Wonderful food.
Having stayed at the Swindon Park for 3 days this was the best food I had eaten in that time.
Pleasant staff, cosy surroundings in the centre of Masham which was a very pretty small town.

Lovely meal

Food was heated up out of the freezer (we heard the cook say so). Generally poor quality.  Spend a couple of pounds more and have properly prepared and cooked food at the White Bear. 
The beer was decent though, I suspect this is more of a drinkers pub.

Would not choose to eat here

Very warm welcome from Steph, who showed us to a table, the pub was clean and warm. Our two dogs were made very welcome with dog biscuits. Lovely menu with specials.

My husband had a burger and I had a parmo, food was delicious and very large portions, we were both full and no room for a desert.

Would definitely recommend a visit to this little gem of a pub.

Date night with dogs

My partner  myself and our cockapoo puppy tilly  visited masham 23rd -26th October we visited Bruce arms on 24th for evening meal and from the second we walked in we were welcomed and really looked after 
Such a lovely place great atmosphere  all staff are really friendly and great at looking after anything needed 
Being able to eat inside with our puppy was added bonus and she was welcomed and fussed over 
The food menu was a great variety the quality was fantastic 
We were so impressed we booked for the next night that was curry night and again. We were not disappointed the choice was great the service 
You must visit here book in advance as it was busy and people were being turned away ......would recommend this place to everyone it was fantastic real home warming welcoming place  which is hard to fund these days ........Amazing  keep up the great work 
Cant wait to visit again 

Place to visit in Masham......shouldn't be missed 

Went on Friday and had several drinks and a nice meal.  Went back on Saturday with the full intention of eating there again. Got a drink and it was served in plastic glasses despite sitting inside. My husband asked for proper glasses and was abruptly told “no.” We were paying top brass for not a full pint. We had one drink in our plastic vessels and left, never to return. If you can afford to treat patrons like that then crack on. It isn’t a steam fair every weekend.

Nice pub, shame about the staff and attitude

Very rude untrustworthy people who said we were going pinch a glass so if your thinking of going here please find somewhere else to stay, eat ,or drink!!! The white bear is a lot better more friendly place

Never go in again

We have eaten twice at The Bruce Arms during our weeks visit to Masham.
My Wife and myself accompanied by our small dog.
The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome.
We decided to book on both occasions and it was a good thing as we saw people being turned away due to the pub being full.
The food has been very good both nights, the first night we both had the Steak and Ale pie and it was delicious.
The second time I had the burger which was nice (just not as nice as the pie).
My Wife had the Chicken Parmo which was very big and very tasty.
The beer as you would expect is lovely too.
Old Peculier first night and Black Sheep and Theakston Bitter the second night.

Staying in Masham and eating out

Katie and Brian run a very friendly and welcoming establishment.
It was an absolute joy to be surrounded by such warm and friendly people.
Popping into The Bruce is an absolute must when visiting Masham.

The Bruce

On our way home to Ulverston on a motorbike from the Channel Tunnel, weary and ready for a rest, we were greeted with a warm welcome as we entered the bar.

The pub was very busy, but they found us a little corner to relax in. We requested pizza, but as they had run out,they russled us up some chips for a chip butty, which was just enough to keep us going for the next hour or so until we got home.

Thank you for the warm welcome. We will be back again for a little more lengthy stay and to take advantage properly of the menu.

Stop off on the way home

I have to declare a possible conflict of interest as Katie and Brian are friends. For integrities sake. Katie was at home Brian was eating his own meal. 

My friend and myself were served by a warm friendly and nothing was too much trouble staff team. 

Great beers on tap and a good choice of other beers etc. Environment was warm friendly comfortable and welcoming. Loved it. 

The steak with ALL the trimmings was done exceptionally well. Big thumbs up to the chef. The additional sauce was to be tasted to fully appreciate it.

Will be back soon to try other items on the menu. Myself and my friend had a great meal. Chilled evening. Great service. 

Would recommend without hesitation.
