Great service and beautiful rooms plus a convenient location for meetings in Reading,  I would definitely recommend this to anyone planning a business trip to Reading.  The attention to detail and the small touches are (for me) what always makes the difference.

Stunning rooms

We selected this B&B for its proximity to L'Ortolan which we were visiting for an anniversary dinner.  We only wanted a room for the night but we got a wonderfully warm welcome, a lovely well appointed room, excellent breakfast, great hospitality - and a lift to and from the restaurant.  Highly recommended.

Excellent service, we arrived a bit early and Alma was a little surprised to see us there, but she fixed everything so we could get the bags in and get our room after a while. The room was great, clean and beautiful. There was coffee machine, tea biscuits water etc. Nice sheets and everything were great. And then you had Brian and Alma, perfect service and great hosts. It was all perfect!

Perfect!

On arrival we had a lovely warm reception from Brian & Alma. The room was lovely, and full of lots of amenities, from tea & coffee making machines, lovely home made cakes and bottles of water. The room was very clean & tidy and quiet during the night. The attention to detail and service is very high end. Brian & Alma were perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for you. The ham we had for breakfast was home cooked as well as preserves and were exceptional. It is also very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend staying here

One night in April

We chose the Cricketers based on the reviews on here and certainly weren’t disappointed.

What makes it is Brian and Alma. Faultless attention to detail, and Brian even took and collected us from L’Ortolan.

Wonderful overnight stay

We stayed at The Cricketers for one night last weekend. The bedroom was fabulous, with great furnishings and terrific little extras - pod coffee maker, freetrade tea, fresh fruit, home made cake, chocolates. The house itself has been renovated with the finest quality wood and furnishings. Brian was charm and efficiency personified. He kindly drove us to the restaurant at which we were having dinner, and then came back to pick us up at the end of the evening. Breakfast was excellent, with home made jams and marmalade, and fabulous local cheeses. All in all, it was an absolutely joy to stay there.

A fabulous surprise

We had a one night stay here, before a flight back to the States the next afternoon. We were so impressed by the amenities - the rooms are full of all the things you'd expect from a high-end major hotel chain. Not to mention being super-clean, and very comfortable. However, the truly best thing about this B&B is the owners. We received a genuinely warm welcome, delicious cake and even a special treat as it was NYE. Breakfast in the morning was tasty, and we wished we could have stayed and chatted more. The trip to LHR was quick and easy. This is our go-to spot for the night before flights now!

Lovely stay and convenient to Heathrow

Really nice place will probably stay here again.. noticed it's up for sale though which is a shame. The rooms are very nice and much better than a lot of places I have stay away with for work. I will keep my out for offers next year for the odd night
