We were kindly booked in here by the owner (who also owns The Buck Inn). I had made a mistake with my booking for The Buck and by the time I realised the The Buck was fully booked. We were so grateful for our stay to be rearranged!!
The pub was busy with music in the bar but our room was so quiet we didnt hear a thing! Very comfortable bed, great shower and delicious vegetarian breakfast!!

So kind and helpful

This is a cracking pub with wonderful staff. The atmosphere is superb and the Timothy Taylor's Landlord spot on. Full marks to one of the locals who kindly moved aside when we entered so that we could order our drinks. The same happened when we returned our empty glasses on leaving.

Grim Mansions 
Turbo awful - walls stained like a Jackson pollack. Bathroom ceiling more mould than paint. Leaking shower and bathroom light didn’t work.  Breakfast from 8-930 and no way of ordering it if you weren’t already on way to work like normal humans.   I’ve stayed in war zones with more charm. So bad I paid for a second night but drove  5 hours through a night snow storm to avoid staying there again.  If this is the standard of hotels in Richmond I would rather sleep in my car.  Literally the pits

The 8th circle of hell

Turbo awful.  Room had enough stains for a Jackson Pollock painting and enough chips to paintwork that  assumed someone had put up a fair fight before being murdered.  Mould in bathroom, shower leaked and bathroom light didn’t work.  Breakfast served from 8-930. Super useful if you start work at an actual work time and I can’t imagine you would come here for fun unless you made a hobby of being miserable.

It was so awful that despite paying for a second night I chose to drive 5 hours in the dark through a snow storm rather than spend a second night at grim mansion. I’ve stayed in bombed out hotels in war zones with more appeal. Sleep in your car - save the money avoid like a rabid dog.  Bed was comfortable though.  (Murder is a metaphor)

Its back and better than it ever was. New people taken over. Home cooked food with proper delicious chips. Lasagne was big and yummy. Home made pie awesome. Friendly staff. Chef great. Highly recommend it. 

Back & Superb.

Just had a meal here and I had the lasagna chips and garlic bread it had so much flavour and a lot on my plate it was outstanding the staff have fantastic customer service skills very clean and tidy very friendly it was fantastic to meet the chef as well 💯 go here again

Fantastic food great company

Great place to stay, the manager Craig had not long taken over the pub and is a lovely man. When first booked through booking.com it was advertised as B+B but there was no breakfast available at that time which we were immediately informed of on arrival with apologies and the price for the room adjusted accordingly so it was very reasonably priced and would highly recommend to friends and family.

This place has really changed for the better, better service and friendly staff, great choice of wines, the atmosphere is fantastic we watched a live singer on both Friday and Saturday night we will be back for New Year’s Eve se you then guys 

Fabulous

Read a few negative reviews but wasn’t put off by them and so glad I didn’t. This place is great. Bed was really comfy, nice crisp linen and a lovely clean en suite.  Evening meal was delicious and the entertainment was awesome. Checked the Facebook page and noticed they have an act on every Friday and Saturday. Definitely booking to stay here again. Staff are very friendly too. 10/10.

Central location and great pub

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome by Craig, who led us to a very clean, well presented and warm bedroom. After check in, we went down into the bar, which was warm, inviting and again very clean. David served us drinks, discussed the house ale and told us of some great walks in the area to take our dogs. We then sampled the sharing platter, which is not for those watching their figure! It was massive. The food tasted delicious and everything was cooked to perfection and well presented. That night as we climbed into heaven, sorry the bed, we were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the mattress was and had a fantastic nights sleep. The bed linen is crisp and white, with plump pillows and an amazing quilt. The room was en suite, spotless and coffee and tea facilities were provided too. In the mornings, for breakfast, we were greeted by Charlotte one day and Laura the next, they make a fabulous full English and couldn’t do more for us. The whole stay surpassed our expectations and we left wanting to stay and relive the experience again. The location, staff, food and drink are outstanding. The team should be proud of the experiences and memories they create here. We will definitely return.
