I originally booked this hotel as a weekend away for me and my partner. The hotel looks lovely and has great reviews. I called the number on the website to confirm the booking details and spoke with one of the owners who told me he was too busy to speak to me and hung up. I then called the number back and explained I had made a booking and wanted to confirm some details and due to the way I had been spoken to I was considering cancelling. The owner then told me to cancel and hung up again. 
I then sent the B&B an email directly telling them how I had been spoken to.
I was contacted by phone a short while later by the other owner who did not offer any form of an apology and justified her husbands behavior by telling me they work in a busy tea room and do not deal with any phonecalls. The queue is out the door and the extractor fans were on so he couldn't hear me properly. I politely explained I was not aware of all these issues as all the website gives me is a contact number and that her husband could hear me fine especially when he told me to cancel my booking. The lady also informed me people who call interfere with the credit card machine working and also I had requested an early check-in which they do not offer (the booking website offered a range of book in times). She then finished by saying cancel it or not, its up to me. 
I then cancelled my booking. Not the treatment I expect as a potential guest. Friendly owners? I would say very rude and unfriendly.

Friendly Owners - I think not!

What a find (thanks to tripadvisor)! Small B and B with just 2 en-suite rooms, both with sea views. Our room was gorgeous and we loved all the little touches such as fresh milk in our fridge every day and homemade flapjacks on arrival. The room was spacious with a sitting area and a huge and very comfortable bed. The location of the B and B means that it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent. Jo was extremely welcoming and friendly and gave us several great suggestions for local walks. We loved that we could walk from here to Robin Hood's Bay and see the seals at Ravenscar without needing to drive anywhere - we needed cake from the tearooms on our return which was also delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend this place and we very much hope to return one day!

Gorgeous room and very friendly owners

Wonderful B&B - after a busy week at work it was a real treat to stay here for two nights. My room was lovely with wonderful views of the coast. The room and bathroom were spotless, there was fresh milk for my tea and some homemade flapjack. It was incredibly quiet so no problems sleeping. Breakfast was massive and set me up for a days walking. Jo was a mine of information, loaning me a map after I discovered I'd left mine at home. 
A relaxing weekend break which I'm hoping to repeat. 
PS I also recommend the tea room, the lemon and apple tart was delicious.

Relaxing stay

We´ve made a rest and a "second" breakfast on our Cleveland Way walk.Very friendly host, excellent breakfast,very tidy and lovely decoration. A pity we did not plan to stay for a night.Wonderful location close to the walk.Highly recommendable.

Stop-over in the tearooms

It's the best B and B we've ever stayed in.  We stayed for 2 nights with a couple of friends. Absolutely lovely rooms. There's only 2 but both large and lovely ensuite bathrooms. Both rooms have sea views. Jo and Pete were very friendly and made us really welcome. The food in the Tearoom was very tasty and a lot of it homemade. Can't wait to go back.
