We booked the suite amazing value very clean it was absolutely great the staff were so happy and helpful food was lovely can’t wait to book again

Visiting family

Had the 3 course Christmas menu...
WASTED  £25  ...just awful,
The starters were pitifully,
The plates and food were cold, hardly any vegetables, no sage and onion stuffing,  no meringue in the eton mess what so ever,
 was more like a sickly mess, 
Staff were so disinterested, the whole meal was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT 

DONT BOTHER....WASTE OF MONEY 

I recently had a small wedding reception held here starting with a meal for  35 family and friends . Couldn’t fault the 3 course meal then upstairs for the evening where staff had prepared a fabulous buffet . Accomadation was very spacious and clean .. can highly recommend .. Excellent

Great location but it needs a deep clean and the stairway smells so bad. The bed sheets and toilet were clean but the other furniture and shower hadn't been cleaned for a bit. It's a shame as it could be a great hotel.

Needs cleaning better but good location

Poor customer service, unsuitable crockery and glassware. The staff member was unprofessional in both  attitude and appearance. No smile or welcome.  On enquiring what cakes were available for their Coffee and Cake promotion, we were told "only lemon drizzle cake" - with a take it or leave it attitude. We left it, perhaps  "cake of the day is lemon drizzle" would have been more encouraging.  I am not sure any amount of Customer Training would help this lady, I think she just didn't want to be there, let alone be helpful or welcoming.
We sat at a table for 4 persons that set out for 2, the lady asked us to move as she had set it up for evening service.
The drinks  were both served in a messy crockery (as in photograph). The  double whisky in a dirty half pint glass, that we requested was changed,  preferably to a whisky glass and were told they didn't have any, the nearest type was a large brandy glasses. We spotted a short water glass and the whisky was poured into it.
We were then presented with the bill £9.50, we paid it with amusement, no apology or enquiry to ask if everyone was okay.
We called in for a drink to suss out the ambiance  for booking a family meal there. We will never return and would suggest others call prior to booking there.

Poor and messy service 

Found the receptionist a little inattentive which  gave us a negative impression from the point of entry. When asked if we could have a table to eat dinner we were told yes but not until 5.30pm, it was 5.29pm when we asked. The receptionist/bar staff sat as at a table and made us feel like we were too early. No one came to our table til just after 6pm. It was the longest wait ever. I walked up to the bar to the young man working to ask if we can be served or at least get an estimate of when we will be served, and he didn’t even acknowledge me. 
 
My food tasted a bit like it had been defrosted. My partners was really good! He enjoyed it very much. But the cheesy garlic bread I must say was so good!  The chips were nice too. Perhaps if I had chose something different the overall rating may have been better?! 

The two waitresses working were absolutely brilliant and very attentive and accommodating. It was like we were suddenly in a different place because of them.

If it weren’t for the long wait and reluctance to seat us we would probably return.

Just Good

Haven’t been to Blueberry Inn for years. My wife basically dragged me there last night and we had a lovely meal. Food tasted really good and the staff were top rate. I very much doubt if it will be a further 10 years before we return. Really enjoyed our evening.

Lovely meal

Stayed one night, had a lovely big room on the top floor, but it was a mixture of new and run-down. Big bathroom with waterfall shower and fancy lights set around the bath, but floor tiles needed re-grouting. If you need to wash your hair in the shower you will have to get out of the shower to get to the shampoo as it's only available in the bath!. Smallest towels I have ever found in a hotel. Bed was  lovely and comfortable, but pillowcases were stained. Hairdryer and iron in room, but neither worked.  We spent 5 minutes trying to find the switch that turned on the lights set in the floor but to no avail. Huge mirrored wardrobe but only one side is accessible, the other side had a nail stuck in the runner to stop you moving it. However the hotel is in a great position and the staff are lovely. For the price it wasn't value for money but I think we paid a premium as it was a rugby weekend. 
It's listed as a boutique hotel, it's not, but it's quirky which is not a bad thing. Just needs a bit more care taken.

We came here for a Sunday lunch and have been here a few times before. 

Quality and flavour is lovely, and we’ve never been disappointed. Good value for money.

£12.95 for 1 course and the option of additional courses - great choices. 

Service was good. Wish they had soft drinks on draught, as the silly little bottles don’t last long.

Lovely Sunday Roast

Staff are short on hand in the bar/restaurant area but are helpful and friendly. A bit over priced for what you get but otherwise OK. You can get a far cheaper breakfast next-door at the Crazy Croissant if you wanted. Room was OK but fading with time and the windows were filthy on the outside, we ordered a room for 3 but the room drinks pack was placed for 2! Overall our stay WAS a good experience and it was lovely to see Pontpridd, the history of the building is hidden and is a lovely place.
