We had food on the evening which was lovely and breakfast was great too. Also, fab for dogs!

Comfortable one night stay

I’m going to start with the positives, the bar was lovely, the food was great. Breakfast was nice. The bed was suitably firm for those who like a hard mattress. As the brewery tour wasn’t running we were left with beer tokens for the bar and some bottles of beer.  The bedding and towels were fresh and tea and coffee making facilities available.

Unfortunately it then goes downhill.  Opening the door to the room there was a damp/ mould smell. The shower was recessed under a sloping roof, my husband couldn’t stand properly in it (at 6ft2 he’s tall but not a giant!). The water pressure left a lot to be desired and it was more of a trickle than a shower (I was relieved I’d washed my hair at home in the morning!). The toilet seat was broken, and the hot water tap didn’t supply hot water. There was black mould around the sink and shower, and the rubber shower mat supplied. However this really wasn’t the worst part. The room we had housed the exit to the fire escape and as such had a bright green illuminated sign in the corner of the room (I hadn’t noticed it when we entered in daylight), the light from this kept me awake and as such I had a very poor nights sleep. 

It’s such a shame because it has so much potential and the bar and food were good, massively let down by the room. We were bought the stay as a gift, I’d have been really disappointed had I sourced and booked it. 

Disappointed

Lovely pub and friendly locals.   We stayed here for a couple of nights in November    The room was lovely as was the breakfast.   The locals made us very welcome.  Highly recommended for anyone with a dog.  The breakfast was fab.  Tasty and enjoyable.  This place is lovely.
