Gradbach Mill was the perfect place for our team to spend time together working and relaxing. It's a stunning location with wonderful walks from the doorstep and is a beautiful and restorative place to spend time.  The meeting room was a decent size, light and well equipped, and we were looked after so well by Colin and the team.  Great, home-cooked food (and plenty of it!), all the tea, coffee and biscuits we could handle, and really comfortable and well-equipped en-suite rooms. Having done such events before (a 2-day leadership meeting), I think Gradbach Mill is the best venue I've ever used - great value, receptive and accommodating to our needs, peaceful, friendly, beautiful. We all left planning to come back - either for work or leisure - as soon as possible!

, loved the shower . Just stunning!!!!! Breakfast was amazing . We booked this a bit randomly and last minute but so happy that we did . Will def come back and do the circular walk from here . Everything you could want and more !

A company getaway

A superb setting for our yoga retreat.  Bedrooms of easily 4star hotel standard with comfy beds, well equipped ensuites and nice little finishing touches.

During our stay the team catered for all our meals, providing a great choice of options at each meal.  We'd elected a vegetarian menu and the flavours were superb and tasted delicious.  Our vegan friend didn't miss out either with superb alternatives when necessary.

The Team on duty that weekend were top quality and a breath of fresh air.  A total asset to the mill.

A great location and I'd seriously consider as a venue for family gatherings in 2024. Belter of a place.

Charming accommodation and quality food.  Win win

We have been running a couple of late summer, long weekend retreats at Gradbach Mill  for the past 4 years. We have found the team there all extremely personable, super obliging and helpful. The facilities are well presented and maintained. The bedrooms are all lovely with luxurious showers and bedding. The food is beautiful; plentiful and delicious. Our guests are always really impressed by the location, the Mill is in a wonderful position for walks from the door and to explore the Peak District. Being beside a river, having a firepit and lovely field to use, makes it the perfect venue for us. We hope to be back again soon! 

Heartfelt Thanks 

Absolutely wonderful and well equipped group accommodation, the only thing that would have made it perfect being a communal toilet! We all agreed that adding a toilet and washbasin, perhaps to to the drying room or games room, would be so helpful and would avoid dripping water all over the house when leaving the hottub for the bathroom. 

Other than that this property was just phenomenal. The quiet and peaceful location was perfect for us and the two fridges, plus wine fridge, large cooker, dishwasher and ample food storage meant that we could order a Tesco delivery to the property for the first afternoon and be self sufficient for the rest of the weekend. 

We rent a property as a group of 14 on a yearly basis and The Farmhouse kitchen was the best equipped that we've had thus far. The beds were comfortable, the house toasty warm and inviting, the hot tub was huge, the communal spaces were cosy and relaxing, but with impressive features too. 

Everywhere was beautifully clean, every room had its own en suite with big fluffy towels and basic toiletries provided. There was also a house manual and ideas for local walking routes such as the nearby Luds Church, The Three Shires Head and The Roaches, all of which were stunning. 

We also visited The Red Lion for Sunday lunch (10 min drive) and were incredibly impressed with them too. 

We loved everything about our weekend away and are now looking at booking for next year. If there could just be a communal toilet installed then we'd be totally blown away and I imagine we'd visit time and time again!!! 

One final note - I woke to a tyre that was approaching being flat on our final morning. I knocked on The Mill's door opposite and the dark haired, smiley faced cleaner could not have been more helpful, lending me her electric compressor and telling me to 'just leave it in the kitchen after' as they'd be cleaning there next. I can't tell you how grateful we were to her, as the property is very remote. 

So many little touches that made our weekend together a happy and memorable one. Thank you Gradbach Mill and Farmhouse - we hope to stay with you again!

Wonderful weekend in The Farmhouse

The farmhouse was exceptionally well equipped to suit a family group of 13.  The adults really appreciated the hot tub and the children enjoyed the table football and the extensive grounds to run around and have water fights.
The owners were very helpful when answering questions prior to our stay and the information folder was very useful.
I would certainly recommend this property to large groups.

The Farmhouse at Gradbach

We were looking for a venue to host and cater a stag do for 24 people. We’re so glad we found Gradbach as it was absolutely perfect for this. The setting itself is glorious, nestled next to the river with animals grazing in the surrounding fields. The communication from Colin and the team was superb in the lead up to the event, making the weekend as smooth as possible. The food was of a very high standard - we had a buffet dinner, 2 great breakfast spreads, a gentleman’s afternoon tea and a three course evening meal, all superbly prepared and absolutely delicious. The bedrooms were clean,  comfortable and well furnished and the communal area was well equipped with a pool table, karaoke machine and bar. The team also organised activities at a nearby activity centre for us to take part in during our stay. 

We had a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable time at Gradbach and would recommend it anyone planning any kind of group stay. Huge thanks to Colin and his team for making the weekend such a success.

Relaxing stag do weekend

Perfect venue to get friends together as there is the option of hotel type rooms or camping. Breakfast was fabulous with choice of hot and cold food including a great selection of fresh fruit. The location is perfect for chilling out on the site or walking the surrounding stunning countryside. There’s no need to get back in your car as everything is there for you. We especially enjoyed the camp fire of an evening and the kids enjoyed playing in the adjacent t river. I hope we return to this very special place.

Friends reunion

Amazing location nestled in little River valley; surrounded by interesting walks, loads of privacy at the rear and loads of room to play in. Staff were lovely, helpful, personable and efficient. Bent over backwards on dietary requirements. Food was great quality and plentiful. Rooms excellent - rainfall showers with LOTS of water pressure, really comfy BIG beds and outstanding blackout blinds. People on here moaning about noise from next door rooms - no more than most hotels, and free earplugs in the bedside cabinets.....
Couldn't recommend enough, we were here as a group of 50, and will likely be back. With more. 😂 Fire pit just over the river was brilliant, karaoke machine great and pool table and massive video screen/cinema room ideal for all the teens 😂
