We stayed in this pretty cottage at the end of July. It was our second visit and once again we really enjoyed our stay. The cotttage is very spacious with a pretty living room, large kitchen with dining area and two well appointed bedrooms, each with their own stunning bathrooms as well as a small study and laundry room. There is a charming and secluded garden at the rear. The adjacent tea room had a wonderful range of cakes and it was also possible to dine in the main hotel which serves lavish five course meals.

The location is excellent as it's near the coast and surrounded by beautiful countryside whilst being within easy reach of Eastbourne, Lewes and Brighton.  It's also close to Glyndebourne which was one of the main reasons for our visit. Charleston and Rodmel (haunts of the Bloomsbury set), are both nearby. There are good pubs within walking distance.

A Home from Home - Wishing Well Cottage

Lots of space - very comfortably furnished and well equipped.  The garden was private and very pretty with outside seating and a charming garden room.

David and his staff were extremely helpful and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble!

Very comfortable bed and lovely spacious bathrooms.

Ideal location for walking, visiting surrounding villages and towns such as Lewis.

Will definitely stay again

Beautiful well-equipped cottage with delightful private garden

This hotel is delightful. Warm welcome and caring staff. Dine in an elegant restaurant with an excellent menu of courses with a difference. Bedroom was comfortable and quiet. We shall go back again if we can.

An absolute must

Having visited crossways for the first time last year to celebrate our wedding anniversary and because we enjoyed our stay so much we decided to book again this year.david and clive,who appear to do just about everything,are the perfect hosts.our balcony room was a immaculate.spacious,spotlessly clean and well equipped.the dining and breakfast rooms are beautifully decorated.the dining room feeling intimate and cosy while the breakfast room is brighter.the food is faultless with the seafood pancake and pork tenderloin roulade being the stand out dishes for us on this visit.

We found David and all his crew very helpful and the hotel was very comfortable.
We had a problem with our shower and this was handled very well by David himself.
Our only disappointment was not being able to eat in the restaurant but we only booked on our arrival day so no room.

Anniversary weekend

We had to find somewhere last-minute, close to Eastbourne. Crossways fitted the bill admirably. The owners & staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean, the garden is lively and the food was carefully judged.

Very friendly, lovely garden

Have been trying to work out how long I've been coming to Crossways - maybe 15 years, possibly longer.  The location, welcome, facilities and hospitality have always been and continue to be perfect.  I was thinking I might move in ...

Home from home

This hotel is a little gem.  As pretty inside as out. The rooms are lovely.  The food is really good.   The hosts, David and Clive are first class. They have years of experience pleasing their guests and are still top notch.  The gardens are super.   Coffee in the grand gazebos.

Close to the south downs and Glyndebourne.   
Worth a visit.  Dinner then room and breakfast.   A treat.

Perfect

Very warm welcome both when we arrived and later in the evening after Opera, comfortable room and excellent choices for breakfast, the small gardens are superb either for a stroll or to sit and relax...….we will definitely be back next year

super small hotel convinient for Glyndebourne and South Downs

As many have said you'll get a very friendly welcome here. My wife and I were going to Glyndbourne so didn't try the restaurant; however breakfast was excellent. The room was of a reasonable size with a compact but comprehensive en-suite with shower. The room was very quiet. The gardens are lovely. Plenty of parking. 
We arrived at about 2pm and wanted something to eat locally.  David, the co-owner of Crossways, recommended the tea rooms opposite which was just as lovely; he even brought us a very pleasant glass of wine drink whilst we had an excellent baled potato. 
I think that Crossways would make a perfect base for two or three days exploring the area.
