Awful experience! We went in October and it got flooded and they were no help, we ended up leaving early after them not really caring we couldn’t get in or out our caravan without walking through about 2 foot of water. After me constantly ringing them and expressing how unhappy we were they said they’d refund me but took me a while to get them to actually agree on that! But would only refund the 2 days left and not the day we’d arrived! Nearly a month later and I still haven’t got a refund and they are ignoring us? Terrible customer service plus to actually get your keys you need to pay £150 deposit! That eventually went back in 2 weeks after we left. Pictures of the flood don’t really fully show how bad it was, but there response was they couldn’t help it and they’d try get us in the keep as close to our caravan as possible even though it was all around the caravan.

Absolutely disgusting park. DO NOT buy a caravan on this site or even holiday there. The staff are horrible & stuck up they will not help you & your belongings will be stolen. Worst park iv ever stayed on

Avoid at all cost

We checked in about 6.30 pm and by 7 pm after checking our caravan it had damaged walls and toilet door handle broken in the door. We emailed the damage with pictures straight away and they didn’t reply. We contacted reception which was diverted to night staff straight away with no help. We then reported to reception first thing the next day who told us they already knew about the faults. They didn’t offer a different caravan or refund. About two days later we turned fridge of as it was making a whoosh noise which we also reported.
I have also asked for a direct email so we can put an official complaint in but again they haven’t replied.

Damaged caravan and no help from staff

Been staying here for 9 years love this caravan park Louise Rhian and Hannah are absolutely lovely Eric malachy and the rest of the staff in the bar can't do enough to help you caravan site is fantastic food in cafe is lovely caravan was lovely it's like one big family there we can't wait to come back love Tracey and linsey from the first caravan 💗💗

What can I say about this place, an absolute disgusting caravan site,there is nothing there, there's a tiny shop and the price are absolutely extortionate,the bar are so expensive, the pool dirty full of uman hair. They got a  cafe, I went in for a snack I ordered fish and chips so when it came. I was gob smacked, the fish was  literally a fish finger so I went back  I said  what's this? They replied fish and chips, well take back because I don't want that, I paid ten pounds for that,and I just walked away, so for me  zero star. 

Holiday park

Our family, three adults and two young children, (one 8 and one 4 years old)  recently returned from our holiday at the Marine Holiday Park, Rhyl. 

Checking in on the Friday, was quick and well organised and we arrived at our Lodge after a few minutes. Our first impressions of our accommodation was very good, the lodge looking clean, spacious and well located next to the lake. A lovely touch was a bottle of white wine waiting for us in the Lodge! A big thank you for that kind thought! After unpacking, we had chance to explore our rooms and make use of the facilities that Swan View had to offer. Sadly, although advertised as “Wrap around decking”, we had 2 separate decks, one each side of the Lodge.

Within a few minutes, we realised that the Lodge was not as clean as we thought, as, our 3-year-old grandson was scooting around the kitchen and lounge area on his bottom and within a very short time had accumulated really very dirty trousers. Even doing this in our home for many days has never attracted as much dirt as this. We are of the opinion that although the floors may have been swept or vacuumed, the laminate flooring appeared never to have been mopped for a very long time and were “sticky” under foot. I moved the coffee table closer to the large couch to put on drinks and I found a large sweater underneath it, which was not ours! This indicates that the carpet was obviously not vacuumed properly. This prompted us to check around. On investigation we found the following, over this and the next three days, - and these were reported on 4 occasions, and written out for their Staff in Reception.

Broken toilet seat, 
Sink plug that would not stay down in ensuite bathroom,
Ensuite towel rail/heater rusty and plastic fittings missing,
Shower screens in both bathrooms dirty,
Main toilet door lock “sticking”, (Granddaughter locked in on one occasion.)
Joining strips on both bathroom sinks missing,
Hot Tub cover was missing straps to tie down and hanging in the tub,
Outside chairs, on moving from under table had bird poo on them,
Frying pan and other pans dirty. Main oven filthy with chips still in oven and grease,

Because of the dirty floors, every time we returned to the lodge from going out, we had to make sure that we changed our Grandson into his already dirty and ruined shorts/trousers to avoid damaging any others.

On Sunday, we happened on a “Welcome to your Lodge” package which was found on top of the fridge/freezer, - not obvious for anyone to find!  Surely, this should have been placed where we could obviously see it! On checking the inventory, we found/didn’t find the following:

No Placemats (8),
No DVD player in Lodge,
Knife block, knives missing and broken,
Drinking glasses missing,
Other cutlary missing,

Some of these things were reported as we didn’t want to be charged for their loss or damage, some because we couldn’t use them properly, - for example, the sink plug in our ensuite didn’t work properly, which made the sink very difficult to use as we couldn’t stop water from flowing down the plughole unless we used our flannels to try and block it!
Having reported these items on the Sunday, (day after we arrived) by the Tuesday we had not heard anything about fixing or replacing any of them so we visited the reception to find out if anything was going to be done.

