I booked this place as wanted to take my husband away for his 60th and spoil him . We would normally stay at my friends or my sisters ( one lives in Bangor the other Caernarfon) but my sister was away and my friend doesn't have the space at the moment . We sometimes have booked a couple of nights in a B&B or hotel as well as staying at friends / sisters. 
Knowing the area ( Gwynedd ) as I lived there many years ago ( Llanrug ) I knew Portmadog would be a could choice . 
The B&B is in a great location , walking distance to centre , train station even 2 mins from Tesco / Aldi and Lidl  . Don't let this put you off as it was quiet and beautiful. 
Clair was super friendly and even greeted us at the door upon arriving . I had booked the large double room which had everything you could need . The art work on the walls everywhere was beautiful. I loved the one in our room . Even had rituals shampoo / body wash etc in the bathroom. ( shower which was good power ) spotless / clean room. 
Breakfast was amazing . Best breakfast we have had anyway and we are well travelled . Even had cappuccinos at breakfast ( only coffee I drink ) . We unfortunately never met Clair"s husband Steven but we will 100% be back and will book the cottage next time . 
Clair and Steven you should be so proud of your beautiful place . I'd shout from the roof tops to recommend Tudor Lodge to anyone .

Best B&B more 5 star then a 4

Third stay at Tudor Lodge and it gets better every stay. More like a boutique hotel than a B&B, rooms are stylish and comfortable with extra touches like fresh milk in fridge. Breakfast is a delight, choice of porridge, cereals, fruit, nuts, seeds, yogurt, meats, cheeses, pastries plus a freshly cooked breakfast of your choice. Great location with short walk from train station or plenty of parking if needed. I would highly recommend Tudor Lodge.

More boutique hotel than B&B

If you’re looking for a nice hotel that is  value for money then this is it. This hotel is immaculately clean and attention to detail has not been spared. The rooms are very comfortable, breakfast is exceptional with many options to choose  from.

Great location and value for money!

We had a great stay at the Tudor Lodge! We had a very warm welcome and the room was comfortable and very clean. There was a wide range of breakfast options, which was great. The owner gave us some great recommendations of local walks and information on how to get around on the bus.

Comfortable and clean room, great choice at breakfast!

Tudor Lodge was my base for a weekend whilst doing  Trailffest run. I was solo and had a single room here which was a great option. The room was spotlessly clean, big enough for one and en-suite was tight but really good. Shower was warm and powerful and the room was equipped with everything to make it a good choice. 

Coffee/tea facilities, fresh milk each day in the small fridge plus water were a nice touch too. Breakfast was lovely as was the host. Very friendly and welcoming. 

Would recommend and stay again if returning.

Welcoming, great location and spotlessly clean!

Absolutely superb hotel on edge of Porthmadog.Good location for travelling around this beautiful area of Wales.
Rooms are very comfortable with good quality beds and in room fridge,with daily fresh milk.
Claire is a superb host and cannot do more to make guests welcome.
Chef makes a fantastic cooked breakfast.
Highly recommend.

Terrific,immaculate hotel in beautiful Wales.

We stayed in the Tudor Lodge hotel in Porthmadog for a six-night stay whilst exploring Snowdonia. We had booked the hotel through an online booking website and were impressed by the reviews on this site. The hotel’s location suited our plans for taking the train to Carnarvon (ten-minute walk to the Harbour station), and also visiting some other attractions in Snowdonia by car.
We drove to North Wales and the Tudor Lodge has a very good amount of car parking for guests. Arriving late afternoon on a Saturday, we were met by our hosts and given a full briefing before being shown to our room, we found our hosts to be friendly, helpful and approachable.  The room was well equipped with double bed, bedside units, wardrobe, dressing table and a good number of electrical sockets. A flat screen TV gave access top Freeview channels. The hotel offers free wifi and we found this to be of sufficient speed to do browsing of websites and also uploading photos taken during the day. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided and milk was available from a small fridge in the wardrobe. A hairdryer was also available in the dressing table drawer.
The ensuite bathroom was equipped with toilet, sink and shower cubicle and was a reasonable size with room to move about. The bathroom had a heated towel rail but this did not appear to be able to be switched on and off by the guests. The bathroom was provided with towels and flannels and also some liquid soap toiletries. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were spotlessly clean and we slept well here during our stay, though there was some noise from the room above. 
Breakfast was served in the downstairs breakfast room and had a very good choice including cereal, porridge, fruit, cold meats, cheeses and a full English breakfast. We tend to have a large breakfast in the morning to see us through the day and the breakfast here was amazing, certainly one of the best we have experienced in our travels.
All in all, a most enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of Wales, we thought it was hard to fault any aspect of our accommodation. We would certainly visit here again if we were to stay in Snowdonia and would (and in fact have), unreservedly recommend it to others.


Most enjoyable stay in Snowdonia

Great location and great owners. Had a warm welcome when arrived and the rooms were comfortable and just what you need for a week away. Breakfast was everything you could ask for continental and cooked and all very yummy. Would definitely recommend this place.

Relaxing and amazing

We received a lovely welcome from Steve.
The accommodation was perfect! Spotlessly clean and the amenities excellent.
Breakfast was very high standard with exceptional choice especially the continental choices.
We found Tudor Lodge was extremely good value for money and we will definitely be staying again.
