Stayed here with Alfa Travel on a Xmas break. Really lovely Hotel. All the Staff especially Craig the Manager were so warm and friendly. We found the meals to be really good. The beds were comfortable and clean. The weather was awful but we still had a great time. We will return hopefully during the Summer months.. 

Great 5 day Break

First time with Alpha Travel and was not disappointed.  Went for 4 night Christmas break with 7 friends.   Picked up locally by Kieran and had a good drive to Porthcawl.  Coach was comfortable and had a stop on the way.

When we got to the hotel, the manager Craig, came onto the coach to greet us and go through the check in process.  Was very straightforward and went straight to our rooms.  We took our own cases up but they do get delivered to your room if you want to.  Had a side view of the sea which was lovely.  

During our stay we were amazed at how hard the staff worked.  Very impressed as Craig was in the thick of it all rather than just delegating to others.

Meal times.  I thought that this could be quite lengthy due to the amount of guests there but this was not the case.  As soon as we sat down for breakfast, coffee and tea was brought to the table.  Extra was available if needed.  

3 of our party needed gluten free food and this has been a problem in the past but not so this time.  Pretty much all of the food could be made gluten free including the biscuits for the cheese dessert.  The dining room staff were very friendly and very efficient with getting our food.  Cannot praise them enough.

Had 2 trips as part of package.  1 to Cardiff (Tuesday) and 1 to Swansea (Thursday).  Unfortunately the weather was bad on the Thursday so we ended up drinking gluhwein but this was no great hardship.

Had bingo on each of the nights but there are separate areas to sit if you do not want to take part.  Christmas day was on the Wednesday with a full Christmas lunch.  We all wore Christmas clothing and headwear during the stay.  Definitely believed it was Christmas by the end of the day. 

Thursday was optional fancy dress for the evening meal and we saw some fantastic outfits.

Porthcawl is lovely for a walk along the seafront and harbour with plenty of cafes along the way.  There are also pubs to go to if you do not want to stay at the hotel.

It was altogether a great introduction to Alpha Travel for me.  We have already booked next year's festive break so looking forward to November 2024 :)

Christmas comes early

I went with 7 friends on the "Christmas week" break .The staff were very friendly and helpful. If there was a problem it was sorted as soon as possible eg I couldn't get my radiator to heat up properly. Reported it to reception and it was quickly fixed. The hotel is in a lovely position on the sea front, close to shops and cafes. It is easily accessible to wheelchairs with a ramp at the front and a lift. The food at the hotel was excellent, with a varied choice for meals, including vegan. The excursions to Cardiff and Swansea were good and our coach driver was very knowledgeable about the places to visit there. Thank you Harry! 
Would I go again? YES.

Excellent break

Just come back from a long weekend at the Seabank Hotel with Alfa travel 
The hotel is absolutely amazing we love staying here think its our 6th time... the new manager Craig had certainly turned the hotel around 
Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff 
Always there to make sure your stay is enjoyable 
The new lounge area is beautiful and cozy on a evening 
The new entertainment programme is wonderful 
The restaurant staff are extremely friendly and the food is now to a good standard lots of choice and all needs catered for
The little extras that the staff at the hotel did during the stay make the trip special 
The head receptionist Sandija is so lovely and she goes out of her way to help and support any guests with the needs 
Can't wait to return in June 24


Fantastic stay 

I went to the Seabank on an externally organised dancing weekend in November.

I found the hotel a cosy hotel and the staff were very helpful, polite, efficient, well organised and worked well as a team.  There were many young staff who appeared well trained and it was nice to be greeted by a smile. My refurbished single room was very comfortable and well equipped. and there was a high level of cleanliness throughout. I enjoyed the food which was tasty, of good quality, served hot and quickly and well presented - a medal for the person who was in charge of the poached eggs - not often you get them perfect every time. The restaurant staff were particularly well organised and on the ball. 
The downsides were no  wifi and poor mobile phone signal quality except in the small front lounge and the dance floor where the pieces were slotted together but did not fit perfectly so causing trip hazards -  not good for a dance weekend. Hopefully the dance floor will be improved and once that is done then the next dance weekend will be perfect. 


Friendly, comfortable  and well organised hotel in central location.

Visited this hotel with a party of friends on an Alfa coach holiday.  The reception area appears to have been recently upgraded and the staff were very welcoming.
Our room (205) was on the second floor overlooking the car park. It was a little on the small side but adequate for a 4 night stay and was clean and well decorated.  The ensuite had a large shower and seemed to have been recently refurbished.  We would have liked more wardrobe space as the one provided was quite small. Normal facilities i.e. tea/coffee, tv and hair dryer provided. The room was very quiet at night.
The dining room is very large, bright and airy and again seems to have been recently decorated. The staff were very good (shout out to our waitress Hannah).  The food choices were good and it was well cooked with ample portion sizes, both breakfast and evening meal were table served with chefs specials available if ordered at breakfast.
The lounge areas around the bar were nice spaces to meet up with friends and the bar staff were great.  There was entertainment and bingo every night and the artists were very good.  The dance floor was quite small and the seating area in the entertainment room was quite cramped, it gave the impression that the room had been made smaller with the addition of a partition wall?
We had a great time at the Seabank and it’s probably the best Leisureplex hotel we’ve stayed in.  The hotel is right on the sea front and only a short walk from the small town centre.  During our stay we saw families booking in to the hotel (it was half term) and there is on site parking.

Warm Welsh Welcome

Although it's the first week of opening for the season, everything was spot on good food, good entertainment and  very friendly staff got to mention Daniel the hotel Manager couldn't do enough for you, a really genuine chap, will  definitely return,we were on a Alfa coach trip, just one of many, would recommend it to anyone well done 

Alfa coach holidays 

Came with my friend just before Christmas for 4 nights. We had 'Christmas Eve', 'Christmas Day' and 'Boxing Day' with entertainment each evening. The food was lovely with a choice for  tea every night, a substantial breakfast and a couple of dinners thrown in for good measure.
  Although the hotel didn't look great from outside as it had scaffolding up, there had been a lot of modernisation inside. Our room was big and clean with a lovely bathroom and a sea view. All the staff throughout the hotel were lovely. 
  It's right on the seafront and only a few minutes walk from town. A great place to stay.

Pleasant stay

Beautiful location.. stunning walks from the front door! Ask for a sea view room.. Alfa hotel so yes it’s a bit tired in places .. food plentiful hot and tasty.. staff friendly and efficient.. a laid back atmosphere… just go and enjoy the unique scenery in Porthcawl!

Fab location, just go and enjoy!

This hotel is worn and shabby.  The menu reads well, but the food is second rate. You could read the paper through the meat it was so thin!! Our table was constantly missed out and we had to ask for service all the time, then the waitress was surly. We missed some meals and went to a nearby restaurant. However, there was plenty of hot water.
Would not recommend this hotel. Very disappointed