On this occasion, my wife made it very clear, that the Hot Tub, in particular was a “Serious Health and Safety” issue as our grand-children could easily fall into the uncovered tub and as it was open to the elements, we had also decided not to use it until it was fixed. We tried to use the decking but it was not a relaxing experience as we continually had to make sure our Grandson (in particular) did not go near the dangerous Hot Tub. Also, because of this danger, we were unable to leave open the two sliding doors leading onto the decking which made our lounge area uncomfortably hot.

After this Tuesday visit, the maintenance man came and reported that he couldn’t fix our plug and had to order a new one and couldn’t fix the Hot Tub to make it safe. There was no mention about replacing the toilet seat which, on three or four occasions pinched my wife’s leg and on one occasion my Granddaughter’s when she needed to use it - or providing items like the place mats or DVD player that were missing!

On the Wednesday morning we had notification that the Hot Tub cover would be replaced that afternoon, which it was. On the Thursday, whilst we were packing for our return journey, two members of staff arrived to do the regular Hot Tub cleanse and top-up and commented that the Tub was very dirty and I hastened to say to them that this wasn’t due to us as we hadn’t used it at all because of the broken cover. Sadly, we never used the Hot Tub as a result.

Other aspects of cleanliness, - 

On changing the plastic bin bag in the kitchen, we found the inside of the bin wet and dirty which we cleaned to the best of our ability.
Loose Ice cubes left in freezer, not cleaned,
Our Headboard had dust on it,
On the side of the bedside table in the Master bedroom, was found lots of dust, (and a 20p piece!),
On the last day when searching for a shoe that my wife had lost, she found that on looking under the dressing table, the dressing table stool back leg appeared to be broken. We did not use this stool, but surely if the cleaning was done properly, then it should have been found and replaced previously.

A separate issue was that in our opinion the quilts and sheets in the bedrooms were too small for the beds, - particularly the master bedroom. There wasn’t enough sheet to tuck in on both sides of the bed and the quilt barely covered both of us.

Now parking, which everyone that we spoke to grumbled about. We were told that we had allocated parking. This was not the case! - and advertising “Allocated Parking” when there isn’t any is false advertising! (As is a missing DVD player!) There is parking, but this was a free-for all! If you’re lucky there may be a slot, otherwise you might have to park a distance from your plot. Several people using the parking area near our Lodge came from a hundred yards away and we had to park away from next to our Lodge several times.

In the Lodge on the mantelpiece was a “Certified clean & safe” certification card. In our opinion, and from our above observations, the Lodge wasn’t “cleaned and safe” and “checked properly” nor action taken until the words “Health and Safety” was used. This is clearly not acceptable.

The amount of money that we paid for the use of this 1 year old Lodge and facilities, £2599.03 for one week, when we had so many problems, which were not fixed and spoilt our enjoyment of the Lodge and subsequently our holiday, was certainly not worth it. No use of the Hot Tub and decking and a dirty Lodge!

On our return home, we contacted the Holiday Park by phone, (three calls) and by email, (twice) addressing the later to the managers/owners. They never bothered to reply to any message or call we made!

We have dealt with the main negatives of our holiday. On a positive, the pool was nice but had to be booked in advance and the short booking slots were reduced by 15 minutes as you were called out by staff. The location of the park was good for exploring North Wales. 

Would we go back? Not a chance! The management really need to care for their clients! When we complained we enclosed 22 photos and not a reply or even offer of compensation! This was a new Lodge, less than a year old, goodness knows what an older one would be like! Do not waste your precious holiday time or money! Find somewhere else. It will be interesting to see whether the Marine Holiday Park has the guts to now answer my review.


Very unhappy experience at Marine Holiday Park, Rhyl.

Really disappointed. Took my son in the hope of doing some fishing in the lake on the park, however you can’t even see the lake it’s so overgrown everywhere no fishing pegs to speak of as they’re getting overgrown. One disappointed little lad. Also the dog poo bins on the park were absolutely overflowing

Two girl's that delt with our visit with a view to buying a static home we're very professional and really nice girl's, so much we put down a deposit £1000 , but later decided not to pursue our purchase,  had to travel back yo Rhyl from Liverpool to sign gor our deposit refund,  then waited for a few weeks only to get a cheque with my surname splet wrong   so after numerous phone calls by me but non returned from I can only say the most unprofessional disrespectable person called Sophie haywood, eventually a nice lad can't remember his name got hold of her and sorted it out,  not good customer service from Sophie haywood!!!

