An unplanned, unannounced arrival was met with good grace and a warm and friendly Yorkshire welcome by hostess Natalie - and The Beast (lovely Willie, cute and friendly little dog.)  What a treat to stay in such a special period house, complete with antique furnishings and Christmas lights!  Comfortable bedrooms, wonderful guests` sitting room with lots of lovely books, and a view from the huge bay sash and case windows there and also from the dining room - onto the winter trees fringing Masham`s  `The Holm`; green parkland beside the River Ure.  If you`d like to feel spoiled by Natalie, be a little separate from the busyness of lovely Masham and pretend you are part of a period drama, stay at Bank Villa!

Glamorous!

We stayed with Natalie, Rory and Willy for 5 nights and as always it felt like home, friendly, comfortable, great for those with any food allergies nothing is too much trouble.   The restaraunt/pub recommendations for evening meals was great too.  Will definately be back.

Week visit

We stayed at Bank Villa for 2 nights and enjoyed the lovely large Morris room very very much.  The room and very stylish en-suite are a joy to stay in.
Natalie, our host, is the perfect combination of warmth and hospitality without being intrusive. 
The breakfasts were way and beyond the quality we had hoped for so we are extremely pleased with every aspect - including the added bonus of Willy the cute and very friendly little resident dog. 
Bank Villa is a delightfully decorated Georgian house with many original features, large gardens and brilliant location for Masham centre.   If you are discerning and don’t fancy the anonymity of a larger hotel we can strongly recommend Bank Villa.

Beautiful house

Located in the quaint market town of Masham, Bank Villa is a stunning boutique style bed and breakfast.

Driving up to Bank Villa, you can’t help but be taken in by it’s beauty, and once inside, the rooms do not disappoint.

We stayed as a couple in the Wilberforce room, and everything was perfect, from the robes that are supplied to relax, right down to the tea and coffee that is provided. 

Breakfast, was lovely, with everyone’s needs catered for, including gluten free options! 

Bank Villa is situated in an ideal spot to explore both Masham and also the other gems hidden in the area. And we loved exploring the local breweries, as well as the market towns that are close by. 

We will definitely be back

Bank Villa, a little gem

Booked a stay at Bank Villa as a treat for my wife’s upcoming birthday. It is a lovely looking property from the outside with large garden and sells itself. On booking in we were greeted by the proprietor and handed our keys with directions to our room (Nightingale). No offer of refreshments were forthcoming or a tour of the downstairs rooms but a flask of milk was handed to us to make a drink in our room. On the way to our room we noted 3 other rooms very close together all on one landing  upon entering the room was smaller than the pictures suggested but still a double room the en-suite was an open shower cubicle with separate toilet and sink. In the bathroom the mirror has no shaving point for electric razor use and has limited space as it’s in the roof of the property, the door stuck tight to the frame so had difficulty to open (reported to the proprietor who said no one had reported this to her previously) The room was cold and has a glass door escape route in case of a fire with external staircase. This allows all guests to have access to the room if the fire alarm is raised. Our first night was a cold affair as the heating didn’t come on, when highlighting this the proprietor said she would check and readjusted the radiator thermostat, and said she would add an extra hour this still finished at 8pm and didn’t come on till 7am the next morning. On the way to breakfast there is a wall to wall pipe that looks rather like a handrail which is red hot, when the heating is on with no warning which we stated should be a priority to prevent putting a hand on it we were told by the proprietor that guests like to dry their wet items on the rail. This is a burning hazard as it’s very hot. I must confess the breakfast we received was exceptional fresh juice was offered with toast and jams and full English (the sausages are a must) overall We felt that Bank Villa is a potentially lovely place to stay but little tweaks would have improved our stay. Option of a king size quilt when colder evenings have arrived. No knowledge of a tv or room we could watch anything if choosing to (none supplied in room) Refreshment on arrival would have been welcomed 
Tour of sitting room dining area and conservatory would have been appreciated. This review is an honest reflection of our stay we felt at £95 per night the heating should be available far more than offered as it’s a large house with single glazing we still had a great time Masham is a lovely market town and enjoyed the Theakston”s brewery tour immensely well worth a visit.

Visit to Bank Villa

Remains my preferred b&b in Masham. Tried to stay March/ Sept last year (2020) for birthday/AGM with Black Sheep but something forced a cancel..great 3 night stay this sept 2021. Almost "normal". Rooms tidy and clean, well only saw ours!. Always recommend Masham's Bank Villa. Location marvellous just down a hill from Black Sheep Brewery and Visitor Centre.

Masham's Bed & Breakfast gem.

We first stayed at Bank Villa in 1987 and have stayed many times since. During this time we have seen small changes to the accommodation and several changes in ownership. The present owner ‘Natalie’ was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. On arrival we were given our room key and fresh milk provided in a small flask (nice but could do with flask being more than half full) which is replenished daily.  Breakfast and all drinks etc required throughout your stay are booked prior to arrival, although we found changes to breakfast can be made on request. The rooms are adequate and quaint, in keeping with the age of the building. Note that there are now no TV’s in the rooms. Natalie is in the process of making changes to the accommodation and we look forward to returning in the future to sample the changes.

Pleasant Stay

We stayed 2 nights either side of a family gathering at Swinton, and were very happy with our choice. The room was clean, the bed comfortable ( for 2 people who usually sleep separately ), the breakfast delicious, and Natalie charming. After a very big lunch, she kindly provided plates, cutlery and glasses so that we could eat a light supper in the Breakfast Room. Thank you so much.

Comfortable stay with a delightful hostess

Natalie the host was simply wonderful, I was using Bank Villa as an overnight before the Dalesman Triathlon nearby at Ripon. The room was clean, tidy and with all the right touches. Breakfast was even left ready for me as I was leaving at 4am! Thank you Natalie.

Top notch hospitality

I stayed one night with my sister and the room was very comfortable and very clean. Natalie was extremely friendly and breakfast was amazing.  Masham is a beautiful village and pay a visit to Harry’s chip shop.  I will definitely be back.
