To be honest we were a bit dissapointed. We are locals, have visited the Inn before and had a lovely food there in the past. The owners have always been warm and inviting and it's in such a beautiful spot. We have recommended it to countless people but unfortunately that will not be the case anymore. Ignoring the multitude of options in Pitlochry we decided to drive out for lunch - a treat we thought. Things were not quite as we remembered and it became apparently immediately. In was a Saturday but the resturant was quiet and we awkwardly stood waiting for quite a while before  anyone  appeared to seat us. The table  was noticeably dusty and the glass flower vase was empty, grubby and filled with old dirty water. It all felt a bit unloved. The menu was more limited than we remembered. We drove out hoping for more options, a resturant rather than a cafe type lunch; but 3 types of sandwich, fish and chips or a burger were all that were on offer.  Struggling to find something I fancied, I plumped for a sandwich, my husband the fish and chips. The service was all a bit wierd. Our diet cokes, I think came from a can but were served in a glass way too large and with no ice so looked like short measures. Someone bustled back and forth setting up a table next to us with a meal for what I assumed was a social media photo shoot, but never acknowledged us or explained what they were doing, which was a bit uncomfortable when it was so quiet. It felt quite intrusive, but did make us laugh as he bothered to dust that table before he used it. The food arrived and initially looked quite good, colourful and well presented but it didn't follow through on flavour. The fish was very greasy (upsetting my husband's stomach later on) and the sandwich just wasn't good. Run of the mill white bread, slathered way to thickly in tasteless cloying margarine, a few bits of largely tasteless salami, a slice of a very strong (and a slightly crunchy) cheese (possibly parmesan? - it was so overpowering I couldn't stomach more than one piece and I love cheese), rocket and a slice of underripe tomato. No dressing or balsamic to cut through the richness of the cheese. So dissapointing. I'm not a fussy eater but after a few bites I really wasn't enjoying it so picked out the salami and salad, leaving most of the margarine bread and cheese on the side of my plate. At this point the server came over and asked if everything was OK. I explained the problem with the thick margarine and that I couldn't eat most of my sandwich, but he neither apologised or offered to do anything to rectify the issue. I probably should have just asked for a couple of slices of un-marged bread and rebuilt my sandwich, but instead just ate the salami, side salad and coldslaw. A very tiny and underwhelming lunch for nearly £11. Later the sever returned, asked if everything was OK with our meal, didn't wait for a response, answered his own question saying "Yes everything is fine" and took the plates away. We actually burst out laughing as what on what planet does someone not eating most of their meal indicate everything was fine! Read the room mate😂🤦‍♀️. Yes maybe we should have spoken up and complained in person but we didn't what the hassle to spoil our day out. We decided just to cut our losses, pay up and leave. However to add insult to injury as we drove away my husband realised we'd been charged over £40 for that meal. Sandwich approx. £11 + Fish £19 = £30 not only is that expensive for what we got it appeared we had charged at least £5 for each can of coke! We turned around and drove back, checked the menu on the board outside and realised a 12.5% discretionary service charge had been added as well. That t least explained why it appeared we had been overcharged. We normally always tip (having lived in North America) but for obvious reasons had chosen not to on this occasion. Again not wanting to spoil our day out we decided just to leave it but its safe to say we won't be returning. It's such a shame as we had such nice memories from our previous meal there and it could be a real gem.

Very Dissapointed With Food

Had a lovely overnight stay here with my husband in March. We had eaten here 8 years ago and vowed to return but it took us longer to do that than  we’d thought! This time we stayed overnight and had a lovely room overlooking the loch. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really good . The owner Jade was great , and maintained a great energy throughout the dinner service laughing and joking with guests and then again at breakfast the next morning. 
Our room was spotless ( forgot to take any photos) and we had a really large bathroom with a good shower over the bath. 
We will return ( hopefully in less than another 8 years! 😀)

Lovely cosy Inn

We ate in the restaurant. Sunday lunch - the food was good but the atmosphere was awkward and we felt as if we were in the way. Such a shame as it is a beautiful location and as I say the food was of good quality. They only have a children's option if you order in advance

What a wee hidden gem of a place, lovely clean rooms with a huge bathroom and lots of attention to detail, fantastic staff who went out of their way  to make sure you were made to feel welcome. The food was wonderful too and the beer garden with just the most amazing views was just lovely on a sunny afternoon. Very dog friendly too. Looking forward to going back here ASAP !

Hidden gem

Fantastic location, great service and very friendly and welcoming host.

Dinner was fantastic, nice cosy bar for drinks and seperate dining room for breakfast which was warm & welcoming with views out over the loch. Bedroom and bed comfortable and would highly recommend for a peaceful break and would definetly return.

Fantastic stay and food

Admired this place on Instagram for a while ,had a wonderful over night stay for the weekend.

Amazing meal, delicious wine and fabulous surroundings, our wee dogs were welcome too .

Owner was so warm and friendly and we can't wait to return

Comfiest beds ever! Incredible views. Just the most perfect place to relax and get away from it all. One of our favourites! Nothing better than sitting with a drink in the sun admiring the views 😎♥️😎♥️

We stopped off for lunch on the way to Pitlochry. What a mistake!
I asked if their menu had variations. A naive young bar staff member dimple said no to everything the customer requested. Only cheese and tomato with rocket inside two slices of hovis bread!!! Or, soup and a similar sandwich. No garnish, no ctidps and £12 later a disastrous lunch as the cheese was not as advertised.
Pizzas although on the menu gor Friday we're NOT allowed!!
A cafetiere for two was do week I could see through it and could not identify coffee.
We were given a small jug of milk for 4 coffees and 1 tea. When asked for more we got enough for 2 cups thumped down on the table. This girl I'm sorry to say had no customer focused training. The owner was interviewing behind us and tried to be attentive when we asked again for more milk!!!
Two couples stung £40 for a v poor lunch experience.
Advice is - check before you pay what you are getting foodwise and if variety of food and hospitality from the staff is required, leave.

Variety and hospitality sadly missing

What a gem of a place!  Friendly, warm welcome, and a lovely big room.  Spectacular view of the loch and mountains.  Food is amazing.  The whole hotel has a very relaxed and cool vibe.  The bed was superbly comfortable with high quality bedding.  Large bathroom with lovely deep bath and loads of hot water.  Breakfast was tasty and plentiful.  Only downside was weather wasn’t quite good enough to sit out in the beautiful garden. There are a few week nooks and crannies to curl up with a book or just chat and sip wine. 

The Inn is a perfect place to chill out and recharge.  So looking forward to a return visit. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Lovely relaxing two nights spent here, was very quiet at the Inn and lovely to be able to sit out looking over Loch Tummel with a relaxing feeling and with glass of wine in hand 😊👍🏻. Jade was welcoming and food was nice.