Some people are nice ?

DISGUSTING PLACE! Do not waste your money!! 
We visited here and were absolutely disgusted to say the least. We paid £600 for a Monday - Friday break in the 6 weeks holidays. This disastrous ‘holiday’ only ended up lasting 2 and a half days before the entire family decided we NEED to leave and cannot continue our holiday here. The cleanliness of the caravan we stayed in was nothing far from disturbing. The caravan was apparently cleaned, and double checked by a manager, before our arrival. We stayed in a platinum plus & deluxe caravan. It is safe to say that this caravan was not cleaned! 
Here are a list of things we experienced: 
1) Excessive blood splatters up the wall in the twin bedroom, where myself and my 5 year old son were sleeping. I pulled out the bed so I could make a ‘double’ bed, and whilst doing this I noticed the large amounts of blood that were on the wall. I instantly felt sick and refused to spend another second in the bedroom. It is no secret that blood can transmit numerous diseases and viruses, and for this to be in a bedroom is shocking. To add to this, we found 2 spots of blood on one of the duvets, which was not used and we had to use our own belongings, such as coats, to keep warm at night. 

2)  The issues began at check in. The queues were long, which is understandable to a degree being a busy time of year. However, after queueing with my mother who has severe arthritis for around 20 minutes, the reception staff were really unhelpful and told us we were in the wrong queue and to rejoin the back of the other one, also about 20 minutes long. There needs to be clear signage up as people behind us were also in the wrong queue so it seemed to be happening to everyone. 

3) Car parking is sparse, with only 7 car parking spaces outside of reception. Cars were queuing to get a parking space, causing havoc outside on the road. The swimming pool is located right next to the car park which is extremely dangerous with kids running around excitedly, right next to an extremely busy car park where no one knows what they’re doing. 

4) Upon arrival, the bathroom was in an absolute state. The glass door on the shower was still covered in the previous families shampoo/soap etc. The toilet was filthy, and the sink just looked like it hadn’t been touched by any cleaning products for many years. This resulted in us travelling to a supermarket to buy our own cleaning supplies, and spent the first few hours of our holiday cleaning. 

5) Around the dining table was walls which had old food on, which had clearly not been attempted to remove by cleaners. We wiped over the table with the cleaning products we purchased, and the cloth was BLACK! It was full of grime which made us feel physically sick to think if we hadn’t have cleaned it, we’d have been eating our dinner on there a little later on. 

I will list a few other things that came to our attention, and played a part in us leaving our holiday early:
*CARPET SMELLY, STICKY AND FULL OF TOE NAILS,
*DUST EVERYWHERE - a thick layer on the extractor fan clearly saying ‘clean me’,
*EMPTY SPRAY BOTTLE UNDERNEATH BED IN TWIN BEDROOM,
*SAFETY RECHECK IN MICROWAVE OUT OF DATE WHICH COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS
*A DIRTY HAIR BOBBLE WITH HAIR WRAPPED AROUND IT ON THE PULL OUT SOFA BED, RESULTING IN TWO FAMILY MEMBERS NOT WANTING TO USE IT
*LEFT OVER FOOD IN THE FREEZER WHICH THE CHILD IN OUR FAMILY TRIED TO EAT, LUCKILY WE NOTICED THAT IT WAS NOT OUR FOOD AND STOPPED HIM FROM EATING IT

The facilities here are poor, there are no signs to direct you to the caravans, only one small frying pan and a grimy oven tray for 5 adults and 1 child.

DO NOT VISIT THIS HOLIDAY PARK!!!

We stayed there the weekend of 13-15th August, and the Caravan was ok, though we were expecting slightly bigger rooms. 

When we left the caravan, we cleaned everything and ensured everything was in order. However, a day later we received an e-mail that our deposit would not be returned due to a broken shelf! They sent a pic of a piece of wood on the bed without showing the full broken parts. We have not left anything like this, and this could be anything from anywhere. We have tried to reason with the management and understand where is this from...etc, but they were awful in communication and said they will take our deposit fully for this. So regardless if you break the entire caravan or do simple damage, they will max charge £100 no matter what level of damage is! which is extremely unfair. When we have asked for more photo details, the said oh we fixed it already so we can not provide more photos and there is nothing else we can offer you . They literally just took the money and told us to piss off and you cannot do anything about it. 

I strongly recommend anyone staying there to take video or picture of all the rooms or get the house keeper to come and sign that everything is OK prior to leaving the caravan to avoid such awful experience!
